03. The Believer’s Ancestry

My wife Barb and I never seem to be satisfied when it comes to finding a church that will fit our needs as well as will allow us to be used for their needs. We’ve been searching for about two years, many churches of many flavors. If I had to describe myself, I’d say that I’m a Bapticostal. I like the fundamentalism of a Baptist church but I like the Ruach Ha Kodesh way of a Pentecostal church. I believe that praise and worship should be reverent and that the church should always be in the Word of Yahweh, but, at the same time I believe that the Church Incorporate should be free in the gifts of the Ruach. I’m totally against all of the angel’s feathers, diamonds and gold dust, and the spiritual laughter and barking like dogs in church, so I tend to avoid the Charismatic circles. Oh, and if there’s drums playing during worship, you won’t see me there for long, but that’s another story.

So, Barb and I found a wonderful little church about thirty miles from home. I had forgotten my motto that good churches are never close to home. The first week there we were welcomed like family and have been treated like family ever since. The pastor, his wife and the elders are all humble and they all love Jews and Israel. Today, I was floored because I could have sworn that the pastor had been reading my blog posts because his sermon was so in line with my values and such that it is almost, shall I say “spooky?” No, it’s not an esoteric sort of spooky, but uncanny in many ways. It further proves to me that Yahweh will confirm where a person’s supposed to fellowship one way or another. We have to be sensitive to exactly which way He is showing us.

About a year and a half ago, we were in PetSmart when they were having the “dog show” where they allow people to adopt dogs. Our little girl, Davi, who was our baby Yorkie had died because someone had stepped on her and broke some of her vertebrae. We loved that little puppy. Davi was a companion for our other tiny Yorkie Adie and we knew that we didn’t want Adie to be alone. So, off we went to PetSmart. We looked around and saw a dog that we saw there the week before. He was a mix of Cairne Terrier and Yahweh knows what else.

20130424_143103Buddie before a well needed haircut.

We took an immediate love toward this dog, whose name was Chester. We were bound and determined to change that name, and we did. He became Buddie, simply because he would be a buddy to our other dog and he took a liking to me so he was my buddy too. Barbara was a bit concerned because the week before we saw him scrapping with another dog over a bowl of food, and he looked like he had anger issues. We took him anyway, figuring that Yahweh would work things out.

The lady told us that Buddie came from down in California, from a Kill Shelter near Los Angeles. Their agency rescues dogs like Buddie and brings them to Oregon for adoption. Well, Buddie turned out to be awesome. He only urinated twice in the house, to mark his territory but quickly learned to go outside. You know, they say that dogs aren’t beings that are able to comprehend things, but Buddie, I am convinced, knew that he was in a Kill Shelter and that he was rescued. We sometimes call him Buddie Love because he just loves to snuggle and whenever we’re home he has to lay with one of us and he would lick us to death if we allowed it. I can tell that Buddie knows that we rescued him from death, that he knew that he was marked for death, and he sees us sort of as saviors. Other people have said this about dogs that have been rescued; that they know and are grateful.

So, like I said above, Yahweh gives you ways to know that you’re in the right place of fellowship. The way that He shows me is he starts to talk to me a lot during a service. For instance, I’m 55 years old and at this age you start to wonder how much longer you’ll be on this earth and how long you’ll be effective while you’re here. You start to wonder how much longer you’ll get to help raise up your grandchildren and how long you’ll be there for the children. And, you wonder if there is anyone whom you can pass down your legacy. Having no natural children of my own, this means that it will either be a nephew or a grandson or granddaughter. I know I’m supposed to pass mine on, and I’m waiting for Yahweh to show me which one. So, while at fellowship yesterday I clearly heard Yahweh tell me, “David, you have absolutely no idea the things that I still have to do through you.” That was very encouraging, for sure. You see, many years ago Yahweh showed me how I would exit this world, but of course he never said when. Seeing Islam encroaching on our nation and society has  made me wonder if it might be in the next five or ten years.

The best thing however, and how he brought me to tears in fellowship (during worship) was when we were singing songs about our adoption by Yahweh. All of a sudden I flashed on Buddie, and how he had to know that he was marked for death. Then, one day a merciful soul plucked him from that death mill and brought him to Oregon. He was still an orphan with many other dogs that were rescued from the same fate. Then, that one day occurred when we met Buddie, fell in love with him and brought him home. Then I flashed on how Buddie is always happy when we come home from work and/or school. How he hears our car(s) and waits in my recliner until he can see me. Then he jumps off the chair and claws at the door until we open it. Then he starts to jump up and down, like a circus dog, begging to be picked up and loved. You know, even during times when I have to scold him, he bows his head a little, but his tail is always wagging. He knows what he did was wrong, but he knows that we will always love him no matter what he does. Buddie always follows me around and when I’m in the recliner he will always come up to rest with me and the other dogs. I look at Buddie a lot, and I wonder how anyone could want to turn him over to a kill mill to have his life snuffed out. I wonder about people who can do such things to healthy animals who want to offer love to their people. Those people to me are like this world and it’s god, who seek to kill and destroy those who love Yahweh and Yahweh’s creation.  This makes me want to hold him and love him all the more, and it causes me to want to grasp Yahweh by the feet and never let go.

Okay, so then I flashed on how all of us, all humans, have a death sentence on our heads. I think about how Yeshua died so that he could pluck anyone who wants to come to Him from that death sentence. He reaches down into this world and plucks us from that death mill that is the imminent faith of all people. Then he loves us with an unconditional love, which causes us to want to love him back. If we could only see what our fate was, we could appreciate Yeshua so much more. Like Buddie, we would lay there all day while Yahweh doesn’t seem present and we would look forward with baited breath for His return. Our constant thought should be about pleasing the one who rescued us from sin and death, and the one who will still love us if we tear up the couch, eat our food when we’re not looking and even when we get into scraps with our fellow’s. And, like Buddie, when we’re experiencing the chastisement of Yahweh our tails should be wagging because we know that the reason He is disciplining us is because he loves us so much that He wants us to get it right and to be more Holy.

Yes, there are many ways that Yahweh talks to us, through His Creation, through circumstances and through even our dogs. And, if we love our dogs with such a love, imagine the love that He has for us, seeing that we are so much more precious than dogs to him. So I would encourage everyone to crave for time with Yeshua like Buddie craves his time with me and my wife. Be happy all the time knowing that no matter how dark the times may be, our owner is coming home. Let’s look forward to that time and stand in His recliner with fervent expectation. Let’s run to the door to greet Him in times of fellowship and love with Him. Let’s love His correction, because even though we tear up the couches, pillows and stuffed animals in our lives, He still loves us and wants us to learn to love Him more and to behave correctly.

If I can learn a lesson like I have from a little dog, imagine the lessons we can learn if we would just stop whining, and we would just shut-up and listen.

Okay, I can feel the fingers on the delete button and I know that I will lose some readers because of what I am about to write. For some reason, Christians find it hard to believe that they were chosen by Yahweh before they had a choice in the matter. Maybe it has something to do with the subject of predestination being associated with Calvinism. Many assert that Calvinism is evil because there have been a scant few Calvinists that have basically asserted that since people are predestined to become Sons of God then people don’t need to be witnessed to because Yahweh will eventually bring the Elect to faith one way or another. Calvinists are often seen as being uncaring because it is assumed that they do not care about the unsaved. Well, I hold to most of Calvin’s doctrine and I can attest that I have never run into that sort of person. All Calvinists know that we are charged by Yeshua to preach the Gospel to every creature. We know that Yahweh knows all of those who will come to Him, but we affirm that Yahweh is the only one that knows who the Elect are and that we’re supposed to present the Gospel to every “creature,” so that nobody will be without excuse. There is no better feeling than to know that our faithfulness in sharing the Gospel has brought a soul into the kingdom, or should I say have helped them to connect with what Yahweh has destined for their lives from before time existed.

I don’t mean to write much here. I just want to present the scriptures that state that the Elect is predestined to come to faith in Yahweh. I merely present the scriptures. If you still have a problem with the fact that predestination is real then perhaps you should have a good heart to heart with Yahweh. Jews have no issue with predestination, so I present these scriptures to a Christian audience, not a Messianic one. If you need to, after you read these few scriptures (there are much more) then I exhort you to take an extended prayer time to ask Yahweh Yeshua His take on the matter. Like I said, these are His scriptures, His words written through the inspiration of the Ruach Ha Kodesh.

I also ask that you consider that Yahweh exists outside of linear time, outside of His creation. Yahweh can see the beginning from the end and the end from the beginning. Time is inconsequential to Him. Therefore, it is possible that because Yahweh can see before history began and after history ends he, therefore, knows who will be saved because He knows them already because we exist in the Heavenly’s with Him already. Deep calls to Deep and we must consider that part of us is a spirit, therefore, we are partially linked to Heaven now, that is, those who are saved and those who will be saved. Although that is one way to look at it, I do believe that Yahweh had each and every person that would be saved in His plan (in lieu of knowing the end from the beginning), however we will not understand which concept is correct until we are in the presence of Yeshua and if he feels it necessary to address an important subject. Face it, when we get to Heaven, who really cares about theological debates anymore. I do feel that being predestined is a wonderful gift bestowed upon Yahweh’s Elect and I feel privileged to be one of the Elect.

As I said, if you have a problem with all of this, please seek out Yeshua in prayer and ask Him to reveal the truth to you, or to show me where I’m wrong if I err. That being said, I have to say that I take Yahweh’s Word seriously, and I have faith that Yahweh’s Word is truth, light, and life, there is no possibility that I am wrong because that would make Yahweh’s Word wrong, and that is impossible. I will not battle with anyone about the predestination of Yahweh’s Elect.

According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. Ephesians 1:4-6

That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ. Ephesians 1:10-12

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. Romans 8:28-30

But we speak God’s wisdom in a mystery, the hidden wisdom, which God predestined before the ages to our glory. 1 Corinthians 2:7

No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. John 6:44

And he said, Therefore said I unto you, that no man can come unto me, except it were given unto him of my Father. John 6:65

So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen. Matthew 20:16

For many are called, but few are chosen. Matthew 22:14

That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory. 1 Thessalonians 2:12

Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Thessalonians 2:14

But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; 1 Peter 1:15

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light 1 Peter 2:9

In regard to being “drawn by the Father,” it could be used as an argument against Predestination. Yeshua said:

And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. John 12:32

The Greek for that scripture and the transliteration of the Greek are:

κἀγὼ ἐὰν ὑψωθῶ ἐκ τῆς γῆς πάντας ἑλκύσω πρὸς ἐμαυτόν

Kagō ean hypsoō ek ho ge pas helkō pros emautou

It should be noted that the word “men” in the Greek is not in the scripture. It is an assumption that it would be men because Yeshua died for mankind, however that word is not there. Thus it should be rendered:

And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all unto me.

It cannot be denied that the crucifixion of Yeshua has drawn every man that has heard about His sacrifice on the tree. However just because someone is drawn doesn’t mean that they will stick around once they have seen or heard what they have been drawn to. Yeshua drew a lot of people during his ministry year(s). For instance, the rich man who wanted to follow Yeshua was drawn to Him because he loved the words that Yeshua spoke. However, when Yeshua explained to that rich man what would be required to follow Yeshua he went away sad because Yeshua told him to sell all that he had and only then could he be a disciple. Yeshua constantly drew Pharisee’s, Sadducee’s, and Scribes to his sermons but they didn’t come to follow Yeshua, they instead came to debate and harass him. Yes, the crucifixion of Yeshua has drawn vast amounts of men for the past two thousand years. Some were drawn to hear the message and they believed. Some were drawn and could not accept the message and some have been drawn so as to mock the work of Yeshua on the Tree. Drawing does not guarantee acceptance. Another good example is the parable of the sower of the seeds:

Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower. When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side. But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended. He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful. But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. Matthew 13:18-23

The crucifixion of Yeshua was the sum total of the Gospel. Every man or woman that has heard of the crucifixion story has been drawn to Yeshua. Many will claim to “believe” in Yeshua, that is true, but even Satan believes in Yeshua, but real faith comes in not just believing in Yeshua, but to actually believe Yeshua. Many are drawn to believe in Him, even some Atheists will agree that a historical Yeshua lived and some will even admit that he received capital punishment for being a rebel. The true test is becoming a servant of Yeshua, and servitude is a hard pill to swallow for most people and when they learn that obedience is required the vast majority walk away. So yes, all men that have heard about the crucifixion have been drawn, but most stop short of jumping aboard ship, so to speak. Those who do sail with the captain were preordained to do so, they were drawn and accepted their lot in life because they were meant to even before they were born.

So I will end this journal entry here. If you realize that you were picked from before the foundation of the world then you know the truth. If you deny predestination then you will someday realize the truth, even if you have to hear it personally from Yeshua as you join him in eternity. For me, I’d rather like to go through life with a knowledge that my salvation was not a work that I did, nor the work of someone else’s work, but a plan instituted by Yahweh Yeshua, the Lamb that was slain from before the foundation of the Earth.

We fully enforce the fact that the Jews have always been and always will be God’s Chosen People. Keeping that in mind we also affirm that God’s plan, from the beginning, has always been to bless all people through the Jewish People. The list below will emphasize that fact:

Old Testament promise
or principle and blessing
to the non-Jew
New Testament fulfillment
or application to the
Goyim (Gentile)
(Five Book Moses)
All families of the earth were to be blessed through Abraham. Genesis 12:1-3 The promise to Abraham was not only to his descendants, but to all those who would walk by faith. Romans 4:11-13 Galatians 3:8
God commands that the ger (foreigner)[Strongs 01616] enter Israel’s Sabbath rest. Exodus 20:10; 23:12 and Deuteronomy 5:14 Jesus invites all who are weary to come unto Him, and He will give rest. Matthew 11:28 God’s rest is for those who believe, whether Jew or Gentile. Hebrews 4:1-9
There was no distinction in obligation between the “ger” and Israel. Both shared in the blessings of God; both had responsibilities to God. Numbers 15:14,15 God does not give preference to those who received the law, but will judge according to the gospel. Romans 2:10-16
Ruth, a loyal ger, was greatly blessed by God. Ruth 1:16-18; 4:13, 21, 22 Because Ruth was used to bring forth King David, she was also part of the lineage of King Messiah, Jesus. Matthew 1:6
God’s glory to be declared among the nations, goyim [strongs 01471] and His marvelous works among all peoples, ammim [strongs 05971] 1 Chronicles 16:24 Jesus commanded the gospel be proclaimed to all nations. Matthew 28:19
Gentiles will have part in the Kingdom of God. Psalm 86:9 The nations are fellow heirs of God’s promises through the Gospel. Ephesians 3:6
The Psalmist will sing praises with the nations – Jews and Gentiles together. Psalm 108:3 Jews and Gentiles are united by the Holy Spirit. 1 Corinthians 12:13
All the families of the nations will worship before the Lord. Psalm 22:27,28 Every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord. Philippians 2:9-11

Gentiles, goyim, will come to God’s light. Isaiah 60:13 Simeon recognized Jesus as the light who would bring revelation to the Gentiles. Luke 2:29,31
God will show mercy upon one who had not obtained mercy and will say to them which were not His people, “You are my people,” and they shall say, “You are my God.” Hosea 2:23 Those who were once strangers and aliens, far from God, have now drawn near through the blood of Christ. Ephesians 2:11-13
Jonah preached to Gentile Nineveh, the city repented and God spared it. Jonah 3:10 In contrast to Jonah, the early “Jews for Jesus” rejoiced because the Gentiles received the word of the Lord. Acts 15:3

From time to time it is important for all believers in Messiah Yeshua (Christ Jesus) to stop and think about who they really are. We’ve been given a special identity and position through our adoption into Yahweh’s Kingdom by our relationship with Messiah. So let me encourage me to read through this list. Save it and maybe even print it out for your edification and for the edification of believers around you.

The LORD shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, and walk in his ways.
And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the LORD; and they shall be afraid of thee.
And the LORD shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers to give thee.
The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.
And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:
And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them. Deuteronomy 28:1-14

Recently I received an e-mail from someone who found some of the words that I’ve written on the Internet a bit distasteful. One of the things that he’s contending is that the Jewish people are no longer God’s Chosen People. This gentleman contends that since the Jews rejected their Messiah some two thousand years ago, they are now forsaken by God and that the Church has taken their place as God’s chosen people. Through several e-mails I pressed him for information on where he got his theory. When his third e-mail came he announced that he was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church, and that his belief is Church doctrine, as handed down by the Apostles Peter and Andrew. Having always known that the Jewish people are still God’s chosen people, I decided to do some research to find where the Bible refutes this gentleman’s theory. Below is what I’ve found.

But before we go into if the Jewish people are rejected or have lost their prominence, lets look at the church. What exactly is the Church, and in what ways do it and the Jewish nation differ. When looking at anything, it’s always best to ask the six basic questions; who, what, when, where, why and how? If these things can be answered, you have a true explanation of whatever you are researching. So, without any delay, let’s look at those basic questions where the Church is concerned:

Who and What is the Church:

Many will argue that the Church is some ecclesial body. They will say that it is some sort of church government, modeled after some earthly sort of system. The Bible states that it is very different, sort of a theocracy. I think that the best way to describe it is a group of people (two or more) who are gathered together in Jesus’ name. That doesn’t mean just anyone who gather together in His Name, but those who are truly His, born of His Spirit and by His grace. There are many around the world who claim to be Christian in their belief system, but a mere shallow belief alone is not what makes a Christian. For instance, I know that every time I turn on the know of the lamp, electricity makes the lamp glow, but that doesn’t make me an electrician. I know how to do some simple work on my automobile, but that doesn’t make me a mechanic. I can know the Bible and even memorize every verse and even claim that Jesus is God’s Son and even God, but that doesn’t make me a true believer. Even Satan believes that Jesus is the Son of God and that He’s God, and that certainly doesn’t make him a Christian.

No, a true Christian is one who believes that he or she is a sinner and has no hope without the intervention of God Himself. They know that Jesus was the Sacrifice Lamb that God offered to save mankind, and they accept that Sacrifice wholeheartedly. They’ve recognized that they can only have a chance if they welcome Jesus to come and live in their heart, and allow Him to change them into His likeness, to do His will and purpose. And to the true Christian, God is the purpose for living every day, and for doing every action. And no, we’re not perfect, but are willing to allow God to work in us toward perfection, knowing that when we are in His presence, we will be perfect, like He is.

Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus said unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and [of] the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. John 3:3-6

The true Church is made up of such persons. The word Church doesn’t denote any one denomination, sect or group, but the corporate body of those as mentioned above. They aren’t Catholics or any mainline Protestants. They aren’t Pentecostals or Charismatics or any other man made name. They’re just Christians.

The Church doesn’t denote a building or meeting place either, although they are called churches. The last building that God’s presence resided in was the Temple in Jerusalem, and that hasn’t existed for many centuries. Frankly, I find it an insult to think that people would assign God to vessels made of wood, hay or stubble. No, He’s more at home in the human heart, in the very essence of our being, and He can’t live there unless we’ve been sanctified by becoming a new creature through a rebirth in the Spirit of Jesus.

When and How was the Church founded:

The Church’s founding in many ways resembles a person’s life. As mentioned above, there has to be two births for a human to be complete. The first birth is the physical birth where we issue forth from our mothers. The second birth is a Spiritual birth, issued forth from the Holy Spirit of God. Where the first birth is concerned, we have no say in the matter, but we have to seek and ask for the second birth. The Bible also mentions that there are two deaths. The first is the natural death that everyone experiences. The second death is a spiritual death, doled out to those who didn’t accept the rebirth while alive here on Earth. Some choose to believe that the “born again,” speaks of reincarnation, but that is refuted in the following scripture:

And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment. Hebrews 9:27

In two births Church came into being. All agree that the physical birth was after the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. At that time, it was an entity, made up of those who chose to believe in Jesus as their Messiah. They believed in His miracles, His ministry, His life, His death (for atonement) and His resurrection. But it was not until the day of Pentecost, when the Church received the Holy Spirit as both a comforter and an empowerer did it really move forth as a completed entity. The Church is not an organization, it’s an organism, living, breathing, growing and overcoming.

In the first birth of the Church, they were all together, but without knowing a real purpose. They knew that they believed in Jesus, and because of that belief, they were united, but united for what purpose? Then, when they were together and all in one accord, the Holy Spirit came and dwelt on them and in them. They then knew that they had a purpose and they knew how to accomplish that purpose. The Spirit gave them wisdom, power and direction. So, in answer to the question; the Church was founded after the resurrection of Jesus Christ (Yeshua Ha Mashiach) and it was born again on the day of Pentecost.

Where was the Church established?

The Church’s official birthplace is Jerusalem of course. That’s where Jesus’ crucifixion was; it’s where His resurrection was and it is where the recorded imparting of the Holy Spirit was recorded as having happened. From there it spread throughout southwest Asia, North Africa and Europe, and from those places it spread to the rest of the world.

Why was the Church formed?

The Church was formed by Jesus Christ to be a people sanctified for His holy purpose. His purpose was that the whole world might be saved; saved, meaning freed from sin and it’s bondage, and free, meaning brought into his Holy Kingdom to be His holy people.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. John 3:16-17

You see, the saved part is already done. Every person who has ever lived since the inception of the Church has had the chance to be saved. The gift has been there, but every gift has two parties, the giver and the receiver. The purpose of the Church is to spread the Good News of God’s salvation through Jesus, and to exemplify what living a holy and sanctified life really is.

The Church’s History:

If a serious study is done it is easy to see how the Church parallels the ministry and failures of the Jewish nation prior to and after the Ministry of Jesus. Israel was delivered from the bondage of slavery in Egypt. Those in the Church have been delivered from the bondage of the law of sin and death. Israel prospered in the land when they first arrived and were governed by a group of men called judges, who were in turn governed by God. The early Church had the Apostles, then the early Church fathers who were governed by God, and the Church too prospered and grew in it’s first two hundred years.

Israel then demanded that they have a king set over them, and they got Saul, who did evil in the eyes of the Lord. The Church set up an ecclesiastic order to rule over things, often referred to by Jesus as the Nicolatians, whose practices He says He hates. Israel came together under David, and while there is no comparison, the ecclesia brought the Churches together under the Catholic Church. David’s son Solomon corrupted Israel and the Catholic Church corrupted Christianity. Israel split into two factions; Israel and Judah, one being less of an evil than the other. The Church split into two factions, Rome and Constantinople. Israel and Judah were constantly under attack and oppression by the Philistines, Assyrians, Babylonians and others. The Roman church was always oppressed by the barbarians to the north and the Muslims to the south. The Eastern Church was oppressed and attacked by the Moslems to the east and south. The list could go on and on.

There are similarities in other ways too. Both had remnants of people who were not corrupted by the system. Israel and Judah had God’s prophets who God used to attempt reform and bring about righteousness and many were killed. The same with the Christian world. Both had reformers that succeeded, if only for a while. Israel had people like Nehemiah and King Hezekiah. The Christians had people like John Wesley and Martin Luther. Look at the similarities and try to tell me that there’s been no battle between good and evil all throughout history.

The Bible always speaks of a remnant of believers who do not corrupt themselves with the ways of the world, or the system that they live in. The trouble is that most people who start out believing cling to the organization that is called the Church instead of becoming the body organism that the true Church is intended to be. It’s much easier to sit in a pew and agree with everything that comes out of a leader’s mouth then it is to investigate those words and compare them with what God says in His word. That has basically been the history of the majority of the Church. Many were silent during the Inquisition, when Jews and other non-Christians were persecuted and then expunged from Spain and other European nations. Very few spoke out in Russia during their many pogroms to punish God’s chosen people, the Jews. But we have to give credit to the remnant of believers who spoke up. We have to give credit to those who hid and cared for Jews during those Inquisitions, those pogroms and in Hitler’s Europe before and during World War Two.

We too have to look at the accomplishments of true believers. There were the martyrs of old and those today who give their bodies up the flame and all sorts of trials and forms of death that a cruel and evil world can produce. There are those who have forsaken their comfort to bring the Gospel to every nation around the world. Because of them, millions have come to faith in Jesus and have inherited the Kingdom of Heaven. There are the unsung heroes too, who clothe the naked, feed the hungry and care for the fatherless and widows. The kind and holy gestures of Christians far outweigh the evil that has been done in Jesus’ name and without His consent. Too bad that the world chooses to remember the few bad things rather than the many good deeds and works.

So, has the Church replace Israel as the Chosen?

The answer to that is a simple, ‘NO!” It’s really quite simple if one just sits down, reads their Bible and uses the brains that God has endowed most of us with. It’s really a no brainer. Chosen people are people that are picked by a chooser. Let’s look at the scripture above again and pull it apart:

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. John 3:16-17

We saw earlier how Jesus died for the whole world, and that people have to choose whether to believe and accept Jesus’ sacrifice and His living in their beings. The whole theme here is choice. We have to choose Him. There is a covenant here, and every covenant has to have two willing partners. God is the giver, and we choose to receive or not to receive. Therefore, we are the choosers, not the Chosen.

Where the Jewish people are concerned, the covenant is different. God spoke to Abraham and told Him to leave His land and to go wherever God sent Him. When Abraham obeyed that command, and others that were placed upon him, God chose him because God saw him to be a righteous man. There are many times in the Tenach (Old Covenant) where God would announce that He would hold back judgment and restore blessings because of His covenant with Abraham. The covenant with Abraham was a covenant with the physical seed of Abraham. God also swore covenants with Isaac and Jacob, further strengthening His resolve to keep His part of the Holy agreement with Abraham’s seed.

The Jewish nation went through many times of rebellion and restoration, and each time, God refreshed the covenant that He had with His people Israel. The books of the prophets are overflowing with prophecies of God’s restoration of the Jewish people. Take for example the following scripture, which foretells of the rebirth of the Nation of Israel, which happened in 1948:

Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? [or] shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children. Isaiah 66:8

And if just one isn’t enough to convince you, here’s a couple others:

And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea. Isaiah 11:11

For, lo, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will bring again the captivity of my people Israel and Judah, saith the LORD: and I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it. Jeremiah 30:3

These prophecies have been fulfilled in our own life times. They should be proof enough that God has not forsaken His people.

God, when He made His covenant with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob gave His word that He would keep His promise to keep Israel as His Chosen People. He drew up the contract, swore to it before the three patriarchs, and gave the land as collateral to assure His People and the rest of the world that He was a God of kept promises. True, He has had to take away some of the privileges of His contract because of bad conduct of the other signatory, but the contract has never been voided and all privileges will someday be restored. But God said one more thing to insure that His people Israel would always be His. He swore that He would destroy all of creation before He would forget and forsake Israel:

Thus saith the LORD, which giveth the sun for a light by day, [and] the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The LORD of hosts [is] his name: If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the LORD, [then] the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever. Thus saith the LORD; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the LORD. Jeremiah 31:35-37

Gleanings from the Brit Hadasha (New Covenant):

To many it may appear that this “Church is Israel” heresy is a modern day belief. It’s been brought to modern light by the likes of Herbert W. Armstrong and other racial heretics who would deny the true Israel his prominence in God’s eyes. But, a search of the scriptures shows that Satan had been playing his nasty little games even during the forming of the Church. If you read the book that Paul wrote to the Romans you will see that Paul had to correct some of the early believers who tried to promote this heresy. Below you will find Romans Chapter 11. Read it through several times because it holds a lot of truth. I’ve used the New International Version, because it makes it a little easier to understand.

Romans 11

The Remnant of Israel

1I ask then: Did God reject his people? By no means! I am an Israelite myself, a descendant of Abraham, from the tribe of Benjamin. 2God did not reject his people, whom he foreknew. Don’t you know what the Scripture says in the passage about Elijah–how he appealed to God against Israel: 3“Lord, they have killed your prophets and torn down your altars; I am the only one left, and they are trying to kill me”? 4And what was God’s answer to him? “I have reserved for myself seven thousand who have not bowed the knee to Baal.” 5So too, at the present time there is a remnant chosen by grace. 6And if by grace, then it is no longer by works; if it were, grace would no longer be grace.
7What then? What Israel sought so earnestly it did not obtain, but the elect did. The others were hardened, 8as it is written:  “God gave them a spirit of stupor, eyes so that they could not see and ears so that they could not hear, to this very day.” 9And David says: “May their table become a snare and a trap, a stumbling block and a retribution for them. 10May their eyes be darkened so they cannot see, and their backs be bent forever.”

Ingrafted Branches

11Again I ask: Did they stumble so as to fall beyond recovery? Not at all! Rather, because of their transgression, salvation has come to the Gentiles to make Israel envious. 12But if their transgression means riches for the world, and their loss means riches for the Gentiles, how much greater riches will their fullness bring! 13I am talking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch as I am the apostle to the Gentiles, I make much of my ministry 14in the hope that I may somehow arouse my own people to envy and save some of them. 15For if their rejection is the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead? 16If the part of the dough offered as firstfruits is holy, then the whole batch is holy; if the root is holy, so are the branches. 17If some of the branches have been broken off, and you, though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive root, 18do not boast over those branches. If you do, consider this: You do not support the root, but the root supports you. 19You will say then, “Branches were broken off so that I could be grafted in.” 20Granted. But they were broken off because of unbelief, and you stand by faith. Do not be arrogant, but be afraid. 21For if God did not spare the natural branches, he will not spare you either. 22Consider therefore the kindness and sternness of God: sternness to those who fell, but kindness to you, provided that you continue in his kindness. Otherwise, you also will be cut off. 23And if they do not persist in unbelief, they will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again. 24After all, if you were cut out of an olive tree that is wild by nature, and contrary to nature were grafted into a cultivated
olive tree, how much more readily will these, the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree!

All Israel Will Be Saved

I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in. 26And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: “The deliverer will come from Zion; he will turn godlessness away from Jacob. 27And this is my covenant with them when I take away their sins.” 28As far as the gospel is concerned, they are enemies on your account; but as far as election is concerned, they are loved on account of the patriarchs, 29for God’s gifts and his call are irrevocable. 30Just as you who were at one time disobedient to God have now received mercy as a result of their disobedience, 31so they too have now become disobedient in order that they too may now receive mercy as a result of God’s mercy to you. 32For God has bound all men over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all.

33Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out! 34“Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor?” 35“Who has ever given to God, that God should repay him?”
36For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.

Further complications of the Church = Israel Theory:

When Israel came out of bondage and spent time in the wilderness, they were given a list of laws that they had to obey. We know the beginning of that list as the 10 Commandments. But little does anyone know, that there are roughly 613 laws in the Law of Moses. Some of these laws, such as keeping the festivals, and feasts were given to Israel and they were commanded to keep these feasts forever as a remembrance of God’s mighty salvation and victory over the Gods of Egypt. The Jewish people to this day keep those feasts and festivals. If the Church is the new Israel, then it is in violation of God’s edict. But, Jesus came and freed us from the law, right? So, the Church can’t be the new Israel.

There are many scriptures both in the old and new Covenants of how God will physically come to Earth and deliver Israel from it’s physical enemies. That hasn’t happened yet, and if the Church is the new Israel, it should have happened.

The Prophets say in many places that Israel will be redeemed physically, as a nation. The New Testament says that Christians are already redeemed, individually, joined together to be a living Holy organism. So, if the Church is the New Israel, does that mean that Jesus has to redeem us twice? Seems to me that that’s calling the first redemption impotent.

It makes God out to be a liar, and a person who doesn’t make good on His promises.

It insults the character of Jesus, “Jesus Christ, the same yesterday, today and forever,” because it implies that God is changeable, depending on His moods.

It is the root of Anti-Semitism, because it devalues the Jewish person. It breeds the “Christ Killer,” mood that prevails in every Inquisition, pogrom and holocaust against the Jewish People. Since the death of Jesus, it’s been Satan’s favorite tool to start persecution of the Jews in the Christian world.

Persecution and the Jewish People:

One of the favorite excuses that gentiles use when persecuting the Jewish people is that they are “Christ Killers.” These same people say that the reason why the Jewish people through history have gone through persecution is because of this contention. This contention is as stupid as the people who  perpetrate it.

First, the Jewish people have gone through several persecutions, and many of those were before the time of Christ. There was the slavery of Egypt; the wicked plan of extermination by Haman, the constant harassments of foreign nations like Assyria, and the Philistines. The exile of Israel to Assyria and the later later exile of Israel and Judah to Babylon. Then there was the subjugation under the Greeks and later the Romans. All of these things occurred before the birth of Christ Jesus.

One thing that always seems to escape the eyes of bigots and potential persecutors is that after the death and resurrection of Jesus, many true believers in Christ have been persecuted along with the Jews. The Romans loved to kill Christians in the arena. When the ecclesiastic church was formed it persecuted the true believers who wouldn’t conform to its worldly and sometimes pagan form of religion. No one mentions all of the millions of the Protestants who were killed by the Roman Catholic church down through the ages.

So we have to agree that although there have been many persecutions of the Jewish people, many true believers in Christ have suffered too. Now let me say something that might at first make me sound like a hypocrite, but after I explain everything you will see something interesting. The main focus of all of these persecutions, has been Christ Jesus. Not that He personally has orchestrated it, but they’ve been done because of Him.

Without going into a whole other paper about this, let’s look at some things. If you’re a Spirit filled Christian you’ll see it, but if you’re not, I ask you to consider these things because it takes Spiritual eyes to see it. The purpose of all of the persecutions of the Jewish people before the birth of Christ, was to try to eliminate the royal and priestly line that would lead up to Jesus’ birth. When Satan had failed to accomplish this, He tried to kill Jesus himself, and probably thought he succeeded when Jesus was crucified. But then the resurrection happened and Satan failed again.

So now we live in an age of grace, where Jesus is a victor and all have a chance to flee from Satan’s evil camp to the righteous and holy camp of God. Now Satan is really mad. Not only did he goof in not eliminating the royal line, but he himself had something to do with establishing his adversary’s kingdom. So, who’s he mad at? He hates the Jews and he hates the Christians. And who is he going to persecute? He’s going to go after the ones who produced the Messiah, and also the ones who’ve been born again through Messiah’s Spirit.

But Satan especially likes persecuting the Jews; and why is that? Well, we have the reason above and that’s understandable. But, Satan can see some parts of the future, especially the parts that God has laid out in the Bible. Yes, Satan does read the Bible. How else is he so able to enable his human disciples to twist God’s word so, unless he knows it. Anyway, back to our saga. As we come to the close of human government here on earth, there will be one major focus, as illustrated in the prophetic books. That focus is the restoration and revival of the Jewish nation. Satan knows that Jesus will be coming soon, and he’s (Satan is) going out of his way to try to destroy God’s plan for Israel’s coming salvation. That is the reason why Israel has been persecuted so.

God hasn’t been sending judgment on the Jews for Jesus’ death? He would be a hypocrite for doing that. Jesus plainly said that:

Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father. John 10:17-18

And In Isaiah it was foretold:

Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put [him] to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see [his] seed, he shall prolong [his] days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. He shall see of the travail of his soul, [and] shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. Therefore will I divide him [a portion] with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors. Isaiah 53: 10-12

Jesus clearly explains in the scripture from John, written above, that He claims responsibility for His own death. God had given Him the power to lay down His life and also to raise it again. And notice that it says that God commanded Him to go to the cross. This was foretold in Isaiah (notice the scripture above) in such a beautiful fashion. It pleased God when Jesus was bruised, whipped, tortured and crucified, because those things gave God a provision to save anyone who would believe in what He did. It goes on to say that Jesus saw His seed, (meaning those who would become His, through His sacrifice) and I believe that is what made it easier for Him to endure all he endured. Then it says that God was satisfied by what happened. This means that it satisfied the need for cleansing us from sin. Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice, the Lamb of God. He fulfilled God’s requirement. The blood of bulls and the other sacrifices that man offered during the time of the Tabernacle and later the Temple weren’t enough. Only God could supply the sacrifice that would satisfy God.

So the next time that you think of the Jews being “Christ Killers,” or if you hear someone else say it, just remember, Jesus is a part of the Godhead, and allowed the destruction of His human incarnation so that you won’t have to be destroyed. And be thankful that a few Jewish leaders a couple of thousand years ago, who, through their ignorance, led the ultimate sacrifice to His slaughter, because if they hadn’t done it, no gentile would have had the chance to be born again, and there would be no resurrection.

So what about Jews who currently believe in Jesus:

Yes, you heard right; there are Jews who have accepted Jesus (Yeshua) as their Messiah. But that’s not really an alien idea, because the first believers were Jewish. The misnomer is that Jews who have accepted Jesus have converted. The true sense of their action should be labeled more as a “completion.” They are completed Jews, just as the apostles were. Only Gentiles can be converted because “converted,” means to make something from something else. Jewish Christians are completed because they were already on the road and have now completed the journey. They prefer mostly to be called Messianic Jews. Where the term Christian means “Christ-like,” the term Messianic means ‘Messiah-like.” Messiah and Christ are interchangeable terms that mean the same thing, both meaning, “anointed,” or having a special purpose for God; anointed (covered) by God’s Spirit. If you read the “olive tree,” analogy in the Romans chapter above you will understand all about the grafting and regrafting and such.

In Conclusion:

So, if you’ve read this article with in search of truth I hope you have found it. The Church is a separate entity, independent of Israel. The Church has not replaced Israel, nor will it ever do that. The Jewish people are still God’s chosen people, as backed up by scripture and the fulfillment of prophecy. If you have read this article and are still not satisfied just remember one thing. Someday all will have to give account to Jesus for the things they’ve done, and yes, that includes you. When you stand before Him, He will be announced as the Lion of The Tribe of Judah, and He’s as Jewish as they come. The ball’s now in your court.

Now that sounds like a strange subject for an article doesn’t it? Well, it doesn’t sound as strange as some of the things that will be coming upon the earth in the days to come. I like to visit a site on the internet on a daily basis: called “The Drudge Report.” Matt Drudge isn’t a believer as far as I know, or at least he hasn’t professed faith in Yeshua Ha Mashiach since I’ve been visiting his site, but he does have some off the wall articles featured from time to time there.

While visiting his site during the first quarter of 2005 I came across an interesting article that really sparked my interest. The article that is presented below is there for several reasons. First, I am interested in genetics; gene projects and things of that nature. Second, I am interested when anyone equated religion with science, especially when it is a secular scientist who is promoting religion. When I see the two words in the same article the red flags go up and I assume that the enemy of God is trying in some way to pervert God, His Word or His People. Thirdly, I am a student of history and I’ve seen how belief in genetics has led to many problems in societies, such as the holocaust, to name just one. So, let’s look at the article and see what it says, then we can dissect it and see what it’s intentions really are.

Genes contribute to religious inclination

Genes may help determine how religious a person is, suggests a new study of US twins. And the effects of a religious upbringing may fade with time.

Until about 25 years ago, scientists assumed that religious behaviour was simply the product of a person’s socialisation – or “nurture”. But more recent studies, including those on adult twins who were raised apart, suggest genes contribute about 40% of the variability in a person’s religiousness.

But it is not clear how that contribution changes with age. A few studies on children and teenagers – with biological or adoptive parents – show the children tend to mirror the religious beliefs and behaviours of the parents with whom they live. That suggests genes play a small role in religiousness at that age.

Now, researchers led by Laura Koenig, a psychology graduate student at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, US, have tried to tease apart how the effects of nature and nurture vary with time. Their study suggests that as adolescents grow into adults, genetic factors become more important in determining how religious a person is, while environmental factors wane.

Religious discussions

The team gave questionnaires to 169 pairs of identical twins – 100% genetically identical – and 104 pairs of fraternal twins – 50% genetically identical – born in Minnesota.

The twins, all male and in their early 30s, were asked how often they currently went to religious services, prayed, and discussed religious teachings. This was compared with when they were growing up and living with their families. Then, each participant answered the same questions regarding their mother, father, and their twin.

The twins believed that when they were younger, all of their family members – including themselves – shared similar religious behaviour. But in adulthood, however, only the identical twins reported maintaining that similarity. In contrast, fraternal twins were about a third less similar than they were as children.

“That would suggest genetic factors are becoming more important and growing up together less important,” says team member Matt McGue, a psychologist at the University of Minnesota.

Empty nests

Michael McCullough, a psychologist at the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida, US, agrees. “To a great extent, you can’t be who you are when you’re living under your parents’ roof. But once you leave the nest, you can begin to let your own preferences and dispositions shape your behaviour,” he told New Scientist. “Maybe, ultimately, we all decide what we’re most comfortable with, and it may have more to do with our own makeup than how we were treated when we were adolescents,” says McGue.

About a dozen studies have shown that religious people tend to share other personality traits, although it is not clear whether these arise from genetic or environmental factors. These include the ability to get along well with others and being conscientious, working hard, being punctual, and controlling one’s impulses.

But McGue says the new work suggests that being raised in a religious household may affect a person’s long-term psychological state less than previously thought. But he says the influence from this early socialisation may re-emerge later on, when the twins have families of their own. He also points out that the finding may not be universal because the research focused on a single population of US men.

So, what is the article really saying. Well, in a nutshell, it is saying that religious people are that way because their genes dictate that they be religious. In other words, they are denying that God plays any role in the destiny of a person. Too, they are disputing that having godly parents helps to bring up a godly child, teen and finally a godly adult. But when we read God’s word we see that our upbringing has a lot to do with how we turn out.

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6

Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him. Proverbs 22:15

In the scriptures above God clearly proves that rebellion is inherent in the human from the time he or she is a child. If anything is in the human genetic pool it is rebellion. It wasn’t always there but since the fall of mankind in the Garden of Eden it has been inscribed upon the tablets of our genes.

Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: Romans 5:12

So seeing that all are born with a genetic defect toward sin it would stand to reason that when people aren’t acted upon by anything that would lead them toward God, they would naturally tend to be repelled by the notion. But, we are all spiritual beings residing in fleshly temples which means that even without outside intervention by a person or persons to promote the notion of God, we would still know, by our conscience, that we are doing wrong when we in fact do wrong. I always get asked the question, “what about people who never heard about God, surely God can’t punish them for not knowing Him.” The Apostle Paul, in the book of to the Roman believers of his day illustrated this, when talking about the subject.

For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Romans 1:20

Simply put, everyone who has ever lived has had evidences of God’s existence, just  by observing creation all around them should be proof that God exists; that He is a God or order and power and that should cause everyone to seek out this God of majesty. I know that some in the Christian realm will not agree with this following statement, but I believe it to be true. There are those, who never heard the Gospel, who have lived what God would term “righteous” lives and have not served foreign gods out of ignorance; and these people will be excused on the Day of Judgment and allowed into His Kingdom. God is a just God, and that is a just act. And this will happen because although they had the propensity to sin because of their human nature, they denied the flesh and tried to seek a righteous God.

Some might say that there haven’t been people who have search out an unknown god. How could anyone with any wits worship anything that doesn’t have a name ascribed to it? Well, such a thing did happen in Athens and can be read in Acts, chapter 17:

Then certain philosophers of the Epicureans, and of the Stoicks, encountered him. And some said, What will this babbler say? other some, He seemeth to be a setter forth of strange gods: because he preached unto them Jesus, and the resurrection. And they took him, and brought him unto Areopagus, saying, May we know what this new doctrine, whereof thou speakest, is? For thou bringest certain strange things to our ears: we would know therefore what these things mean. (For all the Athenians and strangers which were there spent their time in nothing else, but either to tell, or to hear some new thing.)

Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars’ hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious. For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you. God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things; And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us: For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring. Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man’s device. And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead. And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked: and others said, We will hear thee again of this matter.  So Paul departed from among them. Howbeit certain men clave unto him, and believed: among the which was Dionysius the Areopagite, and a woman named Damaris, and others with them. Acts 17:18-34

So, it appears that down through history that there have been some who have sought out a righteous God. Paul says that those people, who didn’t know God’s name would “haply feel after him,” The word “haply” if defined as: by chance, luck or accident. God tells everyone that:

And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13

We have to take the word “haply” in its correct context; and when we do we can render the scripture in Acts as saying; if per chance you would seek the Lord, you will find Him. But it takes an action. Have you ever been given a dare where someone tells you to take a chance and do something you wouldn’t ordinarily do? And when you took that chance you had great results and were happy that you took that chance? That is the illustration there.

So, to summarize, even though we are born with the propensity to propel away from God, the spirit within each of us causes us to search out God. And those who listen to their conscience and obey its want to know about God will find Him. So the argument about genetics determining whether a person will become religious is a dead one when it is examined more thoroughly.

Genetics and history are two subjects that go hand in hand. It is because of genetics that most of history has been written. When you read about history from an extra-biblical sense you really don’t read many good things. History is the story of civilizations and how they came about and just the same, how they came to their demise. Sure there are some high points, like people who influenced mankind with philosophies, inventions and even sometimes benevolence; but you have to admit that the majority of history is written about wars, rumors of wars, forceful land acquisitions and men’s evil toward other men. Granted, many will read this and get all up in arms saying that I left out one of the worse offenders in all history; that being religion against religion. You are right, religious strife has made mankind look embarrassingly stupid. The question must always be asked, is it really religion fighting religion, or is it really one group of people who feels superior to another because of ancestry, race, creed or color, and they use religion for an excuse.

For instance, when the French and English came to North America many came to find religious freedom. When they arrived they saw the Native Americans as savages and tried to evangelize them. Sometimes this worked and the settlers lived side by side with their Indian hosts in relative peace. Most times the cause for friction between the two parties was that the Europeans were seizing the land from the Indians. In their minds, the land was fertile and the savages (who were different and primitive) didn’t know how to use it wisely, so they just evicted them and took over the land. So, the real intention for the wars between the Indians and the white settlers was caused due to thievery on the part of the Europeans. Most secular people turn this around and make it a Christian versus pagan issue, which it is not.

Europe before and during World War Two is another example. The Jews of Europe were very well off financially and were making political gains. They were the best bankers, the smartest teachers and the most successful doctor’s, lawyers and just about any other field you can think of. A person with a spiritual eye can see that what happened to the Jewish people before and during the war was good versus evil, but to the anti-Semitic person who lived in Europe at the time, the jealousy was turned into a religious hatred. To the German, who was born into a supposed “religious nation and society,” their jealousy and envy was excused in their seared conscience as religious indignation. Religion always gets a bad rap, especially when it is Christianity that is in focus. And, the true Christians; those who are born again and love God with all their hearts; always get the blame for the actions of those who are wolves in sheep’s clothing.

You can go just about anywhere in the world and you will see genetics dividing people. Below I will exhibit a few instances that I have seen myself. Being of Italian extraction, I’ll start with the Italians. If you go to Italy, and you bring up the subject of Sicily, some Italians will actually tell you that the Sicilians are not Italian. The premise is that Sicily has been conquered so many times that there is much mixed blood on the island. That causes some mainland Italians to consider Sicilians a different breed than the true Italians they consider themselves. That is one instance of genetics dividing a nation.

Another instance is the Latin American realm. Many may not realize it, but there is a hierarchy in Latin American society. Of course, those who are claim to be full Spanish claim to be highest in the caste system. The Cubans claim that they are second in line, followed by the Puerto Ricans and it goes all the way down the line till you get to those who are born Mexican. I’m not making this up and it is easily verifiable. I know it sounds stupid, but it all has to do with what sort of indigenous person is mixed with conquistador blood.

In Asia you will get mixed responses if you were to ask which culture is higher in scale than the other. Japanese will tell you they are at the top of the purity scale; while the Chinese will tell you that their culture is more ancient, thus more pure. All over the world it’s a mess, all because of how genetics is equated to what secular society calls the “races.” Indigenous Europeans will tell you that whites are a higher class; Asians will tell you that they are more highly developed than the other races; and those in Africa will tell you that Africans are the favored race. Perhaps some day we will all realize that we are one race, the human race. That’s how God see us, why should we see each other differently than he does.

Genetics was the cause of the worse human disaster in history. It started with a group of people in Germany who had the audacity to think that since they had light skin, blue eyes and blonde hair, they were Aryan which they considered to be the master race. On the other side of the world, the Japanese, who believed they were the master race started to conquer lands they felt were inferior to theirs. By the time it was all over, over 50 million people had died in a world war that still haunts our memory. Aryanism’s biggest victim was the Jewish people, whom Hitler placed so low on his genetic scale that he considered them to be almost totally apelike. He reduced their status to the lowest common denominator and stripped away their humanity. His genetic beliefs caused him to convince scores of Germans and other Europeans that Jews were less than human; merely animals. Animals are much easier to kill so giving them that status along with labeling them “Christ Killers,” made Germans numb to the fact that genocide was happening all over Europe. When it was over, the world had lost over 33 percent (6 million) Jewish souls. I’m sorry if I sound repetitive, but the Holocaust is the best example of how adherence to the genetic creed ruins a person, a group of people, states, nations, civilizations and all of humanity.

We read in magazines and books today how genetics is claimed to be the cause of many things. Those who promote homosexuality as a viable lifestyle have effectively perverted genetics by saying that they are born homosexual. So, what God calls a sinful lifestyle has been explained away as a genetic anomaly and has been accepted as an “alternative lifestyle.”

Some have speculated that some criminals who commit serious crimes like murders, rapes and other heinous acts are actually born with that propensity. They blame it on genetics, saying that those criminals couldn’t help themselves and should be spared the punishment that is due their crime. Other believe that these genetic defects can be overcome with rehabilitation and they stick to that theory even though the recidivism rate proves them to be wrong.

It used to be, and still is to some extent, the practice of those who sin to blame their actions on how they were brought up. If their parent was a drunk then they would be. If they were brought up under a father who abused their mother they would too abuse their spouse. Everything was blamed on the sins of the fathers. Don’t get me wrong, sometimes this is true, but we have to realize that we have turned into a society that blames their problems on others rather than accepting the consequences for their own actions. I don’t know the statistics, so I’m not an expert in this; but I’ll bet that for every person who blames their parents for their own actions, there are ten people who raised up in similar circumstances who grew up to be fine citizens in society. But happy stories never get good press and you can’t get any grant money to study good results, so studies on bad results always make the medical and legal journals as well as the news media.

We’re rapidly heading toward being a society that wants to get rid of things that it finds ugly or not useful. We throw away everything the minute it gets a scratch on it or if a new thing comes out to make the old thing obsolete. If it is something that gets in the way, it is removed or destroyed.

We started to see this in the 1970’s when abortion became legal. Suddenly, if a pregnancy got in the way, the baby could be cut up, suctioned out and thrown in a bin with other murdered children. Then we decided that we didn’t want our elderly parents and grandparents around. They are a nuisance to take care of and they take up to much of our precious time. So we started to take our precious elders; the ones with all the knowledge and stuck them into nursing homes. We comforted ourselves that they would be well cared for and comfortable. It didn’t matter that they live in squalor, getting bed sores while wasting away in facilities that constantly smell of urine. Now, there’s a drive to make it so that these often termed “once valuable” members of society can commit suicide should they feel that they don’t want to live anymore. But who’s to make the final decision? We’ve learned that living wills aren’t honored by the courts should a family member object to it. Will it be that sometime in the near future that some doctor will decide that they’re tired of taking care of someone who just won’t die and they’ll write the order to kill the patient? Will it be some nursing home director who decides that someone on the waiting list has better insurance that will pay the facility more? Will it be a family member who sees the patient’s fortune dwindling away from medical costs and out of greed, demands that the person be put to sleep, supposedly for their own good? We’re heading down that road folks; it’s just around the bend.

But the real question in this article is what about the Christians and the Jews. We’re the only people who believe in the real God; the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel. We’re an anomaly in this world. God made us that way and He proves it in His Word:

To the Jewish People he says:

Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: Exodus 19:5

For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God, and the LORD hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all the nations that are upon the earth. Deuteronomy 14:2

And the LORD hath avouched thee this day to be his peculiar people, as he hath promised thee, and that thou shouldest keep all his commandments; Deuteronomy 26:18

And to the Christian, God says:

Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. Titus 2:14

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light: 1 Peter 2:9

I just had to go to the Merriam Webster website and see how it defined the word “peculiar,” and here are the results of the search:

Main Entry: 1pe·cu·liar
Pronunciation: pi-'kyül-y&r
Function: adjective
Etymology: Middle English peculier, from Latin peculiaris of private property, special, from peculium private property, from pecu cattle; akin to Latin pecus cattle
1 : characteristic of only one person, group, or thing : DISTINCTIVE
2 : different from the usual or normal: a : SPECIAL, PARTICULAR b : ODD, CURIOUS c : ECCENTRIC

Modern society has taken this word and has redefined it to me some sort of bad thing, but it really is a special word. Looking at the highlighted section, you can see that in Latin it means “private property,” “special.” We’re God’s special private property. We’re a distinctive group, different from what is normal. Now how many of you know that this sort of person stands out in this world.

Now, being different for Messiah’s sake is a wonderful thing if you’re in His camp, but from the world’s perspective we’re not exactly welcomed. If you’ve been a Born Again Christian for any period of time you know that the world holds a magnifying glass to us and they’re always keeping a close eye on us. How many of us have been cut to the quick when someone of the world accuses us of being worldly. It’s like a knife that cuts clear through to the heart. Besides, being rebuked by a sinner isn’t exactly a claim to fame, if you know what I mean.

Yeshua warned us about how the world thinks of us many times. After all, it hated Him so we should be ready to accept that hatred when it is focused on us:

I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. John 17:14

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. John 16:33

If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. John 15:18

Do you know why some of your neighbors really don’t like you? Well, it’s because when they see you, you remind them of Yeshua. When the think of Yeshua, they, in their demented knowledge of Him, think of their sin. If a neighbor is secretly cheating on their spouse, they see you and their spirit hears the words, “thou shalt not commit adultery.” When a person at work is stealing from your employer and they see you their spirit hears, “thou shalt not steal.” When your neighbor has had an abortion and afterward they see you their spirit hears, “thou shalt not commit murder.” The list goes on and on. We are temples of the Holy Spirit. Part of the Holy Spirit’s mission in this world is to convict the world of sin.

So, wouldn’t it be convenient for the world to be rid of us? It would be so easy for them to fornicate, murder, steal and all without license if we weren’t on earth to remind them that there is an authority that will demand recompense for their actions. Well, I have to admit, that after a day of hard work, then some time in front of the idiot television tube and maybe brushing against maladjusted member of society in front of a local market, I’m ready to be gone from here and and leave them to their stupid decaying world. It will be so nice on the day when we hear the ram’s horn blow and hear Yeshua call us to heaven. But until then, we’ll be hated for Yeshua’s sake.

We saw how the Germans and other Europeans solved what they thought to be a problem in the last century. They took a group of people, convinced themselves through vain philosophies that evolution was right, and through that process they, in their minds reduced the Jewish people, gypsies and others into a class of sub-humans. With that in mind, the murder of so many was easy and to some, it was considered doing God a service.

But let’s look at things. The world is a messed up place these days. Could it be in the future of many of us for us to be labeled as unstable, faulty and a nuisance because we (according to the article above) are programmed genetically to be religious? Could it be possible that this will lead to persecution, torture and death in like manner of what happened in Nazi Europe? Only God knows the answer to that question. But, I think that in a world that leans more and more toward decay and debauchery each and every day, it would be convenient to label us as “peculiar,” in their definition of the term. Could our future be concentration camps and maybe even ovens? I’m not writing this to scare anyone, but we have to consider all possibilities. We’ve seen many times how people with strange ideas lord themselves over others that they see as less superior. Our world is crying out for democracy. They will get socialism in its place and we saw where socialism got Germany, Russia and other places where it was rampant. I think that what I’ve been inspired to write here should make any Christian who reads it to think soberly about what is real. We all think that these sort of things will happen in some other land, to some other people and so forth. But we have to think that the people being affected by hatred toward Christians thought the same things a few years back.

Personally, I think that persecution of professing Christians who live in relatively safe nations right now might be beneficial. We’ve become too soft, too complacent, too burdened down with the cares of this world and we will have to undergo a process of persecution. It seems to be the only thing that keeps the church pure. Persecution separates the wheat from the chaff. It causes the believer to become a stronger believer and it causes the Church to grow in numbers. This isn’t a happy newsletter is it?

We need to be in prayer a lot more. We need to be fasting and seeking the Lord. We need to repent of the sins that we all have been party to. We have to learn to love the Lord with all of our being and in all of our actions as well as in our words. We need to really be that peculiar people; sanctified and set apart for God. Instead of having stickers on our cars that read WWJD, we need to be living stickers that read DWJWD (Do What Jesus Would Do) or perhaps RPF (Repent Pray and Fast). I could go on and on, but we all have the Holy Spirit living inside us. Let’s pray that our Lord would use His Spirit to talk to us and show each of us what to do. I’ll pray for you; will you pray for me? Thanks in advance for the prayer.

Okay, let’s get one thing out of the way right here and now. This article was originally posted in the Delusion Resistance Newsletter for the month of September, 2006. Now that it is an article on the regular website I know that many will read the article. Some in that population will see that horrible word, the “J” word, and they will be apprehensive about reading on. Let me enforce with all assuredness that it is okay to judge things and even people. There are many words in the Greek that are all translated out “judge” or “judgment” in the Brit Hadasha. If however one does a study (see our site map) in the original language, in this case Greek, one will see that in each instance where “judge” is used in our English Bibles, it takes on varied meanings and can only be correctly translated by using the word in the proper context for the application in question. This is where original language word studies come in so handy. So, let me clarify that the word for “judge” that I am using here, in the Greek is the word krino {kree’-no} and it means: to separate, put asunder, to pick out, select, choose. Basically, it means to discriminate.  The word “discriminate” has gotten a bad rap in modern society. In modern times this word is used to depict someone or a group of people who are of the opinion that they or someone that they know are better than another group of people. And by the definition of the word, that is discrimination.

The word “discrimination” can have many good meanings. If you are a two car family, and you cannot discriminate the difference between the two keys then the chances are that you’re not going to get very far in your travels. If you bake things and can’t discriminate between baking powder and alum then the chances are that you’re going to have a lot of people walking around with cotton mouth. And finally, if you’re asked to jump start the car of someone who has a dead battery, and you can’t discriminate between the positive and negative leads the chances are that you’re going to burn out the charging system of at least one of the vehicles.

God Himself could be accused of discrimination by using today’s standards, as we see in the following scripture:

Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. 1 Peter 5:5

Now we all know that Yahweh is just, and His ways are righteous. The Greek word for resisteth (resists) is antitassomai {an-tee-tas’-som-ahee}, and it means; to range in battle against, to oppose oneself; to resist. So what the scripture is saying is that Yahweh postures Himself in battle against a prideful people, but He shows amnesty and peace toward those that are humble. Yes, Yahweh does discriminate, but in purity and righteousness. That is the same way that His People are supposed to judge.

And true judgment can be explained by the following:

For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh. Luke 6:43-45

So the litmus test is to see the finished product of a person’s intent. But the finished product isn’t the only thing that we should judge. We should judge everything we see, do, think, say and purpose with how it lines up with Yahweh’s Word; The Bible. Not only are we to judge our own intentions by this final authority, but also the deeds and intentions of others as well. Whereas the world vacillates between good and bad depending on the mood and desires of those who are in control of things at the time in question; the Bible is firm and never changing. Although people try to corrupt it’s meaning, the original intent of Yahweh always shouts out like a thousand trumpets proclaiming His fidelity to His own Word, and His Word’s fidelity to Him.

So the purpose of this article is to show that when a person comes to faith in Yeshua, in a true and genuine Born Again life, that they are a new creature; a new creation of Yahweh. In that, there is a difference in both lifestyle, attitude and life’s purpose. If you read this article and feel judged, then you are; Yahweh’s Word says just that:

Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me; Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged. John 16:7-11

But you don’t have to remain in this condition and can just repent and be saved. Look at the index to find out more about that. The information in the next few following sections is from the United States, Nation Institute of Health website which is located at the address in the section below:

What Is DNA?

DNA, or deoxyribonucleic acid, is the hereditary material in humans and almost all other organisms. Nearly every cell in a person’s body has the same DNA. Most DNA is located in the cell nucleus (where it is called nuclear DNA), but a small amount of DNA can also be found in the mitochondria (where it is called mitochondrial DNA or mtDNA).

The information in DNA is stored as a code made up of four chemical bases: adenine (A), guanine (G), cytosine (C), and thymine (T). Human DNA consists of about 3 billion bases, and more than 99 percent of those bases are the same in all people. The order, or sequence, of these bases determines the information available for building and maintaining an organism, similar to the way in which letters of the alphabet appear in a certain order to form words and sentences.

DNA bases pair up with each other, A with T and C with G, to form units called base pairs. Each base is also attached to a sugar molecule and a phosphate molecule. Together, a base, sugar, and phosphate are called a nucleotide. Nucleotides are arranged in two long strands that form a spiral called a double helix. The structure of the double helix is somewhat like a ladder, with the base pairs forming the ladder’s rungs and the sugar and phosphate molecules forming the vertical sidepieces of the ladder.

An important property of DNA is that it can replicate, or make copies of itself. Each strand of DNA in the double helix can serve as a pattern for duplicating the sequence of bases. This is critical when cells divide because each new cell needs to have an exact copy of the DNA present in the old cell. How can gene mutations affect health and development?

To function correctly, each cell depends on thousands of proteins to do their jobs in the right places at the right times. Sometimes, gene mutations prevent one or more of these proteins from working properly. By changing a gene’s instructions for making a protein, a mutation can cause the protein to malfunction or to be missing entirely. When a mutation alters a protein that plays a critical role in the body, it can disrupt normal development or cause a medical condition. A condition caused by mutations in one or more genes is called a genetic disorder. In some cases, gene mutations are so severe that they prevent an embryo from surviving until birth. These changes occur in genes that are essential for development, and often disrupt the development of an embryo in its earliest stages. Because these mutations have very serious effects, they are incompatible with life.

It is important to note that genes themselves do not cause disease—genetic disorders are caused by mutations that make a gene function improperly. For example, when people say that someone has “the cystic fibrosis gene,” they are usually referring to a mutated version of the CFTR gene, which causes the disease. All people, including those without cystic fibrosis, have a version of the CFTR gene.

What is a gene mutation and how do mutations occur?

A gene mutation is a permanent change in the DNA sequence that makes up a gene. Mutations range in size from a single DNA building block (DNA base) to a large segment of a chromosome.Gene mutations occur in two ways: they can be inherited from a parent or acquired during a person’s lifetime. Mutations that are passed from parent to child are called hereditary mutations or germline mutations (because they are present in the egg and sperm cells, which are also called germ cells). This type of mutation is present throughout a person’s life in virtually every cell in the body.Mutations that occur only in an egg or sperm cell, or those that occur just after fertilization, are called new (de novo) mutations. De novo mutations may explain genetic disorders in which an affected child has a mutation in every cell, but has no family history of the disorder.

Acquired (or somatic) mutations occur in the DNA of individual cells at some time during a person’s life. These changes can be caused by environmental factors such as ultraviolet radiation from the sun, or can occur if a mistake is made as DNA copies itself during cell division. Acquired mutations in somatic cells (cells other than sperm and egg cells) cannot be passed on to the next generation.

Mutations may also occur in a single cell within an early embryo. As all the cells divide during growth and development, the individual will have some cells with the mutation and some cells without the genetic change. This situation is called mosaicism.

Some genetic changes are very rare; others are common in the population. Genetic changes that occur in more than 1 percent of the population are called polymorphisms. They are common enough to be considered a normal variation in the DNA. Polymorphisms are responsible for many of the normal differences between people such as eye color, hair color, and blood type. Although many polymorphisms have no negative effects on a person’s health, some of these variations may influence the risk of developing certain disorders.

Do all gene mutations affect health and development?

No; only a small percentage of mutations cause genetic disorders—most have no impact on health or development. For example, some mutations alter a gene’s DNA base sequence but do not change the function of the protein made by the gene.Often, gene mutations that could cause a genetic disorder are repaired by certain enzymes before the gene is expressed (makes a protein). Each cell has a number of pathways through which enzymes recognize and repair mistakes in DNA. Because DNA can be damaged or mutated in many ways, DNA repair is an important process by which the body protects itself from disease.A very small percentage of all mutations actually have a positive effect. These mutations lead to new versions of proteins that help an organism and its future generations better adapt to changes in their environment. For example, a beneficial mutation could result in a protein that protects the organism from a new strain of bacteria.

Genes And Our Inheritance:

Inheritance is a strange thing. The vast majority of people in this world have probably never heard of that word. That is because most of the world lives in a condition where inheritance is rare. The inheritance that most people on earth receive on the death of a loved one are the memories of that loved one. They have the treasure of remembering the rich things in life; love between a parent and child; an aunt or uncle with their niece or nephew and any number of combinations that you can think of. Life’s lessons are another inheritance that many people receive. Good advice and how to use it in life’s situations are invaluable. You can have all of the money in the world, and if you lack common sense all of that money is really worthless. The lesson of how to show true and genuine love to people is another inheritance that we receive from loved ones before they departed from this life. And probably the best inheritance is when someone shares their faith in Yeshua with a nonbeliever and they accept and find the grace and peace that one finds when they are in God’s love. What a wonderful gift to pass on to other generations.

We inherit physical and emotional traits from our loved ones too. How many times will parents of a newborn child comment to each other about how that child had a nose like the father and the eyes of the mother, and so on. As we get older we see ourselves becoming almost clone-like, an image of one parent or another. We notice that we picked up little habits or traits that our parents have or had. And even if the trait is something that we do not like, and we try to deny it or rid ourselves of it, it still hangs on and refuses to go. That is because it is part of our inheritance from our fathers and forefathers.

Sadly we have to admit that there are bad traits that we pick up from our parents. Someone might pick up anger from their parent while in the same family, a brother and sister will pick up passivity from the other parent. One child might be an introvert; never wanting to leave their home, while the other child becomes the extravert; a mister or miss popularity that just can’t get enough of people or events. Abusers tend to spawn abusers and children of alcoholics are more likely to become alcoholics themselves. Of course, many of these things aren’t in the actual gene pool of the family, but are acquired because of family dynamics. But when one thinks of it, they are still passed down, and that is an inheritance.

One good example of genes being passed down can be seen in the study of twins, especially if they are identical. Numerous studies have been conducted on twins, triplets and others of like status who were separated at birth or as young children. When these children are reunited as adults they are astonished to find that most of their traits are the same. Not only do they look alike, but they play the same instruments, have married similar women or men, have similar or the same profession, and their likes and dislikes are almost identical. This cannot be attributed to chance or dumb luck, but has to be a genetic predisposition encoded into the genetic structure of each individual.

The Original Human Genetic Condition:

Many in the scientific realm now agree that humans had a ancestral pair of progenitors. That, meaning that there was a first male and female of humankind. They place their existence in a different place and at a far earlier time, but they agree with the Bible’s statement that there was an Adam and Chava at the beginning of the human race. We’ll assume (and quite assuredly at that) that both Adam and Chava both possessed the genes to make every human variety that there is on earth; from the darkest skin color to the lightest; from the darkest eyes to the lightest; from the blondest hair to the darkest, etc. We’ll also assuredly assume that every variety that is between in all of those categories was available too in their gene makeup. We also have to assume that there was aesthetic perfection in their visage too.

But aside from their physical appearance I believe that they were psychologically perfect and perfect in every part of their demeanor. Before their fall to temptation they lived in a perfect creation without the hindrances of sin and the corruption that rebellion brings. Their conversation at the end of a day wasn’t centered about how lousy the job was or how it is so hard to keep the house clean. Their conversation was probably centered around the blessings that they received from Yahweh, and how they could tend the garden to better serve Him. As illustrated in Genesis, there were times when Yahweh would come to fellowship with them. So, it was just about as perfect as perfect gets; at least for a little while. And we find out just how great it was by looking at the following scripture:

And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. Genesis 1:31

Now let’s look at the meanings of a couple of Hebrew words in the passage to see just how great the newly formed creation was.

Strongs Very
Strongs H3966 m@`od {meh-ode’}

1) exceedingly, much
2) might, force, abundance
3) muchness, force, abundance, exceedingly
    a) force, might
    b) exceedingly, greatly, very (idioms showing magnitude or degree)
        1) exceedingly
        2) up to abundance, to a great degree, exceedingly
        3) with muchness, muchness

Strongs: Good
Strongs H2896  towb {tobe}

1) good, pleasant, agreeable
    a) pleasant, agreeable (to the senses)
    b) pleasant (to the higher nature)
    c) good, excellent (of its kind)
    d) good, rich, valuable in estimation
    e) good, appropriate, becoming
    f) better (comparative)
    g) glad, happy, prosperous (of man’s sensuous nature)
    h) good understanding (of man’s intellectual nature)
    i) good, kind, benign
    j) good, right (ethical)

What a wonderful insight we get of Elohim’s new creation when we read the original language. The word for “good” is Tobe, or in its present usage it is pronounced Tov. It is the same word that is used to announce a good morning, evening or night to a person. If someone in Israel asked you how you are doing, you could just look at them and say Tov, toda, or good, thanks. The richness of the scripture comes when we look at the word for “very.” The word meh-ode means exceedingly abundant. So, a rendition of the phrase would read that the creation was good with exceedingly abundance. It almost sounds like Yahweh is expressing that He did such a good job at creating the universe that He exceeded His own expectations; if that were possible. So when we look at Adam and subsequently at Chava, we see that they weren’t just a good creation, but were perfection in its highest form. Their genetic makeup was flawless; there is no other way to look at it.

All Was Not Well In Paradise:

Adam and Chava were perfect in every way. Not only were they physically perfect, but they had a perfect intellect. Many people, when they think of the couple tend to think of them as just a couple of ignorant early humans who were only given enough intelligence to be able to name the animals and tend the Garden of Eden. The truth is that they were created as adults, not as children. Adam is told right at the beginning:

And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. Genesis 2:15

The Hebrew word for “dress” is `abad {aw-bad’}, and it means to labor or to do work. It also means to be tilled or worked. The Hebrew word for “keep,” shamar {shaw-mar’} is very interesting; it means to protect, guard, observe or to watch. The two jobs that Yahweh gave to Adam weren’t jobs that some ignorant know nothing could do. Farming and husbandry both take a great deal of skill and the ability to pick up knowledge and use that knowledge as its use becomes necessary. It is interesting that Yahweh commissions Adam to be a watchman or guard for the garden. This usage of terms seems to suggest that there is an enemy that the Garden needs to be protected from. Of course we know that the enemy was Satan. The timing of this commission also suggests that Satan, and his angels’ fall from grace happened before this time. Notice also that only Adam is given this commission, and not Chava. Yahweh would have given Adam instructions about how to guard the Garden and what to look out for. Being the guard, he would have always been at a higher alert level than Chava, sort of like a security guard in a department store is always at a higher state of alert than the sales persons who work there. This would have made Chava an easier target for Satan, and one easier to deceive.

Just as a side note, I feel that we should explore the nature of the serpent that beguiled Chava. The word for serpent is Nachash, and in its normal form, it means “serpent.” But, when one looks at the root of Nachash we come up with the following:

The Hebrew word rendered serpent in Genesis 3:1 is Nachash (from the root Nachash, to shine, and means a shining one. Hence, in Chaldee it means brass or copper, because of its shining. Hence also, the word Nehushtan, a piece of brass, in 2Kings 18:4.

In the same way Saraph, in Isaiah 6:2,6, means a burning one, and, because the serpents mentioned in Numbers 21 were burning, in the poison of their bite, they were called Saraphim, or Seraphs.

But when the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent (Numbers 21:8), He said, Make thee a Saraph, and, in obeying this command, we read in verse 9, Moses made a Nachash of brass. Nachash is thus used as being interchangeable with Saraph.

Now, if Saraph is used of a serpent because its bite was burning, and is also used of a celestial or spirit-being (a burning one), why should not Nachas be used of a serpent because its appearance was shining, and be also used of a celestial or spirit-being (a shining one)? Appendix 19 of the Companion Bible

It makes much more sense to understand Chava’s being deceived when one realized that the Nachash (the shining one) was actually an angelic shining being that spoke to her. Any story of her being beguiled by a snake (serpent) sitting in a tree makes Chava look like some backwoods ignoramus who couldn’t spell words with more than three letters. But by our knowing that she was created from the rib of Adam, and that she possessed perfection herself, and was equally as intelligent as Adam makes us realize that Satan’s deception was more than just a simple come-on line.

Adam and Chava were created with a dangerous ability. Just like you and me, they had the freedom of choice. We know this partly because Yahweh had to command them to do certain things. Had they not had freedom of choice then Yahweh could have just programmed them to be robotic drones, much like worker bees in a bee colony; only having specific jobs and not a mind of their own. The classic scripture that proves their personal choice ability is when Yahweh tells them not to eat of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, telling them that should they do so, they would die.

Now to further prove their intelligence, we have to look at how Satan deceived Chava. If she had been some individual with a base intelligence then Satan could have just showed her the fruit and espoused its finer attributes. He could have said, “hey, what does Yahweh know. This fruit is pleasant to the touch, it smells great and its taste is to die for.” No pun intended. But even Satan knew that Chava possessed a superior intellect, so he had to bypass her knowledge and appeal to her flesh. The ultimate purpose of the flesh is to have freedom from Yahweh and to have self control and self autonomy. The promise of a great tasting piece of fruit, while it would temporarily satiate the flesh still bore the promise of death. He promised her that if she ate of the fruit, she could become like God. The promise of godhood was just too much to pass up. And of course, we all know how the story went. A perfect analogy is seen in gambling. If you had only ten dollars and someone told you that if your gamble would get you twenty dollars, you’d think hard about it. Sure, twenty dollars would be nice, but the ten that you have in your pocket will buy you a couple of meals and that food will help you to survive longer. If you lost it in the gamble, you’d starve, right? But if someone came up to you and said that there’s a sure fire way to parlay that ten dollars into two or three million dollars then the promise is much better. Of course, you still have the same chances that you’ll lose your ten dollars, but the hope of a better reward should you win, is extremely tempting. If you win, you’ll be a financial god; able to afford just about anything, having no worry and living fat and sassy. You start to think about losing. If I lose I’ll be able to get another ten dollars in a couple of weeks. I could starve for that long should I lose, ponder. You start to think that you could always ask someone for money if you lost the gamble. Maybe the person placing the bet would have compassion on you and, seeing your situation, will give you the money back. I’m sure that some similar thoughts went through Chava’s head before she acquiesced to the temptations of Satan. The thing is that Yahweh has to stick by His own word. He has to abide by His own decisions and rules and He couldn’t change them for anyone who was in rebellion.

And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. 1 Timothy 2:14

So, if Adam was not deceived, then why did he eat of the fruit from a tree that he was commanded not to eat from? Well, I guess that people have speculated about that throughout time. My personal view is that Chava was the only possession on Earth that Adam really cared for. She was a part of him, bone of his bone and flesh of his flesh. She was his companion, his confidant and someone that he loved dearly. He love her so much so that he deliberately rebelled against Yahweh in order that she would not have to forego the punishment alone. He was a type of the future Messiah, who would love His Church so much that he was willing to die for her. Something to chew on for quite a while, don’t you think?

What Was Lost In The Fall of Mankind?

The act of Adam an Chava’s rebellion against God was one that could not go unpunished. It’s fairly simple to deduce what humankind lost as a result of that rebellion. When we look at the scripture below, we can get some idea of what was lost by seeing what is taken from from Adam and Chava, or by what the received in the way of punishment.

Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee. And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return. And Adam called his wife’s name Eve; because she was the mother of all living. Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them. And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken. So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life. Genesis 3:16-24

God first addresses Chava, probably because was the first of the two to rebel against Yahweh’s commandment not to eat the fruit. The words in Hebrew for what Yahweh told Chava are as follows:

  • sorrow = `itstsabown {its-tsaw-bone’} = pain, labor, hardship or sorrow or toil
  • conception = herown {hay-rone’} or herayown {hay-raw-yone’} = physical conception or pregnancy
  • sorrow = `etseb {eh’-tseb} = pain, hurt toil hardship, labour
  • desire = t@shuwqah {tesh-oo-kaw’} = desire, longing or craving – a man for a woman or a woman for a man.

So in essence what Yahweh was saying is that pregnancy would not be easy, but would be painful or a laborious thing. He also says that the act of childbirth would be painful. And thirdly, he would make it a natural thing for women to long and crave for their husbands. It’s not very hard, by looking at these things to see what Chava lost as a result of the fall. Just reversing the proclamations shows that Yahweh’s plan before the fall was for pregnancy to be a relatively easy thing. It’s possible that had the fall not occurred, all of the complications that accompany the nine months of gestation would not be present. Women would not have the pain and discomfort that they currently have and there would be no reason to wonder what the condition of the child is while it is in the womb. The act of childbirth before the fall would have most likely been painless and the healing would have been accelerated or possibly unnecessary. It’s hard to speculate what the human anatomy was like before the fall. And finally, instead of being a co-laborer with Adam, Chava was now to be subservient to him.

Before the fall, Adam’s job was to dress and keep the garden of Eden. Because of the perfect condition of the creation his job was probably very easy. God proclaims that the ground was cursed from then on and that Adam would reap a crop, but it would be a great toil for him. He and Chava ate herbs, along with other things, like fruit and other vegetables before the fall and the harvest was probably plentiful and simple. Now, with the fall, Adam had weeds growing in his garden, and not just the normal type of weed, but thorns and thistles. He would have to weed his gardens all of the time and when it came time to harvest he was probably pricked many times by those thorns and thistles. Also, the perfect conditions of the garden were gone and Adam had to toil and labor under the hot sun, causing him to be covered with perspiration and dust. It must have been a terrible curse to bear after living in paradise. Imagine the shame that the couple must have felt. Having been made from the clay of the earth and then exalted to be a special creation of Yahweh, only to sin and be made to till the very material that you are made from. It must have been a very humbling experience. Equally tormenting would be the thought that he and Chava had condemned all of their offspring to the same fate.

But what was the big daddy of all of the consequences of eating the forbidden fruit? Well of course, as illustrated in the scripture below, it was death:

But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. Genesis 2:17

Unfortunately, this scripture has been used by many who are ignorant to prove to themselves that the Bible is filled with inaccuracies. Obviously, Chava nor Adam died as a result of eating the forbidden fruit. If that were so, the Bible would be an easy read of only about three chapters total. But two things were set into effect when the disobedience occurred. First, the propensity of physical death became a real and present danger. If genetics played into the scenario, then the gene that would have led to perpetual longevity was deactivated and the gene for a limited longevity was activated. But we have to note in the Genesis chapter three scripture that Yahweh is concerned that the couple not be able to eat from the tree of life because it would allow the couple to live in perpetual sin forever. It’s possible that that tree contained some sort of compound that would reverse the genetic change that had just occurred because of their rebellion. It’s also possible to speculate that the tree’s effect was a metaphor with spiritual implications; sort of like when Moses cast the snake of bronze in the wilderness and everyone who looked at it was healed. This is really an unknown thing that we will have to wait to ask until we get to glory.

Physical death isn’t a comforting thought, to say the least. Although that is bad news, there is a worse sort of death that is involved in the fall of mankind. That death is a separation from fellowship with Yahweh. If not dealt with, this death results in a permanent second death as spoken of in Revelation, eternal separation from Yahweh, which in itself is torment enough.

There is evidence that Yahweh used to visit Adam and Chava periodically as seen in the following scripture:

And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden. Genesis 3:8

Adam and Chava noticed immediately that there had been some sort of change. When they heard Yahweh walking in the garden they were afraid. It was probably the first time they had ever experienced fear:

And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself. And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat? Genesis 3:9-11

Now Yahweh wasn’t being ignorant. He knew that a transgression had occurred. He just wanted to have Adam confess to what he (Adam) had done. After all, he was basically in charge in the Garden of Eden and to whomsoever much is given, much is required. So Adam, the once perfect man, decides to place the blame on Chava. Chivalry died that day.

And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat. Genesis 3:12

With fear comes the dread of consequences. How many times when we were children we thought that if we could place the blame on a sibling or a neighbor kid we could skate away free from the situation, only to be caught in the lie and punished more severely. Well, at least that is what happened to me. The actions of Adam that particular day weren’t the actions of a creation devoid of imperfection, but one of a creation trying to justify their actions; hence, sin.

Sin is an ancient word that basically means a person misses the mark of perfection. In the Middle Ages archers practiced on targets much like archers and shooters do today. Targets have a center point that is known as the bull’s-eye. If one hits within the bulls-eye it is a perfect score, but if the projectile hits outside the bulls-eye it is off the mark and not perfect. When Adam and Chava committed their rebellious act, they caused a gap between mankind and Yahweh; a separation with a wide chasm that no man could ever cross over. This has been passed down in our genetic code since that day.

The Apostle John summed up the Human genetic condition with the following scripture, when writing to the Church:

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.  1 John 2:16

Notice that all things mentioned in the scripture have to do with the flesh and the mind; all of which are dictated to by our genetic makeup. Another scripture to back this up is:

Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. Matthew 26:41

So we have the words of Yeshua Himself, telling us that the flesh is in a fallen state, in genetic degradation. Since this is true, it seems that mankind doesn’t have a chance of making things right with Yahweh. Science will never be able to find the gene that is faulty, I believe simply because Yahweh has recessed that gene so far into the genome of humanity that only HE can fix it.

Levi Genes vs. Yahweh Cords

Forgive the play on words. I think we would all be disappointed if I hadn’t attempted that pun. Perhaps an explanation is in order for those who didn’t grow up in the 60’s or 70’s here in the states. Back then we had two types of casual pants to wear; Jeans and Corduroys. The jeans were like what we see today and the cords were made of fabric that had little ridges on it and if you worked it right, they would make a whoop-ahh sound when you walked. So, with that out of the way, we will proceed.

Many empires, nations, peoples and tribes have throughout the millennia tried to reconcile mankind to God, or their version of a god. This act is known as Religion. Religion is defined as a person or groups attempt to reconcile themselves to God. This has been done in a variety of different ways, from self denial, abstaining of foods or self flagellation or mutilation. Some have resorted to sacrificing conquered peoples and some have sacrificed women or children to appease their interpretation of god. But the key factor in all of these things is a person thinking that they can actually do an act that would cause God to change their fallen state. Well, a person has a better chance of trying to change the Gulf Stream current by sticking their foot in the ocean or causing the earth to stop spinning by blowing real hard while facing east; it just can’t be done.

Yahweh, the Lord God of Israel knew this and implemented a system to show mankind that it is impossible to appease God by human efforts. After the exodus from Egypt He sat Moshe down and wrote down in total 613 commandments. To make it easy on the average person, He chose ten that were very important to keep. He also implemented several laws that dealt with the passing over of sins via offerings and animal sacrifices. The offering and sacrifice laws were created in order to cover the sins of the people because the commandments were basically impossible to keep. While this might seem harsh and unfair of Yahweh, it was done to show that man’s attempt to please God could never satisfy the requirements of a Holy God. The offerings and sacrifices did however have a benefit. Yahweh knew that someday in the future He would have to provide the sacrifice in man’s behalf because only perfection could offer a perfect sacrifice. Only Yahweh could restore the genetic makeup of mankind to its original state. Only perfect can make perfect.

So how can a person be reconciled to Yahweh? How can they have their genetic structure changed so that they are acceptable to Yahweh? It’s quite simple; a person has to become born again. So we have the words of Yeshua; His telling us that a person has to be born of the Spirit. Notice that the word Spirit is capitalized. It’s capitalization means that it denotes the Ruach Ha Kodesh, or the Holy Spirit of Yahweh. How is this done?

Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be? Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things? Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness. If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? John 3:3-12

And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. John 3:14-21

Notice that Yeshua says that anyone who believes on Him will have eternal life. Now remember that Adam and Chava were cast from the Garden of Eden so that they could not eat from the Tree of Life. So the simple act of faith allows us to enter the garden (so to speak) and partake of the Tree of Life. Yeshua is our Tree of Life.

But there are other proofs in the Bible that show that when we come to faith in Yeshua we are no longer the same. Is it possible to have our DNA changed? Is it possible to become a new creation and leave the old creation behind? Well, let’s look at some scriptures that seem to make that assertion.

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17

There are some interesting Greek words in this passage. We should explore them to find out what they actually mean:

Strongs: New

Strongs  G2537   kainos {kahee-nos’}

1) new
a) as respects form
1) recently made, fresh, recent, unused, unworn
b) as respects substance
1) of a new kind, unprecedented, novel, uncommon, unheard of

Strongs: Creature

Strongs  G2937  ktisis {ktis’-is}

1) the act of founding, establishing, building etc
a) the act of creating, creation
b) creation i.e. thing created
1) of individual things, beings, a creature, a creation
a) anything created

Oh, what wonderful things when we study the original language of the scripture. Look at the word for “new.” Yes, it can mean new in its common meaning, but it can also mean something never heard of before, a new kind. We are peculiar.

Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. Titus 2:14

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: 1 Peter 2:9

The Greek words for “peculiar” are differently spelled in each passage, but each has a similar meaning; that being called out and set apart for Yahweh’s purposes. He’s made us a new creation for the express purposes of serving Him.

So if we paraphrase the passage it could read, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is recently made, fresh, unused and unworn; he is a new kind  of uncommon and previously unheard of being, creature or creation.” That sort of adds a whole new dimension to our relationship with Yahweh, doesn’t it?

The next passage that talks about us being new creations is:

For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature. Galatians 6:15

In Galatians we are basically told the same thing except that the division is made between Jews and Gentiles, and the abolishing away thereof if anyone is a new creation in Messiah Yeshua.

We are then told that our genetic renewal is something that only Yahweh can be given credit for. It is also mentioned that this new genetic structure was foreordained by Yahweh Himself for the express purpose that we use our new status to shew good works for Messiah Yeshua.

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10

It might sometimes be a hard burden to bear, knowing that we’re new creations with new genetic makeup. Sometimes when we fail and we wonder why our new genome isn’t effective we should consider the following:

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: Philippians 1:6

We’re a work in progress. Any geneticist will tell you that DNA structure is constantly working on itself, correcting and repairing. In the same way Messiah is constantly working on us, perfecting us and repairing damage and will do so until we are taken to be with Yeshua, hopefully one day real soon.

He’ll keep you a new creature:

Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 1:8

Various Aspects:

There are some who will read this article and think that I have dismissed the spiritual aspect to the Rebirth, or the making of the New Creature in Messiah Yeshua. That is not my intent at all. Thousands of papers can be found relating to the spiritual change in a person who becomes Born Again through the Ruach Ha Kodesh. My contention is that there has to be a physical change be it in the flesh or in the mind. This genetic change allows our ruach, and the Ruach Ha Kodesh to work effectively with the flesh and the mind. Before we became a new creature it was impossible to control the flesh or our thoughts. But, with the indwelling of the Ruach Ha Kodesh the flesh is easier to control and can yield to the Ruach. While we are on this side of Glory, our flesh will be corrupted, but our new creature allows us to subjugate the flesh to Yahweh’s purposes and His Glory; something we could never do before our rebirth.

Lourdes and I were sitting in our weekly Bible Study the third week of December of 2008 and lo and behold something hit me like a bolt out of the blue. Let me give a bit of a background before I continue.

Jim Wilhelmsen and I talk a lot about many things. One of the things that we feel very sure of is that there are many people living in the United States and elsewhere who are descended from the ten lost tribes of Israel. Because of the scattering of those tribes their numbers settled all over the globe. In a past Delusion Resistance Journal I showed how some tribes in West Africa claim to be descendants of the lost tribes, as do some peoples in India, China and many other places. Many people in Mexico have Jewish blood because their ancestors escaped from Spain at the beginning of the Inquisition in 1492. It is common knowledge that many Germans intermarried with Jewish men and women and their ancestors are Jewish.

But what we are going to focus on in this article are those who come from the lost tribes of Israel; those whose ancestors were uprooted by the Assyrians many years before the Babylonians exiled the Tribe of Judah to Babylon.

We know that when the Children of Israel entered Canaan after their forty years of wandering in the wilderness, each tribe was allotted a portion of land which Yahweh clearly labeled as an “inheritance.” Israel literally inherited the land from Yahweh Himself. It is pretty easy to find maps on the internet that show where each tribe finally settled. The image below is just such a map. While it is old in nature, it is an accurate depiction of where each tribe settled, who their Israeli neighbors were and who their goyim neighbors were as well.

Judah was one of the larger tribes, but they were only one tribe and there was a lot of land to inherit from Yahweh. As you can see in the map, there was quite a dispersion of the other tribes all over the land of Canaan.

Before we move on in our study we need to examine where the inheritance of the Tribes of Israel first originated. We know from a previous study that the Land of Canaan was given to Abraham, a gift from Yahweh for Abraham’s faith and obedience. The inheritance was then passed down to Isaac and later to Jacob. We see that it is a perpetual inheritance. We could talk about this in our own strength, but when we back it up with evidence that comes from Scripture it cannot be argued against anymore. The scriptures that back up this point are as follows:

Genesis, Chapter 13 shows that promise to Abraham:

And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever. And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered. Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee. Then Abram removed his tent, and came and dwelt in the plain of Mamre, which is in Hebron, and built there an altar unto the LORD. Genesis 13:14-18 KJV

A chapter or two earlier there was a dispute between Abraham’s herdsmen and Lot’s herdsman over water rights. Afterward, Abraham told Lot that he would give Lot first choice of whatever land Lot wanted for his herds. Lot chose the area around the Cities of The Plain, which we know to be Sodom, Gomorrah and other cities in that proximity. Abraham went to the west, would have placed him firmly in the land of what we now know to be present day Israel. He later moved to Hebron, which is south of Yerushalayim and west of the Dead Sea.

We know that Abraham had two sons, Ishmael and Isaac. We also know that Abraham sent away Ishmael and his mother and kept Isaac to himself and that the inheritance therefore went to and through Isaac. This annuls any claim by anyone who might think that they are a descendant of Ishmael from claiming right to Eretz Israel.

And there was a famine in the land, beside the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went unto Abimelech king of the Philistines unto Gerar. And the LORD appeared unto him, and said, Go not down into Egypt; dwell in the land which I shall tell thee of: Sojourn in this land, and I will be with thee, and will bless thee; for unto thee, and unto thy seed, I will give all these countries, and I will perform the oath which I sware unto Abraham thy father; And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws. And Isaac dwelt in Gerar: Genesis 26:1-6 KJV

If the promise of inheritance of the Land of Canaan to Abraham’s descend Jacob is true then we should find it in scripture, and we do:

And God appeared unto Jacob again, when he came out of Padanaram, and blessed him. And God said unto him, Thy name is Jacob: thy name shall not be called any more Jacob, but Israel shall be thy name: and he called his name Israel. And God said unto him, I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins; And the land which I gave Abraham and Isaac, to thee I will give it, and to thy seed after thee will I give the land. And God went up from him in the place where he talked with him. And Jacob set up a pillar in the place where he talked with him, even a pillar of stone: and he poured a drink offering thereon, and he poured oil thereon. And Jacob called the name of the place where God spake with him, Bethel. Genesis 35:9-15 KJV

The name “Israel” is an interesting one. There are a variety of meanings found when one searches, but the most common ones are, “Elohim will prevail,” and “Elohim Preserves.” I find this interesting because of all of the ancient peoples, Israel is the only nation that has survived a 400 year dispersion to Egypt, and then Judah, Israel’s son has survived a 70 year exile in Babylon and a 2000 year exile throughout the world, to be restored during our generation with their original language, religion and basic culture. But Elohim will also prevail in his inheritance gift to all of Israel and He has preserved that inheritance too.

When the Children of Israel reached their Promised Land, after they had wandered in the wilderness for forty years they divided the land of Canaan according to the size of their tribes and as Yahweh had dictated to Joshua to allot it out to them. Yahweh was very specific about the boundaries of the tribal lands and was firm that each tribe was to settle into its own distinctive property. He was so specific about tribes not infringing on other tribes that He even made a stipulation about marriage and inheritance where the women were concerned.

If they be married to any of the sons of the other tribes of the children of Israel, then will their inheritance be taken away from the inheritance of our fathers, and will be added to the inheritance of the tribe whereunto they shall belong: so will it be taken away from the lot of our inheritance. When the jubilee of the children of Israel shall be, then will their inheritance be added to the inheritance of the tribe whereunto they shall belong: so will their inheritance be taken away from the inheritance of the tribe of our fathers….So shall no inheritance of the children of Israel remove from tribe to tribe; for the children of Israel shall cleave everyone to the inheritance of the tribe of his fathers.…So shall no inheritance remove from one tribe to another tribe; for the tribes of the children of Israel shall cleave everyone to his own inheritance. Numbers 36:3-4,7,9 KJV

So Yahweh was emphatic that each tribe have an allotment and that they live in their allotment. We have to consider however the exiles that happened in the years that followed. Israel had fallen into idolatry and because of their rebellion, and their refusal to listen to the warnings of Yahweh, they went into exile and were scattered amongst the nations. These were the Ten Northern Tribes of Israel. The two other tribes, Benjamin and Judah were in the south and were under the banner of Judah. Judah later fell into the sin of idolatry and they were ultimately conquered and exiled to Babylon only to return after seventy years in exile.

Let me make a personal note before we move on. There is a perfect illustration in all of this in my own family. My grandfather had three sons and like every traditional family the oldest was held in high esteem, the middle son with a little less esteem and the youngest son, my dad, in the lowest of esteem. This might seem unfair, and in many ways it is, but as the things went, this is just the way that people used to do things, and it was done this way in the Bible many times too. Over the years my grandfather scrimped and saved his money and because of this he had some property and a good sized savings account in the bank.

There were many times when my grandfather’s middle son would do something to lose favor with my grandfather and we would always hear how this uncle was not going to receive the inheritance that grandfather had allotted to him upon grandfather’s death. There were other times when my dad did things that grandfather didn’t approve of and when he didn’t repent when my grandfather asked him to repent he too was removed from the inheritance. Over the years both my uncle and dad repented of what they did and their inheritance was restored.

It is the same way with Yahweh concerning Israel and their inheritance. Scripture talks about a time when “all of Israel” will come back to the land, back to their inheritance.

But, The LORD liveth, that brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north, and from all the lands whither he had driven them: and I will bring them again into their land that I gave unto their fathers. Jeremiah 16:15 KJV

I will surely assemble, O Jacob, all of thee; I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together as the sheep of Bozrah, as the flock in the midst of their fold: they shall make great noise by reason of the multitude of men. Micah 2:12 KJV

Now we come to the crux of the problem. Back when the Romans started the exile of the Jews in 70 AD and finished their task in 135 AD they just took one (possibly two) tribes with them. The Hebrew word for Jew is Yehud which is a shortened form of Yehuda or the English rendition being Judah. The other ten tribes had been dispersed and were never again coalesced into tribes. They moved on and assimilated with the gentiles living all over the world. Therefore, the people who went into exile with the Romans were from Judah, and Judah (and perhaps some of Benjamin) only. For two thousand years they kept their culture and religion and suffered a great deal for failing to assimilate with the gentiles. They remained a separate and peculiar people. In the latter part of the 19th century they slowly started to immigrate back to what would later become Israel. I will not refer to it as Palestine because that name is an affront; being the Roman name for Philistine.

During the early part of the 20th century the Ottoman Empire allowed some others to immigrate back to Eretz Yisrael but this practice slowed down when the British won the mandate to administer that area after defeating the Ottoman Empire at the end of World War One. After World War Two, and when the world saw the pictures and heard the stories that came out of the death camps of Nazi Germany there was sympathy for the Jewish People (Judah) to have a homeland. The rest is history that we all know pretty well.

The problem is that those returning to Eretz Yisrael (The Land of Israel) were mostly from the Tribe of Judah and the other tribes were absent. Over the past 60 plus years Judah has administered the land, even the land that belongs to the other tribes. Technically, Judah has property rights to the land of Judah, and nothing more. There are many around the world that say that the Jews do not have a right to the land, and in a way they are partially right. Judah only has right to Judah. The other parts of what is now Israel (the land as it stood after the six day war) belong to the other ten tribes of Israel. Could it be that the reason why Judah has had such a hard time administering and keeping the land is because the other ten tribes haven’t been restored to their lands? Could it be that when the other ten tribes do come back to the land then the squabbling will come to an end, or greatly diminish?

Another problem is that the Jewish nation of Israel has for many years had a very strict policy on who is allowed to immigrate. They have operated under the “who is a Jew” law, causing everyone who wants to immigrate to Israel to prove their Judaic heritage. This is a gross injustice to the other ten tribal progeny who really have no way of verifying their bloodline. They have no papers, no ancestral heritage to prove that they are sons of Israel.

We’ve written another article about how it is possible that many of those who have come to faith in Yeshua are actually descendants from the Ten Lost Tribes of Israel. The chances of that are pretty good and I’d bet money that this is a correct assertion. The article can be found on the Delusion Resistance Website and can be found by going to the Remnant Call website . In the off chance that someone cannot access the internet and these files are obtained, the name of the article is: “And All of Israel Will Be Saved – The Ten Lost Tribes and Where You Might Fit In.”

We know that Yahweh is not a liar, nor is He given to wild fantasies or speculations. Since He lives outside of space/time then He is able to know the future before it happens. Scripture is quite emphatic about this and there are many passages that tell of persons being planned out before the foundation of the world. We also know that when He says that “all of Israel will be saved,” He means all of Israel, or remnants of all of Israel, in a more refined sense of the meaning. Since Yahweh has promised several times that He will lead “Israel” back to their inheritance, and Israel in this sense means all of Israel, then many of us have that free ticket to Israel that we all dreamed about.

So what could bring about that free ticket being a reality? It is simple to see. It will be a hatred of Bible believing Christians; those who won’t form to the mold that the world is trying to fit everyone into.

Even while I type this article there are those who are labeling Christians as haters. Recently the people of California voted (a third time) to write the law so that it states that marriage is between a man and a woman. This proposition, which was backed by many Christian Churches, and even some of the cultic organizations like the Mormon’s. The result has been that the homosexual community has labeled Bible believing Christians as haters and some of them even went as far as to disrupt and vandalize a Mormon fellowship – while services were being performed.

People who advocate abortion label Christians who oppose their evil ways as being haters, calling us anti-abortionist instead of giving us the title of pro-life, which is what we really are. But as you know, when you put “anti” in front of any word it gives a negative connotation.

Even the celebration of our holidays has come under attack. Recently a 6th grade student in Mississippi obtained a lower grade for an essay because he mentioned the name of Jesus in his essay; the essay was about Christmas. He was told that the name of Jesus was too controversial. In some neighborhoods manger scenes are not allowed in the yards of private citizens because of complaints that such displays “force Christianity down our throats.”

Yes it’s true that in the very near future Bible believing Christians, especially those who not only believe the Bible, but dare to live by its precepts will be labeled as haters, intolerant and nonconformists. We don’t see it beyond the realm of possibility that western society, especially here in the United States will develop a strong dislike, a rabid hatred for believers in Yeshua. History has shown that when these things start to happen, the society that hates the remnant first gives an opportunity for the nonconformists to leave the country.

This practice has happened to the tribe of Judah for two thousand years, as they were kicked out of one country and then another. They were given a chance to assimilate and a scant few did, but the others who didn’t were expelled. Many nations in Europe have expelled the tribe of Judah at least once. Some examples of this are Spain in 1492 and more recently Germany in the 1930’s. Those who refused to leave, or had no financial means to do so suffered torture and death.

If exile is destined for true believers in Yeshua, those who not only believe in Him but believe Him too and who live by His commandments, then how would the exile come about? We have already mentioned above that we will be branded as haters; people who will not bend to public pressure to be like the world. We will be seen as bigots who won’t accept sin and those who practice sin, primarily because the world doesn’t see sin as being wrong nor do they acknowledge sin to begin with. It isn’t going to be that we won’t try to bring sinners to repentance, because all true believers in Yeshua hate the sin but love the sinner. We are the ones who, while we love the homosexual and want them to be saved, won’t accept that they have a church with unrepentant homosexuals. Nor would we validate a church that caters unrepentant whoremongers, witches, Satanists or any other belief or creed that pits itself against scripture or the God of Scripture.

We’ve mentioned before that Israel will be the place where we will go to our exile. But maybe we should not call it an exile, but a homecoming; what those in Israel call an Aliyah. So now we have the reason why we would have to leave our homes and leave the land of our birth. We also know where we will go; but what will be our route of escape. We would like to suggest that we might embark to our destination through our northern neighbor, Canada.

Before you close this file or throw the papers in the garbage, hear us out. We’re not saying that Canada will be the only escape route, but it will play a major role in our exodus. It is quite possible that Mexico will be another route. We must also remember that in the very near future the North American continent will coalesce into a new entity which will be known at The North American Union. Plans for this have already been drafted and if you believe some of the reports that circulate, the coinage has already been minted. Look at how the once mighty U.S. dollar has lost a lot of value, so much so that it is equal to and sometimes less in value to the Canadian dollar. The financial crisis that has transpired over the last few months has hit Canada just as hard as it hit the U.S., but what many don’t know is that it has hit Mexico too. The bad economy has hit the migrant worker, so much so that they are returning to Mexico in droves. What many don’t realize is that many of those workers aren’t Mexican, but they come from all over Central and South America, but they are settling in Mexico for the interim.

The future demise of the American auto industry along with the thievery that has occurred within the lending institutions will bankrupt both Canada and the United States. An overabundance of people in Mexico could easily bankrupt an already fragile economy and the Mexican government’s war on the drug cartels could easily send Mexico into chaos. These things, whether contrived or coincidental will play right into the hands of the globalists who want to form the N.A.U. on our continent. With three currencies debased it will be easy to form one currency. You tell the people that they accept the currency if they want to eat because the other three will no longer be honored and close to one hundred percent of the people will comply.

The effort to bail out the lending institutions caused the U.S. government to ask the Federal Reserve to print more money for the lenders. Because of this, and because that Federal Reserve Notes have no real backing it means that the government went further in debt to the Federal Reserve. The Reserve has the right, and will someday demand to be paid for their years of printing worthless money and the only collateral is the United States itself. When the Reserve calls in its markers the government will have no other choice than to surrender the collateral, giving the Reserve the right to do with our nation whatever it wishes; even melding it with our northern and southern neighbors to make the N.A.U.;  much to the consternation of all of us who have labored under the false assumption that we are free men.

While the thought of the three nations becoming one continental entity bothers many, including myself, it will erase the borders and make it much easier for believers in Yeshua to flee the United States. Remember that the N.A.U. will mimic the European Union. Each of the three entities would in effect become a state, and just like travel between E.U. countries, and travel between states here in the U.S. is quite easy, so will travel between the three entities of the N.A.U. be a snap.

So has any of this been verified in any way. The answer to that, as of the writing of this article in December of 2008, is, no. But because we know that Yahweh knows history before it happens, since He is the writer of history, then we can surmise that He would let some of us know, right?

One way that Yahweh reveals things is through dreams and visions. He forecast in the Book of the prophet Joel that:

And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions Joel 2:28 KJV

We know too that everything that Yahweh does He heralds through his prophets:

Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets. Amos 3:7KJV

One such dream came to Jim Wilhelmsen where Yahweh tells us about the exodus, and what precipitates it:

My Dream of an End Time America

In the late 70’s during a time of fasting (about a ten day fast) I had a vivid dream about America. Now this was still at a time in history when we were still engaged in the cold war and Russia was our enemy.

In this dream America was in a state of total chaos. It seemed like there was a collapse of the economy, marshal law imposed and various foreign troops on our land for different reasons.

In this dream, a few friends and myself were traveling from property I owned up in northern Michigan that was out in the remote country. We were headed to the inner city of Detroit to trade food for medical supplies at a Christian ministry. On the way we ran into various groups. There were Russian troops that were someone to avoid but not the real danger. We also ran into UN troops that were composed of a multinational force. These were again, a group to avoid but not the real danger.

As we entered the city many buildings were ransacked with broken windows and exposed to the weather, others burned out with very few that were opened for any kind of business. We had the feeling that we had to approach our destination with great caution. From a gutted out building on the second story, we watched the main street before entering the street where the ministry was located. It was like watching rats in an alley as people were randomly sneaking into some of the buildings and taking things for themselves. We saw the ministry building we were heading for and the contact person was just outside on the sidewalk in front waiting for us.

Just when we were ready to leave our safe position and come out in the open on the street, we heard shots. In front of us were camouflaged military looking troops who had no national identity or patches of any kind. These we knew somehow were Americans but they did not act like anyone friendly. They were fierce in their cover move actions moving down the streets literally shooting at anything that moved. Our friend was cut down and so was anyone in their path. This group was the one to be feared and was the most dangerous group of them all and yet they were our own people!

We then knew our only safe refuge was Canada that by leaving America, we would find safety and peace from this other group. Many had already gone that rout and then the scene changed. I then saw a bridge that was almost covered with water with thousands of Americans leaving the country into Canada on it.
Then the scene turned back into the horrible urban scene and I knew that I was to stay here for a bit longer because I had something more to do before I left. I then woke up knowing this was a dream for the Lord but most of it did not make sense to me at the time.
Since then almost thirty years later, I have come to understand the meaning of the dream. The message was personalized by my own imagination to create a scenario that probably will not happen in a literal sense but it was the vehicle by which the message could be understood.
Dreams can be literal to every detail and others can be more of an abstraction of truth in a story form. Prayerful waiting on the Lord is the only way to know for sure what you are experiencing. What the Lord was telling me was this kind of situation would befall America. Canada was a refuge and safe haven for Christians fleeing the wrath in America. I felt the ultimate destination was Israel. The most important warning was the fact that in spite of all the real dangers that were on our soil from outside of America, the ultimate danger was going to come from within.
This alone could be dismissed as a vivid dream, but Yahweh will always confirm His dreams, words and visions. One such verification came from a man who wrote to Jim years later and told him of a dream that he had. The man related that he had a dream that he remembered quite well. In the dream he saw a map of Canada and superimposed over the map he saw a “red cross” flag. The man got the impression during the dream that there was some sort of trouble in the United States and that Canada would be used to care for wounded people from the States.
In light of the election results of November 04, there are some possibilities that might come into play that could bring about great strife in the United States. The worst case scenario would be that someone would try to bring harm to Barack Obama and this would ignite a race war that would pit American against American. Of course the enemies of this nation would see that as a signal to attack us. The White Supremacists and the Black Supremacists would be embroiled in conflict in just about every large town and village and since most of our military forces are overseas, our government would call in United Nations troops to quell the civil war.

I know that it seems from the things that have been written here and in many of the articles of our website that the reader could think that we are pompous or high-minded where our opinions of the United States and prophecy are concerned. We do not make any assertion that our nation is better than any other nation. No! As a matter of fact we lean toward the notion that the United States could possibly be the physical extension of the Babylon that is supposed to reemerge before the end of all things. We’re quite concerned for our nation and of course the fate of believers all across our land.

One thought must remain in all of our minds. Of all of the nations on Earth, up until this writing the U.S. has remained the only staunch ally of Israel. Even though our military has been weakened and the brunt of our fighting forces are in Iraq, Afghanistan, Kosovo and everywhere but at home, we are still a formidable force to be reckoned with. If however the monetary crisis worsens, natural disasters grow in number and/or severity, and we are embroiled in a civil war we would not be able to defend Israel. It is quite conceivable that this would precipitate the Ezekiel 38 and 39 events.

Although we have touched on some scenarios in this article, the main premise is that there are many descendants of the Ten Lost Tribes of Israel, and we have been given a perpetual inheritance from Yahweh to possess our tribal lands. Persecutions of Christians here and abroad could lead to the biggest exodus in the history of the planet. Yahweh promised Abraham, Isaac and Jacob that their descendants would number like the sands of the sea and the stars of heaven. The descendants of Judah over the past 2500 years have produced millions of people. Imagine how many people are descended from the Ten Lost Tribes. If you don’t know which tribe you belong to, don’t worry because Yahweh knows, and He will settle you right where you belong.

When I was a kid in school our teachers would go through strenuous exercises to get us to follow directions. Our parents would do the same thing. My dad would stress that when we entered into agreements that we read the whole of the agreement because, as he would say, there is always some obscure clause that could ensnare us should we not see it and contest it before we sign the agreement. Even today this is done many times when legislators write bills that they would like passed. They tend to tack on little clauses to their bills that don’t pertain to the subject matter of the bill. They are banking on the notion that the other legislators will not read the bill and they will vote for the pertinent purpose of the bill unaware that there are improprieties in the proposed law. It is a good thing that there are watchdog organizations whose sole purpose is to scour through proposed legislation and that they find these things and call attention to them before the bills come to the floor to be voted upon.

Getting back to my teachers, they would do many things to make us think. One of the methods that they would use is that they would tell us to read ALL of the instructions in a certain document before we acted upon the assignment. For instance, there might be a test where there might be twenty things in a list for us to perform. The last requirement on the list of instructions would say that all that we needed to do is requirement number three. Many were the times when the majority of kids in the class would answer or perform the first nineteen tasks only to find out that the twentieth would tell us that number three was the only thing that we needed to do. Needless to say that there were many who felt duped and they got mad because they did a lot unnecessary work. The lesson we get from this sort of thing is that we cannot know the full scope of the literature until we read all of it.

A prime example of this would be what we see in the scripture in the form of what happened with the ministry of Yeshua and the response of many of the elders of Israel to Yeshua’s ministry. It is clear that there are two comings of one Messiah mentioned in the Prophets of Scripture. One of Messiah’s purposes was to come and put an end to sin, as mentioned in Daniel. Let’s take a look at this scripture:

“Seventy weeks are determined For your people and for your holy city, To finish the transgression, To make an end of sins, To make reconciliation for iniquity, To bring in everlasting righteousness, To seal up vision and prophecy, And to anoint the Most Holy. “Know therefore and understand, That from the going forth of the command To restore and build Jerusalem Until Messiah the Prince, There shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; The street shall be built again, and the wall, Even in troublesome times. “And after the sixty-two weeks Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself; And the people of the prince who is to come Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end of it shall be with a flood, And till the end of the war desolations are determined. Daniel 9:24-26

The other coming of Messiah is the future coming, the one when He will come back to physically take dominion of the Earth and to bring the Millennium of peace and righteousness to the world, to rule with a rod of iron. The Jewish leaders of Yeshua’s day were looking for a physical deliverance; a Messiah who would vanquish the Romans and establish His earthly kingdom, but like Yeshua lamented, they did not notice the time of their visitation, so the Jewish leaders along with the Romans crucified the Messiah. We have to realize too that this was Yeshua’s fate, His being the Father’s sacrifice and the establishment of a New Covenant for all who would believe in His Lamb and the Sacrifice of the Lamb of God. There were some like Nicodemus who read down to requirement number 20 and saw that they needed only to complete task number three. These people saw Yeshua for who He was, the one who would grant salvation from sin to all who believed in Him.

The purpose of our article today is to recall a promise that Yahweh made to Abraham and made again to Isaac and later to Jacob. The promise, which we will examine must be based on the truth that Yahweh means what He says and says what He means. In other words, Yahweh doesn’t lie and he doesn’t exaggerate. He is not one who is prone to embellishment nor is He puffed up. He performs His will and He executes His plans down to the very last detail.

For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Matthew 5:18 KJV

Yeshua was saying in effect, that each crossing of a “t” or the dotting of an “i” will be fulfilled. Some Rabbis have an intuitive saying about what will transpire when Messiah comes. They say that they cannot really interpret the true meaning of scripture, but their assertion is that  “But when He comes He will not only interpret the passages, He will interpret the very words, the very letters, He will even interpret the spaces between the letters!” Yeshua’s statement along with what the Rabbi’s believe should give credence to the seriousness that Yahweh takes about His Word and His promise to fulfill His Word.

So what exactly did Yahweh say to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob that will impact our study today? What did He say that the world and lukewarm Christians could question or even doubt in His promise to the three patriarchs? All we need to do is to look at scripture to see exactly what was said, and the promises that Yahweh made to our patriarchs. To Abraham, Yahweh said the following:

And the LORD said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him: “Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are—northward, southward, eastward, and westward; for all the land which you see I give to you and your descendants forever. And I will make your descendants as the dust of the earth; so that if a man could number the dust of the earth, then your descendants also could be numbered. Genesis 13:14-16 NKJV

And He also told Abraham:

And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be. Genesis 15:5 NKJV

And after Yahweh stopped Abraham from offering his son Isaac in sacrifice to Yahweh; Yahweh told Abraham:

Then the Angel of the LORD called to Abraham a second time out of heaven, and said: “By Myself I have sworn, says the LORD, because you have done this thing, and have not withheld your son, your only son—blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply your descendants as the stars of the heaven and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your descendants shall possess the gate of their enemies. Genesis 22:15-17 NKJV

He promised that Abraham’s descendants would be so numerous that they would not be able to be numbered. It is interesting to notice that a promise is made that those descendants will possess the “gate” of their enemies. Note that “gate” is singular and enemies is plural. He is talking about one gate of many enemies. Could this be a reference to the gate to the abyss? Jude (Judah), Jesus’ brother wrote about the inhabitants that are imprisoned behind that gate:

And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. Jude 1:6 KJV

Remember that Paul tells us that we will someday judge angels, and these fallen angels are reserved in chains in darkness until the day of their judgment. Just a speculation, but it’s noteworthy.

Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life? 1 Corinthians 6:3 KJV

What About Ishmael?

There are some who might link the lineage of Ishmael with the promises of uncountable offspring, but this specific promise is made long after Ishmael is sent off with his mother Hagar to live elsewhere. There are specific promises to Ishmael as we see in the following passages. The first promise is to Abraham:

And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation. Genesis 17:20 KJV

The second promise is made by an angel of Yahweh to Hagar when she had given up all hope and while she and Ishmael were perishing in the wilderness:

Arise, lift up the lad, and hold him in thine hand; for I will make him a great nation. Genesis 21:18 KJV

The promises made to Ishmael are separate and in lieu of the blessings that were given to Abraham regarding his seed that would be passed on through Isaac. Ishmael did produce twelve princes and they populated many of the areas of Arabia and other adjacent lands. His heritage has been lost over the years and although many of the Arabic speaking people claim a heritage from Ishmael their claims cannot be substantiated. The lands of the Middle East have been conquered many times by many nations and the blood of those conquerors has mingled with Ishmael’s blood, so much so that if their claims are at all true, there is most likely very little Ishmaelite DNA in the claimants. What little blood relationship that would exist would be mingled by Babylonian, Mede, Persian, Egyptian, Greek and Roman blood running through their veins, not to mention those who followed; the European Crusaders, the Ottoman Turks and later even the colonial powers of England and France.

Continuing With The Messianic Line:

After Abraham, came his son Isaac whom Yahweh reaffirmed His covenant with Abraham’s seed through his second son, Isaac:

And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; Genesis 26:4 KJV

Yahweh makes the same promise to Isaac that He made to Abraham, but he expands His promise a bit more. Yahweh promises Isaac all of the surrounding countries and He promises that through Isaac’s seed that all of the nations will be blessed. There is a double meaning in the last part of the promise. Both parts of the promise are prophetic and both have occurred, both still occurring today. The first part of the prophetic message was the promise of Mashiach coming through Isaac’s line. Yeshua’s ancestral line has a direct link to Isaac of which there is absolutely no doubt. We’ll examine the second part of the prophecy farther down in this study.

Isaac and Rebecca had twin sons, one being Esau and the other being Jacob. Scripture says that Esau was born first but Jacob followed so closely that he was able to grab Esau’s heel during the process. Rebecca received a prophecy from Yahweh that the children represented two nations and two different peoples, and that the elder would serve the younger. Esau wasn’t the brightest light in the pack of bulbs and one day he sold his birthright to Jacob for a bowl of soup. Later, Rebecca convinced Jacob to impersonate his brother to their blind father. The plan succeeded and Isaac gave Jacob the blessing that would have gone to his firstborn son. There’s no doubt that Rebecca had Yahweh’s promise to her on her mind when she had Jacob perform this daring fete. Esau became mad and fearing that his brother would kill him Jacob fled to Mesopotamia. On the way to his destination he was given a promise by Yahweh:

And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed. Genesis 28:14 KJV

Again Yahweh affirms that Jacob’s seed will be a blessing to all people of the earth. Another prophetic blessing is given and this time Yahweh tells that he will disperse Jacob’s seed in all four directions, basically telling him that his seed is going to live all over the world.

Now we have seen how Yahweh promised some very wonderful blessings to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, but when did these things occur, or are they still events that will occur in the future. Well, as we mentioned above, the world has been blessed by one specific person, Yeshua Ha Mashiach, who was of Abraham’s seed; a son of Jacob and Judah and yes, even Levi, both Jacob’s sons. But Yahweh told Jacob that he would go all over the earth in all four directions. We’ll look at that soon, but we have to see a couple of other things first. There are a two more things that play into this whole thing.

We know that Jacob, whom Yahweh later named Israel had twelve sons by four wives. The 12 sons of Israel (Jacob) were: Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, Benjamin, Dan, Naphtali, Gad, Asher and Joseph. However, Reuben lost his rights as firstborn by defiling Jacob’s bed (Genesis 35:22; 49:3-4). In Reuben and Joseph’s place, Joseph’s two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, became tribes of Israel (Genesis 48:5-6). As a result, the twelve tribes became Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, Benjamin, Dan, Naphtali, Gad, Asher, Ephraim and Manasseh. However, if we look at the sons who are listed in the Book of Revelation, the sons who are important to the “last days,” and the playing out of the final victory of Yahweh, the names are different, being; Judah, Reuben, Gad, Asher, Naphtali, Manasseh, Simeon, Levi, Issachar, Zebulun, Joseph and Benjamin. It is interesting that for the first time that I can ascertain, Joseph is listed as a tribe along with his son Manasseh. The tribes of Dan and Ephraim are missing from the list in Revelation. Why this is, only Yahweh knows and if He determines to choose twelve thousand from each of these tribes during the time of Jacob’s Trouble, that is His business.

When Solomon died and Rehoboam (at or around 926 BC) became the king there was a civil war and ten of the tribes moved north to form what was known as Israel and two of the tribes, Judah and Benjamin (along with most of Levi) stayed in the south and effectively became known as Judah. The northern tribes of Israel deteriorated quite quickly and adopted the worship of false gods and it wasn’t too long before they started to war with the Kingdom of Assyria. As a punishment from Yahweh, He allowed the Assyrians to conquer Israel and they were dispersed to never return again to the land. Several years later Judah decayed and worshipped false gods and Yahweh allowed Babylon to conquer them and to take them back to Babylon as slaves, but with the promise that they would return after seventy years. After the allotted years had expired some of the tribes of Judah and Benjamin and Levi returned to Judah, but some stayed in Babylon, never to return.

Of course, there was another dispersion of Judah that came in two waves. In 70 AD there was a revolt in Judea and the Romans sent legions of soldiers who captured Jerusalem after a long siege, at which time they destroyed the Temple and most of Jerusalem. The final dispersion of Judah came in 135 AD after the Bar Kochba revolt. At this time most of Jews in the land were exiled to other lands and not allowed to return. The Romans rebuilt Jerusalem and named it Aelia Capitolina, erected a temple to Jupiter where the temple of Yahweh once stood, and they even declared an edict that no circumcised person could enter the city. If anyone circumcised did enter the city they were put to death. The Romans renamed the province Palestinia as a final affront to the Jews because Palestinia was the Roman name for the Philistines, the Jews’ long time enemy. This sort of clarifies a little the whole modern day “Palestinian” issue.

We know where Judah, Benjamin and Levi were exiled to and we know that some came back from Babylon, but some stayed there. Many speculate that the “Wise Men” in the Gospel accounts were Jews from Babylon who might have read the stars to tell the future, but they probably were very familiar with Daniel’s prophecy which gave a mathematical formula for when the Messiah would be “cut off” for the people. Personally, I think that they were prophets who knew scripture and that their following of the star of Bethlehem was just an added bonus for them to find the exact location of the child Yeshua. We know too where the Romans dispersed the Jews at both of their dispersions. They were dispersed throughout most of the known Roman world; throughout Europe, north Africa and parts of the Middle East. Over the past sixty years the descendants of Judah, Benjamin and Levi have been returning to the Eretz Israel, but where are the other ten tribes?

Many books have been written and many doctrines have been developed about the fate of the Lost Ten Tribes of Israel. For the sake of this study, we will not delve very deep into the hundreds of speculations as to the location of the Tribes. We will sort of skim over this subject because although it is a fascinating study, it is very deep and we only need to know a little about this for our research. Basically, in the ancient days, when one power conquered another power they would remove the indigenous people from their lands and replace them with people that they conquered elsewhere. In the case of the conquered Israeli tribes this was the case. People were brought in from other areas and placed into Israel, many of which came to be known as Samaritans. The new residents intermingled with the Jews who remained in the land accepting some Jewish tradition and religious habits, but retaining many of their own. This is why the Jews of Yeshua’s day disliked the Samaritans so much. They viewed them as a pollution or corruption of Israel.

Again, without going very deep into dispersion studies, we have ascertained the following information. There are small tribes all over Asia, some who are overtly Jewish by tradition, and some who have customs that are similar to Jewish traditions. Tribes in India claim to come from exiled Israel. The Bene Ephraim in southern India claim to be descendants of Ephraim while the Bene Menashe from northeast India claim to be descendants of the Tribe of Manasseh. Then there are the Bukharan Jews from Persia who claim to be Descendants of Ephraim. The Pashtun people from Afghanistan claim to be one of the Lost Tribes of Israel. The Kashmiri people also traditionally trace their ancestry back to the Lost Tribes of Israel. The Chiang Min people of northwestern China claim to be descendants of Abraham. The Makuya sect of Japan believes that there are many parallels between ancient Japanese culture and Biblical practice and that these parallels indicate a Lost Tribes origin for many aspects of Japanese religion and culture.

Some peoples from Africa claim to descend from Israel. The Falashas from Ethiopia, who have ancestry derived from the union between Solomon and the Queen of Sheba also have a population that says that it comes from the Tribe of Dan. The Igbo Jews of Nigeria claim that they come from five tribes of Israel; Ephraim, Manasseh, Levi, Zebulun and Gad. Another group from Ghana, called “The House of Israel,” claims to come from the lost tribes. The Lemba tribe from Southern Africa claims to be descended from a lost tribe which fled from modern Yemen and journeyed south to where they are now.

Tradition holds that some of the tribes were relocated to the Caucasus area of Eurasia and many scholars associate the ancient Scythians with the lost tribes. Some who have studied the Lost Tribes have traced their movements from the Caucasus through what is in modern times Southern Russia and then into Eastern and Western Europe. There would have been hundreds of years for migration to Europe proper and it is possible that these tribes were already present in Europe centuries before their brothers from Judah, Benjamin and Levi were exiled there. Many people in Denmark and people around the world of Danish descent claim to belong to the Tribe of Dan. Interestingly enough, during World War Two, when the Germans were rounding up Jews all over Europe many Danes risked their lives to hide them. King Christian X was an interesting man who reigned during the war. During a conversation with his finance minister, Vilhelm Buhl, when the subject was raised about the possibility that the Germans would press the Danish government to force the Jews to wear the golden star on their garments, the King remarked, “perhaps then we should all wear it.” This was a fine gesture of solidarity with the Jewish people, but in addition, perhaps his comment sheds light on the origins of the Danish people, a very ancient Hebrew origin.

The Jewish Bible, called the Tanakh is broken up into three divisions. The first division is called the Torah, or The Law of Moses. It consists of the Five Books of Moses; the first five books of all Christian and Jewish Bibles. The second division is called The Nevi-im; Nevi being the Hebrew word for prophet and the “im” suffix makes the word plural, so the Tanakh section called Neviim, is the Prophets. The third division is called the Ketuvim, or the writings. The Ketuvim consist of all of the historical books as well as the poetic books and strangely enough it contains Daniel which the Jewish sages of the past thought to be a historical book rather than a prophetic one.

When Yahweh addresses the Israelites in the prophetical books He uses many different names, but there are three main categories. Before the civil war and the breakup of the kingdom he referred to the people as a whole, calling them Israel. After the breakup he referred to the southern kingdom was comprised of Judah, Benjamin and some of Levi, calling them all “Judah.” The ten tribes that separated themselves from the monarchy were called Israel. Interestingly enough, when Yahweh makes reference of Judah and Israel when the time of the dispersal of each has ended, He refers to them again corporately as Israel, or The House of Israel. We now have to look at those scriptures to see this very thing. Yahweh, speaking through Jeremiah said the following:

“Therefore behold, the days are coming,” says the LORD, “that it shall no more be said, ‘The LORD lives who brought up the children of Israel from the land of Egypt,’ but, ‘The LORD lives who brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north and from all the lands where He had driven them.’ For I will bring them back into their land which I gave to their fathers. Jeremiah 16:14-15 NKJV

In the scripture above Yahweh is saying that in the day when that scripture will be fulfilled the people who echo the words of the passage will not identify the homecoming as the deliverance from Egyptian bondage, but as a homecoming from a dispersion. The four hundred year stay in Egypt came about as a willful move by free men who were facing a famine to a land where food was plentiful and where they could be sustained. The dispersions of Israel by the Assyrians, and Judah by the Babylonians and later the Romans came about as a judgment by Yahweh because of unfaithfulness and unbelief. Yahweh thought the word given via Jeremiah so important, He issued it again a few years later:

“Therefore, behold, the days are coming,” says the LORD, “that they shall no longer say, ‘As the LORD lives who brought up the children of Israel from the land of Egypt,’ but, ‘As the LORD lives who brought up and led the descendants of the house of Israel from the north country and from all the countries where I had driven them.’ And they shall dwell in their own land.” Jeremiah 23:7-8 NKJV

Above, Yahweh is again saying that in the last days there would be no distinction between Israel and Judah, but that they would be the Twelve Tribes that would be called back to the Eretz Israel (the Land of Israel). There are some who will still assert that Yahweh is speaking to Judah, stating that the Ten Lost Tribes are exactly that, lost and that they will be lost forever. Scriptures like the following one help to prove that assertion wrong:

“Hear the word of the LORD, O nations, And declare it in the isles afar off, and say, ‘He who scattered Israel will gather him, And keep him as a shepherd does his flock.’ Jeremiah 31:10 NKJV

The underlined words above are very important. Yahweh knows those whom He scattered and who He will gather again. The wordage of the scripture is interesting in that the word “him” is indicative of a singularity. In other words, if He was just talking about Judah the word “them” might be applied better to indicate a single group of people. When Yahweh is using the “him” to describe those whom He will gather, He is denoting that He will gather Israel, all the descendants, families and tribes of Israel. This is exemplified by the next scripture:

For in mine holy mountain, in the mountain of the height of Israel, saith the Lord GOD, there shall all the house of Israel, all of them in the land, serve me: there will I accept them, and there will I require your offerings, and the firstfruits of your oblations, with all your holy things. Ezekiel 20:40 NKJV

In the ancient Middle East it was tradition for all the family, meaning the children, their husbands and wives and their children and grandchildren to all be under one banner. So what Yahweh was saying in the scripture above is that Israel’s house, all of his sons and their descendants, known as clans or tribes would all serve Him, in this case that location being Jerusalem, Yahweh’s Holy Mountain. Here we again see ALL of the tribes incorporated into one entity, that entity is Israel. The next scripture reiterates just that fact:

“Then say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “Surely I will take the children of Israel from among the nations, wherever they have gone, and will gather them from every side and bring them into their own land; and I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king over them all; they shall no longer be two nations, nor shall they ever be divided into two kingdoms again. Ezekiel 37:21-22 NKJV

In order for Yahweh to be able to make them all “one nation” again there has to be more than one entity. Simply put, Yahweh is going to incorporate the twelve tribes into one nation again. In the next passage we see that the Ten Lost Tribes are lost only to the memory of mankind, but Yahweh knows where everyone is and where he has driven them off to:

O Lord, righteousness belongs to You, but to us shame of face, as it is this day—to the men of Judah, to the inhabitants of Jerusalem and all Israel, those near and those far off in all the countries to which You have driven them, because of the unfaithfulness which they have committed against You. Daniel 9:7 NKJV

In the following passage Yahweh talks again about His people Israel, the culmination of all twelve tribes:

I will bring back the captives of My people Israel; They shall build the waste cities and inhabit them; They shall plant vineyards and drink wine from them; They shall also make gardens and eat fruit from them. I will plant them in their land, And no longer shall they be pulled up From the land I have given them,” Says the LORD your God. Amos 9:14-15 NKJV

In Micah, Yahweh calls the Twelve Tribes not just by Israel, but He makes the distinction that He is calling back the very sons of Jacob. By doing this there can be no doubt that He isn’t just calling back the southern tribes of Judah, Benjamin and Levi, but He is calling back ALL of the sons of Jacob, or a remnant of each of the tribes:

“ I will surely assemble all of you, O Jacob, I will surely gather the remnant of Israel; I will put them together like sheep of the fold, Like a flock in the midst of their pasture; They shall make a loud noise because of so many people. Micah 2:12 NKJV

In the New Covenant the Apostle Paul mentions that there will come a time when all of Israel will be saved, and that the deliverer will take ungodliness away from Jacob, meaning all twelve tribes of Jacob:

And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob Romans 11:26 KJV

Finally, we have the certification of the Apostle John who was shown by Yeshua all that would transpire at the “end of days.” One of the things that he saw was the sanctification of 144000 people; all descendants of Israel, or Jacob, and recognize that there are twelve thousand from each tribe, even the supposedly Lost Ten Tribes:

And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel. Revelation 7:4 KJV

We have seen some pretty good evidence that in the last days it will be revealed to people all over the world that they have the blood of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob coursing through their veins. It will have to be of some sort of divine revelation to each individual. We saw earlier that there are some peoples in Africa and Asia that believe that they descend from particular tribes that are known to be lost tribes. Whether they are accurate in their assertions can only be confirmed by El Elyon Himself. He is the only one who knows everything and the personal histories of every person alive know or who ever lived. I do not doubt the claims of these peoples. Let’s face it, that in a world that has hated the descendants of Jacob simply because of their heritage or faith, it would not be the wisest lie to tell considering the possible consequences should a wave of hatred toward Jews suddenly arise again. These claims are made because of tradition passed down through the millennia and should be taken at face value.

We should take just a little time to bring into the picture, just for explanation sake, two schools of thought that are dangerous. These doctrines are based mostly on scriptures that are found in Genesis and Jeremiah, which are taken out of context. Let’s look at the scripture in Genesis:

The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be. Genesis 49:10 KJV

A septre (scepter) is a staff or baton borne by a sovereign as an emblem of authority. The scripture is saying that there will always be a King of Judah to sit on the throne. It is saying that there will always be a heir to the throne of David, a recognizable heir to the throne. Seeing that Messiah Yeshua came from the Tribe of Judah “Shiloh,” can be rendered as He, so the scripture is saying that The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor the lawgiver from between his feet until He shall come, to whom the sceptre and dominion belongs, and unto Him shall the gathering of the people be.”

The scripture in Jeremiah says the same thing:

“For thus says the LORD: ‘David shall never lack a man to sit on the throne of the house of Israel; nor shall the priests, the Levites, lack a man to offer burnt offerings before Me, to kindle grain offerings, and to sacrifice continually.’” Jeremiah 33:17 NKJV

The contention of some people is that there has to be a physical “blood line” king alive at all times to guard and possess the Throne of David. They contend that the line was passed down physically and then in the dispersion of the Jews by the Romans that, heir was banished to the European part of the Roman Empire. As the centuries progressed that royal line moved east from country to country until it found a home in Britain (some say Ireland). Most of these people contend that the throne of David has been passed down through British royalty over the past several hundred years and that it resides with the current house of Windsor.

Another group or sect, known as “British Israelists” take things even farther, stating in effect that Great Britain consist solely as the Lost Tribes of Israel, and that since Britain and her offspring, America, have become great nations (as promised to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob) that this greatness is a fulfillment of scripture. Both of these doctrines lead to a heresy that is called “replacement theology.” In essence, Replacement Theology contends that God has written off the Jewish people forever and that Christianity has replaced Judaism in birthright both spiritually and naturally. It should be noted that all of the peoples, nations and empires that have persecuted and murdered the Jewish people subscribed to Replacement Theology.

That the replacement theologists should use Jeremiah 33:17 in error is a sad thing. First of all, Yahweh said through Jeremiah that Israel would never lack a “MAN” sitting the throne. The sovereign of Great Britain is Queen Elizabeth; a woman, which pretty well negates that claim. Second of all, we see that in Revelation, Yeshua wears the following title:

And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16 And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. Revelation 19:15-16 NKJV

Some would argue that since his title is “King of Kings,” that He will be some sort of super king who will reign over lower kings and this might be true to some extent, but He also rules over every man, from the most lofty king to the lowest of peasant. The title is used of other earthly kings who ruled over their kingdoms as well as subjugated kingdoms, as was the case with Nebuchadnezzar (Ezek. 26:7 and Daniel 2:37) as well as Artaxerxes in Ezra 7:12

As an added bonus, we will throw into the mix another scripture that shows that Yeshua is King of Kings, and the only potentate (King or sovereign):

I urge you in the sight of God who gives life to all things, and before Christ Jesus who witnessed the good confession before Pontius Pilate, that you keep this commandment without spot, blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ’s appearing, which He will manifest in His own time, He who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone has immortality, dwelling in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see, to whom be honor and everlasting power. Amen. 1 Timothy 6:13-16 NKJV

The scripture in Jeremiah 33 also says that the priests and Levites of Israel would never lack someone to offer up sacrifices. The Beit Ha Mikdash (Holy Temple) was destroyed in 70 AD and since then there have been no sacrifices. Well, either Yahweh is a liar, or He made other provisions to continue the priesthood and sacrifice. We see such a provision, taught to us by the Apostle Paul in his book to the Hebrew Church in Jerusalem:

But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation. Not with the blood of goats and calves, but with His own blood He entered the Most Holy Place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. For if the blood of bulls and goats and the ashes of a heifer, sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies for the purifying of the flesh, how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? And for this reason He is the Mediator of the new covenant, by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions under the first covenant, that those who are called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance. Hebrews 9:11-15 NKJV

Simply put, Yeshua is both the King on David’s throne and the High Priest. He is alive forevermore so He has fulfilled the requirement for thousands of years. He is the one to whom the septre belongs and since He rose from the dead and lives forever then there is forever a man on David’s throne and there a priest who can satisfy the requirements of the priesthood forever. Furthermore, since the Throne of David has to be sat upon by a person from the tribe of Judah, then a representative from the Lost Ten Tribes cannot fulfill that role, thus making the claims of the British Israelists null and void.

So What In Sam Hill Are You Trying To Get At Dave?

I know that by this time you might be worn out by all of the scripture that I have presented thus far. As we move on you will see that all of those scriptures were very important and will play a roll in the final outcome of this article. Thanks for your patience so far, it will pay off.

While I do not subscribe to the false notion that the Kingly line of David came with the dispersion of Israel, I do believe that the two Diaspora’s do factor into everyone who is reading this article. If you have come this far then you are curious and if you are curious then there is a reason for your curiosity. As we mentioned before, the Lost Ten Tribes have more or less faded into obscurity. Through interbreeding with truly gentile people their blood has become mixed, but DNA markers always remain the same. Simply put, you might not know if you have any blood from the dispersed Israel or Judah, but your DNA knows for sure.

Before we go farther, I have to admit that in the rest of this article it might seem like I’m going out on a limb or that I’m pushing the envelope of what is doctrinally correct and doctrinally questionable. Please read the rest of the article in its entirety before you come to any decisions. If it is the Ruach Ha Kodesh who is showing this to me, then it it vitally important that everyone reading this will play an important role in end-time events and that they might be little pieces of a larger prophetic puzzle that Yahweh will intricately piece together.

It is pretty well a fact that the Ten Lost Tribes migrated all over the world. We saw earlier that there are people in Europe, Asia and Africa who all claim heritage from those tribes. What if however, the interbreeding of the Lost Tribes with the gentiles of these lands was much more larger in its extent. What if, just like in the Germany of the early 20th century, many people could have Jewish or Israeli ancestors. That fact would make a majority of the populations of the world of Jewish or Israeli descent. Depending on the recipient of that message, it could be either wonderful news or dreaded news. For the person who has hated the House of Israel it would be devastating because they would discover that they hated their own people for many years, or they would do like Hitler did, denying his Jewish ancestry and massacring them. Or, if a person saw the House of Israel as a blessing from Yahweh, the Apple of His Eye and His Chosen People, then the news would be accepted with excitement. Well, get ready to be excited.

Just about anyone around the world can pick up their local phone book and find at least one Jewish person listed there.  We have to remember though, that the people that were dispersed by the Romans were from the tribes of Judah, Benjamin (who was mostly absorbed by Judah at that time) and Levi. All through the Bible we see promises from Yahweh that he will bring “Israel” back to their land or that on a certain day all of “Israel” will be saved. The word “saved” that is used in the scripture in Romans means two things; one, that they will be saved from imminent danger and the other meaning that there is a spiritual salvation, like one that is saved from the wrath of the Messiah on the Day of Judgment. In the context of the Romans scripture, it could mean one or the other or both. I choose to believe that it means both.

We know about how Israel will be saved from physical annihilation at the return of Yeshua. What however if there was to be a national salvation, one where specific members of all of the tribes were to be saved by the blood of Yeshua. We’ve all met people who are Jewish and are Christians, like Jews for Jesus and others, but we have to remember that these people are members of Judah or perhaps Levi, not the other ten tribes. However what if, by “all Israel will be saved,” Paul was talking about actual members from all twelve tribes becoming Born Again believers in Yeshua? That would be awesome, right!?

Now, let’s look at a few of other scriptures that tie into this scenario quite nicely. At the risk of being labeled a Calvanist I present these scriptures:

Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. Jeremiah 1:5 KJV

According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will  Ephesians 1:4 KJV

In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will: Ephesians 1:11 KJV

The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is. Revelation 17:8 NKJV

After reading the preceding scriptures we can come to only two conclusions; first, that Jeremiah, Paul, John and the angel that spoke to John were all heretics, or, there are people who are predestined to become believers in Yeshua and there are people who are not. We still have to preach to everyone, because that is the commandment of Yeshua, but predestination sure explains why some of the people we witness to just never get the message into their hearts.

I’d like to take an aside for just a moment to clarify something. I am inserting this paragraph after I have read through this article. After reading through it a couple of times I came to the conclusion that there are people who are going to read this article who might think that I hold North America, or the United States up to be some sort of vehicle of El Elyon and that the United States is better than all other lands. Some might also get the impression that I think that Christians in the US are better than other Christians or that we’re called out to be more esteemed than other believers. Those things are quite opposed to my opinions of my nation; a country filled with the disease and decay of sin and which will soon come under the full judgment of El Elyon. Frankly, we’re a mess; apostate in just about every sense of the word so I could never think that the US is better than any other land. Also, the church in the US is quite apostate and it is becoming more so every day, month and year, so I could in no way put the American church up on a pedestal above all others. As a matter of fact, I request that you pray for the church in America, because it is only by a joint effort in prayer with all of the brothers and sisters around the world that this nation might repent and become righteous again in Yahweh’s eyes. I do think however, that Canada, the United States and Mexico were used for a little while to gather a large amount of Yahweh’s elect (a remnant so to speak) but that He will soon be calling us out to other lands and for sure that He will be calling us out, along with the remnant from other nations, to Eretz Israel (the Land of Israel) just like He promised so many times in the prophetical books. I hope that this explains what you have read so far and what you will read, and that you will see that the Delusion Resistance is in no way and American Elitist organization. May Yahweh bless you as you read on.

So now, since we are predestined, wouldn’t it make sense that many of the events that occur in our lives have been predestined too? What about the forming of some nations; are they also predestined? Lets take the United States for example; only because I live here and I know the history pretty well. For about one hundred and fifty years the US has been the melting pot of the world. People from every nation on earth have immigrated here, some by their free will and others against their will. What if the US was actually a melting pot, not just for the downtrodden masses of the world, but a gathering place for the Remnant of the Lost Tribes of Israel?

The first immigrants to what is now the United States were the Pilgrims from England. They wanted freedom to worship Yahweh without the dictates and persecution of the Anglican Church. After the Pilgrims the English settled in the New World and the French did so at the same time. Germans and Irish and Danes followed suit. All of these nations housed the remnant of the Lost Tribes of Israel, and Judah who was dispersed by the Romans. The Dutch and the English brought the slaves from West Africa and incidentally, the slaves came from areas that would later become Ghana and Nigeria. As we saw earlier, this area of West Africa is the home of at least three tribes that claim kinship with the Lost House of Israel. Please understand that by making the next statement I am no endorsing slavery or it’s practice because making any man a slave, I feel is an abhorrence to Yahweh. However, what if bringing the black populations of West Africa to North America was a plan that Yahweh had to bring the Remnant of the Lost Tribes of Israel, who lived in West Africa to the land where He was bringing the tribe members from other nations. This idea may just be a whim, but who knows. But, when you think of all of the continent of Africa from where the slavers could have gotten slaves for the Colonies, they just happened to pick the areas where the Lost Tribes of Israel are located. This sounds like more than just coincidence to me.

If this is true, then why did Yahweh move many of the Lost Tribe of Israel to the United States and Canada? What possible reason could He have for doing this? To answer that we first have to ask the question of, “where else was there to go?” Europe had been ravaged by wars and hatred for centuries. The Roman Catholic and Orthodox Churches didn’t just exist as a church, they also wielded political sway and they didn’t like protestants and those who questioned church authority. We can see the Christian Church today in Europe and it is on life support while the population there is demanding that the life support be turned off so that the patient can die. My ancestors came from all over Europe; Denmark, Germany, Poland, Italy and Austria and from what I’ve read about them they did not have great lives in Europe. They hated Europe so much that not one of them ever bothered to pass down information about the family that remained in Europe. I cannot pinpoint any towns were ancestors were from and became exhausted trying to find any information on them; except for one family in Germany who wrote briefly and who stopped writing after a short introduction period.

Yahweh didn’t choose the continent of Africa to locate His Remnant and maybe the reason is that there was already a large population of people there and the same might be true for the Asian continent. Australia was a good choice but except for the eastern third of that land and the coastlines, the continent is quite inhospitable to large populations. South and Central America were pretty well out of the question because the Spanish had colonized those areas and they introduced Catholicism which, as European history had proved, was many times hostile to Bible believing Christians. The best choice was North America, which was, for the most part sparsely populated. The forests were rich with trees for housing and the land was superb for farming. The land was teeming with game and the rivers and lakes were filled with fish. Under the ground there was ample resources of minerals and ores for manufacturing. There was another factor that gets overlooked many times. Each year it seems that more and more evidence surfaces showing that a population of members of the Lost Tribes of Israel came to North America long before Europeans ever dreamed that there was a New World. I am not trying to promote Mormon theology nor am I trying to say that there was a significant Hebrew civilization in North America at any time before the present, but in all probability any Hebrews who came here and decided to stay were probably absorbed into the indigenous community. We have to remember that they are called the “Lost Tribes of Israel,” heretofore they have been assimilated into every indigenous population that they have dwelt among. Just a cursory study of the ways of the Iroquois Nation of Native Americans shows many parallels to Mosaic Law, especially where rights of the individual and the nation of a whole are concerned.

An account that parallels the assimilation of the Hebrew visitors to the Native American tribes is found in the story of the Lost Colony of Roanoke Island or what we now call North Carolina. English colonists were left on the Island of Roanoke to maintain a British presence in the area. When ships again returned to the area the colony was empty and there was no sign of war or foul play. Stories abound of how the people just didn’t disappear, but either went to live with or were held by Native American tribes and later assimilated into the tribes. Other stories talk about how, when the British pressed to the inland of North Carolina they found people who looked like a mix between Caucasians and Native Americans, and some stories tell that these populations were already Christians by way of belief.

So now we move on to the next part of the equation. I think that we should recap the promise that was given to Abraham so that we can explore how it might affect all of us who have fellowship with Elohim through Yahweh Yeshua.

Genesis 22:15-17

With this in mind we must now examine the populations of Israel throughout the first part of their history and also the populations of Judah, or the people that we commonly call Jewish. We know that when Jacob traveled to Egypt with his family there were 70 people total. According to the book of Numbers, chapter two, the number that camped around the Tabernacle of Yahweh were roughly 1,217,100 persons. That is the total population including young, adults and the elderly. In the year 48 A.D. the Roman census showed 7,000,000 Jewish people in the empire and estimates of 8 million are reasonable. Before World War Two there were about 16,728,000 Jewish souls worldwide. Today there are just over 13 million Jews (House of Judah, Benjamin and Levi) worldwide. While I lack the mathematical formula to estimate how many Jewish people have lived since Judah, Benjamin and Levi were born to Jacob, I think that it would be fair to pick an estimate of 350 million. This might be a gross overestimate to some and a gross underestimate to others, but as random numbers go, it is a good one, and when you read further you will see that this number, or any number of all the humans who have ever lived is truly insignificant.

God told all three patriarchs that their seed would number LIKE the sand of the seashore, the stars and the dust of the earth. All three of these things are impossible to number and it would be foolish to try. A mathematician with the right formula could, after adjusting for famines, plagues, pograms, inquisitions and genocides, come pretty close to figuring the number of all Jewish (people of Judah, Benjamin and Levi) who have ever lived. It would be impossible however to calculate the number of descendants of the Ten Lost Tribes of Israel because their original numbers are not available and where they went and who they assimilated with are not readily known. Hence, if we took a wild guess and said that half of the people alive today had the genetic marker of Jacob running through their veins it would be many times more than the known Jewish population today. And we have to figure in all of the children that were stillborn or died of disease or were killed though the sin of abortion (millions in America alone) and the numbers are truly astounding. We count them because they are innocents, as are all children who have not reached the age of accountability. Most agree that this is around the age of puberty.

Once more we have to say that the number of Abraham’s descendants could never be numbered. At the beginning of this article we quoted many promise scriptures, but two of them; Genesis 13 and Genesis 15 quote Yahweh as telling Abraham that if a man could number the dust of the earth of if Abraham could number the stars in the sky, then he could come up with the number of descendants he would have. Astronomers, with the aid of telescopes have found that the number of stars is infinite. Late in the last century NASA launched the Hubble Telescope into orbit, and ever since, mankind has been viewing innumerable galaxies in the spaces between the stars. Then Yahweh told Abraham that his descendants would number as the dust of the earth. The Hebrew word for “dust,” is transliterated `aphar and it doesn’t mean dust per se, but it means all of the soil and the sand of the seashore and anything that could be thought of as soil, sand or dust. In essence, what Yahweh was telling Abraham wasn’t that the number of his descendants could be numbered, but He was telling him that it is useless to even try, so don’t waste your time. Just to put the numbers into some sort of perspective; let’s just say that if there were one billion people lined up and they were all paraded by you, and you saw each person for one second, it would take you more then thirty one and a half years to view them all. If you started on January 01, 2009, right at midnight; and you could stay awake for the whole time, you would finish somewhere around August 13th, 2050. I hope you like coffee!

The title of this article is, “And All of Israel Shall Be Saved.” What did Paul mean when he said that? The three key words in that passage are; “all,” “Israel,” and “Saved.” We’ve explored in part who Israel is but we need to explore it more and we will in just a little while. We have to jump ahead for a little bit and look at the word, “saved.”

Saved: sōzō – Strongs Reference Number: G4982

1) to save, keep safe and sound, to rescue from danger or destruction

a) one (from injury or peril)

1) to save a suffering one (from perishing), i.e. one suffering from disease, to make well, heal, restore to health

1) to preserve one who is in danger of destruction, to save or rescue

b) to save in the technical biblical sense

1) negatively

a) to deliver from the penalties of the Messianic judgment

b) to save from the evils which obstruct the reception of the Messianic deliverance

By looking at the definitions for “saved,” we can see that every one of them applies to the “saved” from the passage. First, we are saved from injury and peril. Just about anyone who has come to faith in Yeshua can attest that miraculous things happened in their lives before they came to a living faith in Yeshua. Stories abound of deliverance from accidents, from mayhem by people who meant us harm or by things that we did to endanger our own lives. Some have been kept from the idiotic things that they once did, that, if they were caught could have landed them in places where their lives might have been danger or where they would have been swayed into a lifestyle that would have been detrimental to the plans that Yahweh had for them.

Of course we know that there will come a time when the world and an antichrist leader will try to exterminate the descendants of Israel and Yeshua will appear to fight for them and to deliver them from what will seem like certain genocide. This will be the last time than anyone will every try to exterminate the Sons of Israel and it will lead to a millennium of peace and contentment, not only for Israeli’s, but for the rest of the world that remains after Yeshua’s return.

The second meaning for “saved” is what believers in Yeshua have called being “born again.” We saw earlier how Yeshua isn’t only the King of Israel, who has sat on the throne since He walked the earth some two thousand years ago; but He is also our High Priest who atones for our sins forever. That atonement is a further definition of the second explanation of “saved.” The messianic judgment mentioned in the definition of “saved” is talking about the Book of Life that we cited earlier in this article and can be found in Revelation, chapter 17. The Book of Life wasn’t a New Covenant concept and probably existed in the knowledge possessed by Adam and all of his righteous descendants. We know that the knowledge of a Book of Life existed around the time of the Exodus from Egypt because Moses mentions it:

Then Moses returned to the LORD and said, “Oh, these people have committed a great sin, and have made for themselves a god of gold! Yet now, if You will forgive their sin—but if not, I pray, blot me out of Your book which You have written.” And the LORD said to Moses, “Whoever has sinned against Me, I will blot him out of My book.” Exodus 32:31-33 NKJV

The Lamb’s Book of Life just doesn’t have our names in it, but probably everything that our lives are (were) about. We see King David talking about this in a psalm:

You number my wanderings; Put my tears into Your bottle; Are they not in Your book? Psalm 56:8 NKJV

David was telling Yahweh that he knew that everything that he did was in Yahweh’s Book; even every tear that he cried. But the book holds even more information about us, even before we were born:

For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And that my soul knows very well. My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, And skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your book they all were written, The days fashioned for me, When as yet there were none of them. Psalm 139:14-16 NKJV

The very vastness of Yahweh’s knowledge of us is contained in Psalm 139. There is some conjecture about the part where David talks about Yahweh forming him in the lowest parts of the earth. Some passages attribute this phrase as to talking about the wombs of our mother’s, and rightfully so because that is where Yahweh forms us. I would like to submit for peer review that this phrase goes even farther than that. I submit that it means that even when the earth was being formed, when Yahweh was making the earth (possibly from the inside to the outside) that every atom, every molecule that would someday make up King David was formed and that Yahweh knew each atom and molecule and that it would be used to make David’s physical form, and that Yahweh kept those atoms and molecules set aside for the formation of King David; the very same way that Yahweh has known the atoms and molecules that would someday form you and me.

In the Book of Revelation, John is given a tour of the Celestial City, the New Yerushalayim (Jerusalem) and in the course of the angel’s explanation of the city, he explains to John that there are some people who will be able to enter the city, and many who won’t be able to enter:

But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. Revelation 21:27 NKJV

Again we see the Lamb’s Book of Life, and that having one’s name written within has it’s added perks. The interesting part about all of this is that there seems to be two parts to being saved by Yeshua. In the first part the soul is saved, as we can see in the scripture:

And the keeper of the prison, awaking from sleep and seeing the prison doors open, supposing the prisoners had fled, drew his sword and was about to kill himself. But Paul called with a loud voice, saying, “Do yourself no harm, for we are all here.” Then he called for a light, ran in, and fell down trembling before Paul and Silas. And he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.” Acts 16:27-31 NKJV

Many believers in Yeshua stop at this point. They don’t proceed with the other things that are afforded to believers who want to become totally sold out to Yeshua. They are really not empowered and therefore they live a life in the flesh. This is that the scripture Revelation 21:27 is talking about; those who defile themselves, cause abominations, lie habitually and so on. They will have what is commonly called “fire insurance,” but they will not have blessings that sold out believers have. They will live for eternity and they will escape the fires of hell, but because they didn’t take their walk with Yeshua seriously they get in by the skin of their teeth, so to speak. The ones who will inhabit the New Yerushalayim are the ones who lived a Ruach Ha Kodesh filled life and walked in Yahweh’s precepts through the empowerment of the His Ruach.

We have now seen that “saved” has two basic meanings; a physical salvation and a spiritual one. Of the spiritual salvation there are really two salvations. The first one offers the recipient the gift of being saved from hell and eternal damnation, basically the salvation of the soul. The second part of the spiritual salvation is that of the spirit, where a person becomes “born again” in the Ruach Ha Kodesh of Yahweh and lives in intimate fellowship with Yeshua. The saved soul gets the first salvation, but the “born again” individual has his/her soul saved and also their spirit’s are redeemed allowing them to be inscribed into the Lamb’s Book of Life.

All of Israel?

When we start this section we have to again go back in history to recap who is who in regard to Israel. All twelve tribes were referred to as Israel from the time that Jacob (Israel) went to Egypt up and through the kingly reigns of David and Solomon. When Solomon died his descendants fought against one another for the throne resulting in a civil war and a divided kingdom. Judah, Benjamin (which had been absorbed by Judah for the most part) and a large portion of Levi stayed in Judah while the other ten tribes moved north to form the confederation of Israel. We should stop to realize that there was a mixing of tribal allegiances that probably caused some of Judah to move north and some of Israel to move south to abide in Judah. This was in all probability also the result of some righteous people in the Ten Northern Tribes who didn’t like the heathen practices of the Kings of The North.

In many ways this can be seen reflected in the immigration to North America by those in Europe, especially those of Protestant beliefs. Just like those in Israel moved to Judah to escape the idol worship of their northern brothers; the Protestants (and others too) moved to North America to escape the abuse of and the idol practices of the Roman Church. In the same way that those from Israel moved south because they loved the Torah (law of Moses), those who came to North America from Europe did so because they believed that they should live their lives using the Bible as their foundation rather than the dictates of the Vatican, many of which are pagan in origin. Those who were godly in Israel moved to Judah because they saw that Yahweh’s judgment would soon come to Israel because of their rebelliousness and in the same manner many who came to North America from Europe did so because they knew that Yahweh punishes idol worshippers and those who hold to “religion” rather than an intimate relationship with Yeshua Ha Mashiach. There are probably many other parallels that we won’t go into because of time and space constraints. After all, this is an article, not a book, at least not yet….smile.

Paul, in his letter to Yeshua’s believers in Rome had to address an issue that was getting out of hand. The believers in Rome were turning into believers in “Replacement Theology.” They were saying that Yahweh had rejected Israel forever and that Christians replaced Israel as the Apple of His Eye and Elohim’s Chosen People. This part of Paul’s letter to the believers in Rome is important because it helps us to identify who Israel really is. Let’s take a look at the passage and then talk a little about it:

I say then, has God cast away His people? Certainly not! For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. God has not cast away His people whom He foreknew. Or do you not know what the Scripture says of Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel, saying, “LORD, they have killed Your prophets and torn down Your altars, and I alone am left, and they seek my life”? But what does the divine response say to him? “I have reserved for Myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.” Even so then, at this present time there is a remnant according to the election of grace. And if by grace, then it is no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace. But if it is of works, it is no longer grace; otherwise work is no longer work. What then? Israel has not obtained what it seeks; but the elect have obtained it, and the rest were blinded. Just as it is written:

“God has given them a spirit of stupor, Eyes that they should not see And ears that they should not hear, To this very day.”

And David says:

“Let their table become a snare and a trap, A stumbling block and a recompense to them. Let their eyes be darkened, so that they do not see, And bow down their back always.”

I say then, have they stumbled that they should fall? Certainly not! But through their fall, to provoke them to jealousy, salvation has come to the Gentiles. Now if their fall is riches for the world, and their failure riches for the Gentiles, how much more their fullness! For I speak to you Gentiles; inasmuch as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry, if by any means I may provoke to jealousy those who are my flesh and save some of them. For if their being cast away is the reconciling of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead? For if the firstfruit is holy, the lump is also holy; and if the root is holy, so are the branches. And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree, do not boast against the branches. But if you do boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you.

You will say then, “Branches were broken off that I might be grafted in.” Well said. Because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith. Do not be haughty, but fear. For if God did not spare the natural branches, He may not spare you either. Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off. And they also, if they do not continue in unbelief, will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again. For if you were cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and were grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, who are natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree? For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: “The Deliverer will come out of Zion, And He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob; For this is My covenant with them, When I take away their sins.”

Concerning the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but concerning the election they are beloved for the sake of the fathers. For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. For as you were once disobedient to God, yet have now obtained mercy through their disobedience, even so these also have now been disobedient, that through the mercy shown you they also may obtain mercy. For God has committed them all to disobedience, that He might have mercy on all. Romans 11:11-32 NKJV

First and foremost, Paul categorically says that Yahweh hasn’t rejected Israel. He first uses two analogies about the beginning making the result holy. First he talks about a lump of dough. He was referring to the offering of dough that the priests presented to Yahweh during sacrifice. The firstfruit (the first part) of the bread was offered up to Yahweh and the rest of the loaf was to be eaten by the Levites. The firstfruits was the choice part of the loaf and the lump was the bread that was left over after the first part was offered to Yahweh. The first fruit is being equated with Israel and the bread with the Church. So, Paul was saying that it was the holiness of the dough that enabled the loaf of bread to be holy. Then Paul talks about roots and branches. The end of this paragraph is a segue to the next. Paul was saying that it is the roots of a plant that anchor it to the ground and that bring the nutrients and water from the ground to the branches. He’s referring to Israel as being the roots and all believers in Yeshua as being the branches.

In the next paragraph Paul continues to use trees as an example, but he expounds on things a lot more. Paul talks about grafting, a practice that is millennia old, where parts of one plant are placed into another to create a hybrid plant. In any type of grafting the purpose is to use a hearty stock as the base stock and to use the grafted branches (scions) as the producers of the fruit. So, as the case would normally be, the wild olive would be the roots and stock while the cultivated scions would produce the fruit. In grafting, the hearty (or wild) base stock remains wild while the cultivated branches would retain their cultured characteristics. This is the natural way of doing things and it takes the best of both both to yield superior fruit. Paul tell us that with Yahweh things work differently. Yahweh takes the cultivated stock (roots and base stock) and grafts the wild branches into the cultivated stock. In nature this would not be a wise idea because the fruit that would be yielded would be small and inferior; but when Yahweh grafts wild into cultivated he changes the wild branches into cultivated ones. This demonstrates how Yahweh changes people when they accept Him and become renewed by His Ruach, which is illustrated in the following scripture:

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ… 2 Corinthians 5:17-18 NKJV

So what do we have with all of this and how does it equate to who all of Israel is? Well let’s look at things. Clearly the roots and stock are Israel, all twelve tribes of Israel. The roots and stock were the people from all of the tribes who were waiting for Mashiach and redemption through Him. When Yeshua walked the paths and roads of Israel two millennia ago and when He preached in the fields, in the cities and in Yerushalayim there were many who believed in Him as being Mashiach Nagid (Messiah the Prince) as foretold by Daniel, like we saw earlier in our study. With the coming of Mashiach, and His atoning death then the Israel that believes in Him and accepts him will bear fruit in the tree. The twelve tribes of Israel will always be the base stock and the roots because they are the foundation and nothing of lasting value is built without a foundation. The ten tribes of the northern kingdom were dispersed, but Judah returned to the land after the Babylonian exile. But what happened when they returned to the land. Sure, they built Jerusalem and they raised up another temple, but it has never been recorded that Yahweh’s glory ever came back to that temple. Judah existed like any other nation on the face of the earth, fighting off enemies and being conquered. Aside from existing, they really never did bear any fruit after the exile and they lived under oppression until they were dispersed again by the Romans in 70 AD and in totality in 135 AD.

Something really wonderful happened; Messiah came to visit and to die a ransom for our sins. When people started to accept His sacrifice and to become saved they were cut on their edges and grafted into the tree that had not produced for centuries. They were a new vitality that was given to the tree. Some were gentiles (maybe) and some were stock that was cut off of the nonproductive tree and introduced as a graft to the tree stock again. So both those from Judah and the gentiles became new creatures (scions) in the old stock. Both Jews and Gentiles became something new; a spiritual Israel, born of the Ruach of Yahweh and all becoming one in the tree-house of Yahweh that became known as the Church. Notice also how Paul says that some branches were cut off of the tree and that they can be grafted back into the tree whenever they decide to come to faith in Yeshua.

It is interesting that there are quite a few instances in the Prophets where a mention is made of a Righteous Branch. Obviously Yahweh is talking about a plant because branches belong on plants. But who is this Branch? Let’s look at the scripture:

‘Behold, the days are coming,’ says the LORD, ‘that I will perform that good thing which I have promised to the house of Israel and to the house of Judah: ‘ In those days and at that time I will cause to grow up to David A Branch of righteousness; He shall execute judgment and righteousness in the earth. In those days Judah will be saved, And Jerusalem will dwell safely. And this is the name by which she will be called: THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.’ “For thus says the LORD: ‘David shall never lack a man to sit on the throne of the house of Israel; 18 nor shall the priests, the Levites, lack a man to offer burnt offerings before Me, to kindle grain offerings, and to sacrifice continually.’”

And the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, saying, “Thus says the LORD: ‘If you can break My covenant with the day and My covenant with the night, so that there will not be day and night in their season, then My covenant may also be broken with David My servant, so that he shall not have a son to reign on his throne, and with the Levites, the priests, My ministers. As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, nor the sand of the sea measured, so will I multiply the descendants of David My servant and the Levites who minister to Me.’” Moreover the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, saying, “Have you not considered what these people have spoken, saying, ‘The two families which the LORD has chosen, He has also cast them off’? Thus they have despised My people, as if they should no more be a nation before them. “Thus says the LORD: ‘If My covenant is not with day and night, and if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth, then I will cast away the descendants of Jacob and David My servant, so that I will not take any of his descendants to be rulers over the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. For I will cause their captives to return, and will have mercy on them.’” Jeremiah 33: 14-26 NKJV

First we must note again that Yahweh promises that He will never break promises to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. He says that as sure as He has made day and night, heat and cold and as sure as the sun rises every morning, set every evening and the moon shines, then He will have a covenant with the Seed of Abraham. Let the Replacement Theologists now remain quiet.

So Yahweh is telling us that out of the base stock of Israel He will raise up a righteous branch and that He would sit on the throne of David and be our high priest. What happens when a new branch comes out of a tree? It buds and grows and after a time it produces fruit. This branch becomes a dominant growth from the root stock and becomes a very great tree because every time someone comes to believe in the Branch, they become grafted into the branch.

But again we come to the question of who exactly is the Lost Ten Tribes of Israel. We’ve determined that they have pretty well been absorbed into gentile society and have mixed their blood with gentile blood. Those who carry the Hebrew blood in the gentile world wouldn’t have to necessarily know that they bore Hebrew genes because Yahweh knows who they are, but are there indicators that might prove who they are? Is there a way for them to know who they are? Well, the answer might just be in the scripture in Romans that says: “and all of Israel will be saved..” Remembering that there are two ways to be saved, one being that a person is saved from harm, and the other being that a person is saved from the Messianic Judgment when the Book of Life is opened. Let’s examine a scripture that we’ve looked at already so that we can delve into this a bit farther:

And the keeper of the prison, awaking from sleep and seeing the prison doors open, supposing the prisoners had fled, drew his sword and was about to kill himself. But Paul called with a loud voice, saying, “Do yourself no harm, for we are all here.” Then he called for a light, ran in, and fell down trembling before Paul and Silas. And he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.” Acts 16:27-31 NKJV

In order to understand why the jailer was so distressed about the cell doors being opened we have to understand something about the Roman Soldier, or anyone who worked for the Roman Army in any form. The Roman Sentry, or the guard in a jail (same thing really) was expected to remain awake during his shift. The penalty for falling asleep while on guard duty was death. There were no questions asked and the execution of the sentence was immediate. When the sentry at the jail saw that the doors of the cells were open he thought that the prisoners had escaped and the only explanation for this was that he was asleep and didn’t witness the escape. In his fear, he thought that he’d take his own life. Who knows, perhaps he thought that when the authorities came to the prison and saw the cells empty and the sword in the guard they would surmise that the prisoners had overpowered him and killed him, thus preserving his honor. We’ll probably never know. Paul saw what was happening and told the guard they were all still there. In what must have been a tremendous feeling of relief he saw that Paul and the other cellmates were honorable men. He probably had heard them singing hymns and praying too during their stay there and all of these things combined caused him to want to have what Yeshua’s believers possessed and he asked how he could be saved. His question didn’t have anything to do with physical harm because none would come to him seeing that all of his prisoners were accounted for. No, the guard wanted to be Born Again; he wanted to be a bonifide believer in Yeshua and have all that went with that.

The key to understanding Scripture is twofold. First, we have to have the ministry of the Ruach Ha Kodesh to show us the meaning of scripture. Second, we must look at scripture in the context of what is before a particular scripture and what is after it. Actually, this applies to everything that we read, not just scripture. If I was reading a story about a friend named Bob who was married to a woman named Janice; and I read “Bob beat Janice,” and nothing else then the person listening to what I was reading would think that Bob was guilty of spousal abuse. But, if I read the whole story, “Bob and Janice decided to race down to the store and because Bob is a faster runner, Bob beat Janice by about two minutes.” When the whole context is read, then we see the whole picture. Let’s look at our scripture in Romans again to see what Paul meant when he said that “all of Israel would be saved..”

And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob Romans 11:26 NKJV

So we read that Israel will be saved, and by a Deliverer who will come out of Zion. But when we read further, we see that the Deliverer will deliver Israel from ungodliness. In other words, it will be a spiritual salvation rather than a physical one. Now we are getting some place. We now know that many people, all referred to as Israel will be saved and that it will be a spiritual salvation rather than a physical one, although we know that a physical salvation will occur for these people too. In Christian circles we talk about people being saved and we mean the spiritual salvation. We know that the spiritual salvation is much more important because the spirit lives on forever while the flesh dries to dust and blows away. Before we can come to our final conclusion, we have to examine one more word in that scripture; that word being the word “all.”

And So All Israel?

This is a pretty powerful phrase. Will “All” of Israel be saved? What is meant by “all?” When we hear the word “all” it has sort of a finality to it. It means that each and every one of those who could possibly be at an event or experience some wonderful thing were there to see or experience it, and that nobody was left out. When I wash all of my dirty clothes, all are included and none of them are forgotten. If I eat all of my cereal in the morning it means that the bowl is empty of both milk and cereal. How will all of Israel be saved, especially since Yeshua died two millennia ago and many people from Israel have lived and died in their sins since then. Are the descendants of Jacob somehow immune from sin, or do they get some sort of special dispensation from El Elyon for being a son of Israel? Having done research on this I was blessed to come upon a quote from a sermon preached by Charles H. Spurgeon, one of the 19th century’s greatest theologians. His answer to this question is:

“… ‘The whole world is gone after him.’ Did all the world go after Christ? ‘Then went all Judea, and were baptized of him in Jordan.’ Was all Judea, or all Jerusalem baptized in Jordan? ‘Ye are of God, little children’, and ‘the whole world lieth in the wicked one.’ Does ‘the whole world’ there mean everybody? If so, how was it, then, that there were some who were ‘of God?’ The words ‘world’ and ‘all’ are used in some seven or eight senses in Scripture; and it is very rarely that ‘all’ means all persons, taken individually. The words are generally used to signify that Christ has redeemed some of all sorts—some Jews, some Gentiles, some rich, some poor, and has not restricted his redemption to either Jew or Gentile.” (Charles H. Spurgeon, Particular Redemption, A Sermon, 28 Feb 1858).

Spurgeon really helps to understand the vernacular that is being spoken in Romans concerning “all of Israel.” Anyone who has done any serious Bible study knows that Yahweh always seems to end up with “remnants” of people that won’t bend the knee to the oppressor or who remain faithful to Him no matter what. This is true because most people are known as “followers” of other people and keepers of “fads” or “trends” that happen to be popular during their lifetimes. Our parents knew this and they would always ask us question to get us to think about what we were doing. My mother would always ask me “well, if everyone in the neighborhood jumped off of the Brooklyn Bridge would you jump too.” Well, of course I wouldn’t have, and although the question seemed stupid when we were kids, it caused us to assess our situations. These days we hear about certain television programs and we’re told that “everyone is watching it.” So many people do things because it seems like everyone else is doing them, but if you look around you will notice that there are those who don’t want to follow to the tune of the Pied Piper. Those of you who are reading this and who are members of The Delusion Resistance website are people such as this. We may have been followers of the world but sooner or later we saw that the world was wrong and that its ways are corrupt and we sought out something better, someone who had higher ideals and precepts, namely, Yahweh Yeshua!

The point is that remnants are the ones that are drawn to righteousness and holiness. It was a minority of people that Yahweh chose to enter the Ark. They were the ones who were “perfect in their generations,” meaning that they weren’t corrupted in their DNA code nor were they corrupted by the world. Of the billions that lived before the flood, only eight souls were saved. During the time when civilization was budding around the world and there were many great thinkers and many kings and princes to choose from, Yahweh chose an obscure man who lived in Ur of the Chaldees and He consecrated him and promised to make Abram a great nation, numbering such as the sands of the seashore or the stars of the sky. It was an obscure little group of people, numbering seventy in all that went to Egypt. Yahweh blessed them and when they left Egypt four hundred years later they numbered well over a million people. When Judah and Israel were teeming with prophets that brought false messages, it was just one or two humble and for the most part unknown men who were used by Yahweh to bring His message to the people. It wasn’t a king or a prince through whom Yahweh brought forth His Son to the earth. Instead, it was a humble carpenter and his wife whom Yahweh trusted with the job. And it wasn’t generals and armies that Yahweh used to bring the New Covenant to the world. No, it was twelve men in whose ranks were a tax collector and several fishermen whom Yahweh endowed with the Ruach Ha Kodesh that would change the world and bring countless millions into the Kingdom of Elohim.

So where the Tribes of Israel in the present day are concerned, it is no surprise that Yahweh has chosen some from each tribe to constitute His kingdom here on Earth. There is no doubt that that in today’s world there could be literally billions who are of the seed of Israel. In just about every conceivable corner of the globe the blood of Israel courses through veins of ordinary people like you and me. There is little doubt in my mind that of all of the immigrants that came to Canada and the United States from 1620 until the 1970’s, especially from Europe, North Africa and parts of the Middle East, a vast majority of them could be part of the Lost Ten Tribes of Israel, not to mention the over six million in the USA alone who descend from Judah, Benjamin and Levi and are called Jewish.

My contention is that of all of those people, just a minority have taken Yahweh seriously. Just a fraction have decided to call Yahweh their Lord. A remnant of all of the House of Israel have asked the Mashiach, Yeshua Ben Elohim into their hearts to change them and to make them a new creature. The Book of Revelation talks about a specific group of people, numbering one hundred forty four thousand who have been called by Yahweh to perform a special ministry during the last days. It is quite possible that some of you or even me are in that number. Our forefathers all came to Canada and The USA for a reason, almost as if they were called here for a specific reason. Perhaps there is a reason that some of these ancestors had miserable lives in Europe or the other lands in which they came from. Perhaps it was Yahweh’s plan for their lives to be of poor quality so that they would seek out a land where they could be free to worship and study the Bible without hindrance from governments and apostate church organizations.

There might be some of you who know that you have been called to this special last days ministry. Maybe you’ve known it for a long time or maybe you’ve just had it revealed to you through the Ruach Ha Kodesh recently. Perhaps you’ve felt a special calling in your life and it hasn’t been revealed to you yet what that calling might be. Perhaps it is time that we all start to seek Yahweh about this very thing. We know that we are rapidly racing toward the time in history that is foretold in Revelation. It would probably be a good idea then to seek out Yahweh about this and if you are one of them then perhaps we should all get together to fast and pray and to seek His will.

I know that this article might may have seemed a bit bizarre to you. Let’s face it, we have all been approached by people like those in the Jehovah’s Witnesses who arrogantly pronounce that they are the witnesses mentioned in Revelation but they fail to face some important flaws in their theology. First, their ranks have been around for at least two generations, maybe more and many of those who originally claimed to be the Revelation witnesses have died and went to their reward, or penalty as the case may be. That being the case, it makes Yahweh out to be an uninformed liar because He didn’t know when to pick the witnesses and that they would die off without fulfilling their election. Second, none of them can claim to be from a specific tribe and as far as I have read in their literature, there is no divine revelation as to who belongs to what tribe. Third, they deny the divinity of Yeshua and the ministry of the Ruach Ha Kodesh. With these denials comes an impotency because if you deny the authority and the power behind the authority then what do you have? You have the flesh and we all know where operating in the flesh gets a person. It’s like landing on the Jail square in the game of Monopoly..”go to jail, go directly to jail, do not pass ‘go’ and do not collect two hundred dollars.”

While many of the true 144k probably do not know their heritage right now, I have no doubt that Yahweh will bring that information to them in due time and even if He doesn’t bring that knowledge to them, they will still have the certification of the Ruach Ha Kodesh on them so that they will know that they are one of the 144k.

It will be interesting to see how things play out, but will be even more interesting will be to see how any of us will play out in this end-time scenario. The important thing is to remember that Yahweh always looks at the heart of those whom He is going to use. Humbleness and contriteness decorate the vessel that He can use for His purposes. So, we keep in prayer that Yahweh will keep each and every one of us humble and contrite and that we will every day act out in circumspection and in a want to become ever more closer to Him. I don’t think that any true believer in Yeshua will ever say that they have had their fill of Him, but just as dry soil never seems to get its fill, so I pray our walks with him ever so shall be. Blessings to you in the wondrous and holy name of Yeshua Ha Mashiach, the Aveinu who loved us enough to send us His Son!!

For anyone who is interested in additional studies of this subject I strongly encourage you to read the article that Jim Wilhemlsen from Echose of Enoch has written about it. Jim is my friend and a fellow counselor at the AACCOA (Alien Abduction Crisis Centers of America). Interestingly enough, Jim and I have arrived at the same conclusions without collusion and by citing different scriptures. Isn’t it amazing how the Ruach Ha Kodesh can orchestrate events so wonderfully!! His article can be reached by clicking on the following link: www.echoesofenoch.org/144000.htm I’d also strongly encourage you to read the rest of his website which you will find quite informative and where you will learn a lot…I mean a real lot!!
