04. Biblical Studies on Space and Time

One of the nicest things about serving the living GOD is that His ways are simplistic and following Him and loving Him is very easy. There are those throughout history who have strived to changed a relationship with Yahweh into complicated and sometimes impossible edicts that make Yahweh look like a cold and unapproachable God, but in reality, He’s standing with arms continually open, ready for embrace.

We can see this simplicity in a scripture in Exodus. In this scripture, Moses is standing on Mount Sinai and he is having communion with Yahweh. The scripture says:

And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them?

And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations. Exodus 3:13-15

A very simple phrase, “I AM,” describes the Lord of The Universe. Some have gone to extensive lengths to complicate the character of Yahweh, but in the end Yahweh simply says, I AM. But is “I AM” overly simplified? Someone might think in their mind, “okay, so you are, big deal, we all are.” But if you look at the structure of the words in the phrase, there is much more to “I AM,” than meets the eye. The Name, spelled out in Hebrew, and read from right to left, is:

 Transliterated out into the English language, it reads, “Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh” or {Eh-yah Ash-air Eh-yah}, meaning I AM That I AM. The word Ehyeh has some strange characteristics. It has an imperfective aspect, which is another way of saying that it could mean the same thing but in different aspects of that same thing. For instance, it could mean “I Was,” “I Am Presently,” or “I Will Be,” all in the same instance. In this way, Yahweh is showing us that He has been and always will be the God over time and space. A quick check of the Internet showed that Jewish scholars come to the same conclusion about the meaning of the name, “I AM.”

I am that I am

I will be what I will be

I will be what tomorrow demands

Such a thing isn’t foreign to the English language. Just a minute of thinking brought me to the phrase, “I see.” Now, if someone shows me something and it clicks in my thoughts and I voice the phrase “I see,” I could mean several things, depending on the scenario of the story. If the story was past tense, by saying “I see” I would be telling the person that I see in my mind’s eye what had happened. If I say the same phrase in a present tense I would be telling the person that I currently see what is happening. And finally, if they were presenting something to me in a future tense the phrase would mean that I can imagine the results of what they have mapped out. With one word I can say, I saw, I currently see or I foresee.

Melech David expressed this so well in Psalm 46. Note: The colors in the scripture below denote; Present, Future and Past:

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High. God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early. The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted. The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.Come, behold the works of the LORD, what desolations he hath made in the earth. He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire. Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah. Psalm 46:1-11

Melech David shows us that Yahweh is ever present; past, present and future; whenever trouble arises, Yahweh will be there to protect and deliver us from harm. David reminds us of the works of Yahweh to encourage faith and he also tells us about the future, the New Jerusalem where Yahweh will still be our protection and strength. I Was, I AM and I Will Be.

We see the eternal and unchanging Yahweh in several instances in scripture:

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this. Isaiah 9:6-7

Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure: Isaiah 46:9-10

For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. Isaiah 57:15

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. Hebrews 13:8

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. Revelation 1:8

Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: Revelation 1:11

And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. Revelation 21:6

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.Revelation 22:13

Isaiah 9:6-7 is a wonderful scripture. There can be no doubt to those who take the Bible seriously that this paragraph of words declares Yeshua Ha Mashiach to be the Mighty God and in accord with The Everlasting Father. A word study shows the following:

(Strongs – Mighty) H01368 – gibbowr {ghib-bore’} or (shortened) gibbor {ghib-bore’} = strong or mighty

(Strongs – God)  H0410 – ‘el {ale} = 1) god, god-like one, mighty one; a) mighty men, men of rank, mighty heroes; b) angels; c) god, false god (demons, imaginations); d) God, the one true God, Jehovah.

So, taken in context, the text is saying that Yeshua is actually Yahweh. Scholars in some cults, like the Jehovah’s Witness’s have corrupted the meaning to be angel, thus they say that Yeshua is actually Michael the archangel. But we can plainly see that their translation is bad because Michael the archangel could never be the Everlasting Father. While we’re on the subject of the Everlasting Father, let’s look at the Hebrew translation of those two words:

(Strongs – Everlasting) H05703 –  `ad {ad} = 1) perpetuity, for ever, continuing future; a) ancient (of past time); b) for ever (of future time); 1) continuous existence; c) for ever (of God’s existence)

(Strongs – Father) H01 –  ‘ab {awb} = 1) father of an individual 2) of God as father of his people 3) head or founder of a household, group, family, or clan 4) ancestor

The word “father” can have two different meanings, but they can be used of the same person. While no one truly understands the complexity of the triune nature of God, we have some evidence from Yeshua himself of His special relationship with the Father:

That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.John 17:21

The Greek word for “one” is heis {hice}; and it doesn’t mean one, as in “one in purpose,” (although that is true too) but it literally means one, as in the number one. So, someone could take that information and also the information above and paraphrase it as:

“El Shaddai (God Almighty), the ever perpetual, past, present and future and continuous Father and head and founder of all who call on His name.”

That is quite a title for Yeshua Ha Mashiach; but after being obedient to His Father, even to the cross, a very deserving title to say the least. And the really beautiful thing is that the plan of El Shaddai to send His Son to the cross was made even before time began:

And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. Revelation 13:8

Other references about Yahweh’s plans for mankind, even before mankind was created can be found in: Matthew 13:25, 25:34; Luke 11:50; John 17:24; Ephesians 1:4; Hebrews 4:3, 9:26; 1 Peter 1:20 and Revelation 17:18. All of the proceeding scriptures show that even before the fall of mankind and all of creation, Yahweh cared enough to provide the solution to a problem that didn’t even exist yet.

Getting back to the Isaiah 9 scripture, we have to look at two other words that show Yahweh to be God over time. The first is in the phrase, “there shall be no end,” when talking about His government. The word for end is:

(Strongs – End)  H07093 –  qets {kates}  –  1) end  a) end, at the end of (of time) b) end (of space)

Hence, Yahweh is saying that his government will have no ending and there is no limit to the space that it will consume. Endless time to grow in endless volume.

The next word is the word that is used to describe the time frame of that government’s judgment and justice; forever:

(Strongs – for Ever) H05769 – `owlam {o-lawm’} or `olam {o-lawm’}  –  1) long duration, antiquity, futurity, for ever, ever, everlasting, evermore, perpetual, old, ancient, world a) ancient time, long time (of past)b) (of future) 1) for ever, always 2) continuous existence, perpetual 3) everlasting, indefinite or unending future, eternity.

Again we see an eternal theme to something that we in the temporal world see as starting at a certain time. To us, we think that the scripture suggests that all of this started after the crucifixion. But in all actuality, all of this started in eternity. “Olam” says that the process isn’t just in antiquity, but it is perpetual and moves into the future; forever past and forever to be. But we must never forget that we are now walking through eternity, we just can’t comprehend it in our finite state.

In the Isaiah 46:9-10 scripture (which we have looked at in-depth in other papers) we see Yahweh telling us that He has prepared history in advance. He shows us this by writing down history before it happens. This is called prophecy, and it’s fulfillment in the physical realm is proof positive that Yahweh is the God of Time.

In the Isaiah 57:15 scripture, Yahweh describes Himself as the High and Lofty one who Inhabits Eternity. The word for “inhabits” means “his abode.” The word eternity, interestingly enough, is the same word that is used in the Isaiah 9:6-7 to mean everlasting. See Strongs H05703 for the word, “‘ad.”

The Hebrews 13:8 scripture is self explanatory. I just means that Yeshua (Yahweh) is never changing and that He has remained the same for eternity.

The scriptures from Revelation all proclaim Yeshua to be the Alpha and Omega; and ; Hebrew equivalents are and transliterated Alef and Taw. Note that in the concordance I used the Greek letters for Alpha and Omega were in lower case. I don’t know why it was done that way, but for study clarity, I will do so too. In his proclamation, Yeshua is saying that He is the first and the last, but when you get down to brass tacks, He is every letter between. He is from eternity past, He’s eternity present, and He is eternity future. Another interesting side note to this was found in a lecture by Chuck Missler of Koinonia House at www.khouse.org which says:

The Jewish rabbis have a quaint way of expressing this very idea: they say that they will not understand the Scriptures until the Messiah comes. But when He comes, He will not only interpret each of the passages for us, He will interpret the very words; He will even interpret the very letters themselves; in fact, He will even interpret the spaces between the letters!

This gives us a hint of the multidimensional aspect of the Bible, Yahweh’s Word. Imagine if you would a page of the Bible. Now imagine it being in a setting outside of our present reality; okay, I mean in Heaven. It is possible that the text, instead of reading just from left to right, or as in the case of Hebrew, from right to left; might read down into the page to some unknown depth and above the page to an unknown height. It could be like some sort of gigantic multifaceted crossword puzzle. I say that because someone (I think it was Jim Wilhelmsen) who was pondering if perhaps the Bible is the “Lamb’s Book of Life,” and that the names of all of the redeemed are recorded in it. So I believe that the Rabbinical phrase above is probably more accurate than the Rabbi’s ever even imagined.

Like it or not, we all suffer from a law of physics called the Law of Entropy. In layman’s terms, the law states that everything in the physical realm will decay unless acted upon by an outside force. We’ve all heard phrases like, “let time take it’s toll,” or “the ravages of time;” and we just let those phrases pass by us without realizing that it is entropy.

Anyone who is honest with themselves and their thought process can not deny that humanity has been taking a downward turn where morals and values are concerned. What was considered unspeakable fifty years ago is now common practice. I need not go into any elaboration because we all know of at least one instance where this is true, if not many more than one. But the decadence of human values is entropy in overdrive because mankind is receiving help in this degradation; that help being from the evil forces that are at war with mankind. By this I refer to the evil angelic and demonic forces. To further the degeneration, people in large have forsaken the only one who can stop and reverse entropy; Israel’s Yahweh who is the Yahweh of all who call on His name.

You see, El Elyon never changes. His precepts and ways have always been the same and always will. His command has always been for His followers to:

For I am the LORD that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy. Leviticus 11:45

According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world,that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Ephesians 1:4

You see, all of those people that are running around shouting that the Bible, Christianity and Judaism are outdated and obsolete are really living a delusion. Since Yahweh is the God over Time he has to be never changing; always the same throughout eternity in not only His demeanor, but in his justice, laws, precepts and His love for mankind. Yahweh never changes, but people do. People change because of the effects of the sin nature that they themselves won’t surrender to the Almighty.

A lot of people make “time” their god. This is no different than the person who worships an idol or someone who looks to the stars for answers. We’ve all done it and probably without even knowing that we have done it. When we’re kids we put Yahweh on a shelf so that we can have the time to play with our friends. Then we kept Him on the shelf because we have homework and school. But children are with excuse until the age of accountability. In High School we put Yahweh on the shelf because we want to pursue our academics and we also want to satisfy our hormonal urges and our ever present libido. We don’t take time for Yahweh when we leave primary school because we don’t have that time. We have to start our working career or we have to study in college for a career. Then when college is finished the working career starts so Yahweh stays shelved. We don’t have the time to take Him off of the shelf because of work, and we have started families which take up more time. When the kids are grown and out of the house we take the time to enjoy each other in relative peace, but soon the grandkids come on the scene and the social life continues with our friends. Then the age of retirement comes and we figure we can finally relax from our labors. We crave the free time and want to do all of those things that were not done because of our former busyness. By this time Yahweh has been on the shelf for so long that the dust He has collected makes him barely recognizable. In the thought process we reckon that we’ve made it this far without Yahweh, why should he be pulled off of the shelf. But finally, when our time comes to an end, Yahweh gets dusted off and perhaps if a person is honest with themselves, they’ll admit that they need Yahweh in their final hours.

The preceding was the account of so many lives of people who have made “time their god.” They’ve spent so much time trying to cram life into their short life span that they’ve neglected the true God; the one that brings quality to life as well as quantity. Yeshua has stood at many doors (people’s hearts) and knocked on that door only to be ignored. “Go Away!, I don’t have time for you,” is what He has heard on countless occasions. But like a faithful friend, Yeshua keeps knocking on that door, hoping that perhaps that particular day the person will answer the door and invite Him in. He once said:

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.John 10:10

So what did Yeshua mean by that? He was saying that He has come to give each person, not more time, but to give us more quality in the short time that we have on this earth. He wants our lives to be so that when we finally get to a ripe old age, we can look at what our lives have been and we will see a cornucopia full of good fruit instead of the decaying putrid fruit that would have been there if we hadn’t had Him in our lives. He wants to help us to use our TIME more wisely and more productively. The only way that we can do that is to live a relationship with El Shaddai through our Messiah Yeshua. In His most glorious fashion, Yahweh tells us:

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:2

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Titus 3:5

When we have a relationship with El Shaddai through Messiah Yeshua we are renewed every day. He protects us from the spiritual entropy that tries to run us down and ruin our lives. Each day this life tries to burn, cut, mutilate and destroy our souls and spirits, but Yahweh keeps up our maintenance, washing and waxing us daily to keep us shiny and clean.

It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.Lamentations 3:23

Do you remember the wonderful hymn that was inspired by the scripture above?:

     Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father;
There is no shadow of turning with Thee.
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not;
As Thou hast been Thou forever wilt be.

Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see;
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided
Great is Thy Faithfulness, Lord unto me.

     Summer and winter and spring-time and harvest,
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above
join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.

     Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth,
Thy own dear presence to cheer and to guide,
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!

Well, you probably think that I’ve completely gone off my nut by titling this section the way that I have. Well, I’ve always been a little odd anyway, so why not push the envelope (smile). Now I’m not promoting or endorsing things like astral projection or OBE (out of body experiences) but only the things of Yahweh.

To put if frankly, those of us who have accepted Yeshua as our Passover Lamb; our sacrificed Lamb who took away our sins; we live in a different kingdom. We still live in our physical bodies on this wretched planet, but our spirits walk in the spiritual realm with Yeshua.

Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence. John 18:36
*Note: He was speaking about some of the Jewish leaders, not all Jews!

If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. John 15:19

And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves. I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them through thy truth:  thy word is truth. John 17:13-17

Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; John 17:20
*Note: The prayer is for all true believers throughout history.

From the evidence above, spoken by Yeshua Himself, we can see that as being true believers in Yeshua we are no longer citizens of this world. We might have to live in it, but we are no longer of it. We can be equated as being ambassadors to this world for the Kingdom of God. It’s quite simple a thought; really it is. We can relate to this idea if we take a look at John Adams, the second President of The United States. John Adams was made the U.S. Ambassador to England in 1785. Since Mr. Adams had quite recently been a subject of England, having been born in the colonies prior to the Revolution, he was quite familiar with the ways of the English. He spoke the language fluently, knew most if not all of the customs and was well aware of protocol in English affairs.

The same can be said of every Born Again believer in Messiah Yeshua. We were naturally born here on earth. We were formally citizens of this world and know the ins and outs of earthly society. We live, work, sleep and have some measure of pleasure in this world, but our kingdom is not of this world; we represent the Kingdom of God. It is because of our ambassadorship that we are encouraged to walk in the Spirit:

This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.Galatians 5:16

If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. Galatians 5:25

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Romans 8:1

That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Romans 8:4

Note that the scriptures above all capitalize the word “Spirit,” which denotes that we have to walk in the Ruach Ha Kodesh. Our spirits must walk in accordance with the Ruach Ha Kodesh; and when that is done, we are walking outside of time. I mean, we all do anyway, but the Ruach Ha Kodesh helps us to realize and to identify with what true spiritual walking is. Really neat things happen in the lives of those who walk in the Ruach. Just read the Book of Acts and see the astounding things performed by the Ruach through the Apostles.

Well, I wouldn’t be a very good writer and might not be too convincing; showing lack of experience, if I didn’t share experiences that showed that I know what I am talking about. So I will now attempt to do so. For those of you who can identify with what I’m about to write, please excuse me because I don’t mean to be redundant, but I have to voice this to the others.

Several years ago I had the opportunity to attend what was probably the best church I would ever attend. It was so good that it spoiled me and I have gone to other fellowships grading them on my past experiences at this one church. All others have been light years away from the Vineyard Christian Fellowship, which met in Placerville, California. I will explain.

I love worshipping Yahweh. I like a good message during a service, but worship is my main focal point. Why is this so, do you ask? Well, simply because:

But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel. Psalm 22:3

It’s wonderful to actually know that when we who believe in His Name praise that very Name, that Yahweh actually inhabits (lives) in those words that we sing or voice in adoration.

So many churches that I’ve visited in the past ten years or so like to practice “churchianity.” Basically, this is a practice where a fellowship will get locked into either an old tradition or a new one that they just can’t seem to break free from. Some churches have grown so large that they shorten their service times and try to cram two hours into a one hour service. The part that suffers the most is worship, and I’ve noted that it is the same in every church that I have visited in the past few years, an exception being Harvest Church in Washington, North Carolina; where there is wonderful worship.

I started to notice this trend back in the late 1980’s in an Assembly of God church that I attended. Here is what happens. The worship leader starts worship and it is going really well. There are two songs that are sung and then either the worship leader or the pastor stops the flow to give announcements or to tell people that they’re really not getting into the worship like they’re supposed to. Well, if you didn’t just pour water on the fire, maybe we would be getting into worship right now; is always my reply. Then, after the fire is quenched the worship starts up again but never regains the vigor it had at first. So, let me now equate what gets quenched by this practice.

The Vineyard Church was unique indeed. The services were usually an hour and a half long. Of that time, about fifteen minutes was preaching time and the other hour and fifteen minutes was nonstop worship. It was so great, singing to Yahweh in that manner. As is mentioned in the scripture above, Yahweh really does inhabit the praises of his people. I can’t describe in human tongue the feelings that I would get when we worshipped in that church. It was as if the world was shut off for the worship time and we were in the presence of Yahweh Himself. All anxiety, fear or any other negative emotion that might have come with me to the service just melted away in a peace that is inexplicable. And guess what; time seemed to stop!  I feel that those of us in that service were actually transcending time and space and were worshipping before Yahweh in Heaven. There were times when I would get lightheaded and have to sit down and there were times when I actually felt like I was floating with my feet off of the ground. I never looked down to check it out because I was in such ecstasy that really didn’t care if I was floating or not. And to top it all off, the church would act in conjunction with other Vineyard Churches and have what they called “Celebration” times. They would usually meet once a month and everyone would worship for two or three hours without stopping. Wow, how Yahweh has blessed me during my short life. At these times the following scripture really hit home:

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7

I felt that peace once before I was a believer. My mother had taken me to a healing service at an Assembly of God church in Toms River, New Jersey one night in 1979. I had very bad eyes and I think my mother always felt guilty of that. I was not a believer and probably had a demon or two living inside of me because the urge to bolt from that place was supernaturally unusual. But the honor of my mother’s wishes won out and I stayed. The healing part of the service was at the end (of course, right) so I had to sit there for over an hour waiting and keeping myself from running madly down the center aisle toward the back door. When the healing part of the service started I thought I’d be smart and sit at the inner side of the pew, figuring that I would get attention first and could get the heck out of there. Yahweh has a heck of a sense of humor because the minister started at the other end. Before he got to me, my heart was beating unusually fast; like a soldier’s heart must beat in the heat of battle when he doesn’t know if he’s going to be alive a minute from that thought. Anyway, the pastor came to me and put his hands on my head and an incredible peace came over me. My heart went from tachycardia to a normal beat as the waves of love flowed through me. I left the church calmly and with a desire to want to know Yahweh better and perhaps personally. Later that year I would do just that.

The only other times that I can experience that feeling of complete peace is when I spend a long time in the Spirit while praying. It’s a feeling and a situation that I crave and like a opiate, it makes me want more and more. I’ve actually had times in this sort of prayer situation where I told Yahweh that if He wanted to take me home right then I would absolutely love it. I love it when time stops and Yahweh reigns.

Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh is indeed a great name for Yahweh. By His own proclamation He has proved Himself to be THE GOD OF TIME. He is I AM, I WAS and I WILL BE, which denotes His eternal supremacy over all that is, was and will be. No event, occurrence or happening, no matter how grand or trivial ever happened without His expressed knowledge. He has pre-written history before it happened as well as the future and He’s done that to prove His exalted status over time and space. And by His being all knowing and all powerful He really didn’t have to care. He could have let creation burn itself out or let it decay into oblivion, but He chose to care and to lead things to a future glorious ending.

The thing to consider, especially if you don’t know Him, is what will you do with this information. You know the truth now and that brings about a responsibility to do something with the truth. Here’s an analogy. You are in a burning building and now I have told you about your dilemma. You have a way out of that burning building and that is by having a personal relationship with Yahweh. He’s your fire escape, your insurance company and your best friend. Sure, you could choose to stay in the burning building and you can die in the inferno, but that is without a doubt a very unwise thing to do. I urge you with the strongest possible terms that you choose life. Should you want life, click on the “saved” link on the front page of this website to find out more. Be blessed in Yeshua Ha Mashiach.

I have always been fascinated by time. I think this is because it has always been a profound dimension in my life. I think that most people feel this way, but don’t take the time to sit and think about it. Time effects people in peculiar ways. When we’re kids we can’t wait for time to pass so that school will be over. At that same age we can’t wait for time to pass so that we’ll become an adult and do some of the things that children are prohibited from doing because of their inexperience and also because of restrictions dictated by law. When school starts we can’t wait till the next holiday brings around a week off and when spring comes along we can’t wait for summer vacation. When summer starts we first ignore time but later wish that it would slow down or even stop so that we don’t have to go back to school.

When we’re adults we start to work and realize that being an adult isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. We sometimes wish that we were children again, protected by our parents and living carefree. But at the same time, we tend to look forward to the day when we reach a ripe old age and are able to retire from our labors. We go to work on Mondays bemoaning that we have a whole five days to suffer through until we can have those scant two days off to refresh our minds and souls. As Sunday starts to come to a close we start to lament that the whole weekly process is about to start all over again.

When we are old, we enjoy our retirement but we have the aches and pains that old age brings. We sit and remember the days when we had more energy and were able to channel that energy without the resistance that the aged body brings. We sit and think about our age and perhaps wonder how many days we have left until our bodies finally give up their fight against entropy and succumb to the sleep of death, or if we’re believers in Yeshua, when we will enter Glory.

Time has other strange properties which seem to touch our lives. How many can agree with me that weekends go way too fast and the work days tend to go slow. Have you ever heard of the phrase, “time flies when you are having fun?” How come the day will pass so quickly when you’re working on a project that you enjoy yet when something is tedious or annoying it takes forever for the day to pass. Well, I really don’t know the answers to those questions. Perhaps our spirits are revved up when we’re happy and content and they slow down when we’re trying to make things go faster. Maybe it’s just a coincidence, but it happens way too often to me to be just a coincidence. What do you think?

The prospect of time travel has always piqued my interest. When I was a child I always wished that I could travel back in time and visit people like George Washington, or Abraham Lincoln to see what they were really like. I also found myself wishing that I could bring them to our present time so that they could see the accomplishments that their country has wrought throughout the world. Later I would find myself wishing the same thing, but only so that they could see the decadence that has taken over out lands. I mused that if it could be done, they could go back and fix things to help out their progeny. But then I thought about time paradoxes. For instance, what if they knew about organized crime and put some sort of provision to halt Italians from immigrating to the States. My ancestors would have never left Italy and my mother would have never met my father and I would have never become a reality. Interesting huh?

I’ve always found myself drawn to movies or books about time travel. The draw is strong, very strong and at times I’ve found it irresistible. But when I became a believer in Messiah Yeshua my priorities became different and I changed my focus. In recent years though, the prospects of time, its manipulation and travel through it have again become strong. The focus is different though, in that I want to know what Yahweh thinks about it and if HE would manipulate it for HIS purpose. My thought was that if I didn’t find something in the Bible about it, I would write it off. The thing though is that Yahweh has in the past, and will in the future manipulate time, even ending it for a short time toward the end of the Tribulation Period, documented in the Book of Revelation.

Science has come to the conclusion, and rightly so, that time is a fourth dimension in our reality. We are versed in the knowledge that we live in a three dimensional world; and that is not bad science, but might be classified as ignorant science. Scientifically speaking, we draw conclusions based upon what can be observed and can be proved in laboratory conditions. I once heard a wonderful description of our three dimensional world. If you walked in a straight line, that would be one dimension. If you walked in one line and then made a right hand turn, you would be acting in two dimensions. If you walked in a straight line, made a right angle turn and then walked up a flight of stairs, you would be walking in three dimensions. It’s a clumsy analogy, but one that gives a less versed person an idea of what a three dimensional world is like. But one thing is missing in the equation, at least in its explanation. There was the act of walking and in that act, work was performed, therefore it wasn’t just a thought, but a action, and actions require time to be accomplished.

Another way to look at it is to imagine a river or stream. If the river flows straight it is acting in one dimension. If it makes a turn it is flowing in two dimensions, but if it suddenly falls over a cliff and creates a waterfall, it is then in three dimensions. Actually, the fact that it is flowing shows that it is seeking its own level, meaning that it is flowing in a very long waterfall. But the water is flowing too, and that is an action. The water had to start at a point of origin and had to take time to get to the waterfall. Therefore, the flow is a dimension that manifests itself within other dimensions. That flow is called TIME.

Some might argue that you can have three dimensions without time, but I dispute that. Look at anything that has two or three dimensions and you will see the result of some sort of work being done to make those dimensions. Even if you have something flat that is drawn at a right angle, some act had to be performed to draw or make such an object. Nothing just appears, but all things have had some effort put into them to make them. If you want to get a simple idea of what three dimensions are, look at any corner in your house where your ceiling and two walls come together. In that corner you have three lines that intersect at right angles; height, width and length. Now, that wall didn’t just appear through some supernatural means, it was built. Some construction workers were paid hourly wages to perform that work. First there was the framer who put up the skeleton of the wall. Then the drywall guy came in and put up the boards of sheetrock. After that the taper came in and taped the joints between the drywall sheets. Then someone came in and put texture on the wall and finally, someone came in and painted the whole thing. That whole process was time working with length, width and height to make three dimensions. You can’t have the three dimensions without the fourth.

We walk through this dimension every day, whether we’re awake or asleep. When you’re asleep you walk through time, not only in that time is ticking away while you lay in bed or in a comfortable chair. But the very blood that is coursing through your veins is moving in time with your beating heart, second by second, minute by minute, hour by hour, it is flowing nonstop. When you dream, the neurons in your brain are moving at light speed producing your dream imaginations, casting you in a play that is produced, directed and choreographed in your own head. When you wake in the morning, rise from bed and stumble into the kitchen to start the coffee brewing you’ve walked in four dimensions. And if you do these things when you’re relatively docile, how much more are you walking through time when you’re active during the day.

Science calls our reality “space time” and it is an apt description. Space is the medium in which time happens and time dictates what happens in that medium. Whether it’s the electrons that orbit the nucleus in a part of your body, the car that takes you to your job, or two stars that orbit each other in a distant constellation, they all need two things to happen; space and time. Space is the first three dimensions and time is the dimension that sets it into action. Or perhaps better put, space is the watch body, the watch face and the gears of the watch and time is the windup spring (or in modern terms – the watch motor) that sets everything in motion.

I am one of those peculiar people that thinks that the Bible has the answers for everything. I believe that it is a model for each and every generation that has lived, is living, or will live upon Earth. Many will argue that the Bible is outdated; that it doesn’t fit into the mold of our 21st century civilization. As usual, people tend to get things backward. It is people who change, not Yahweh and not HIS Word:

Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. Hebrews 13:8

Because many people tend to hold to the Bible being an ancient and nondescript book, they tend not to look to it for answers. Take for instance the issue of “space time,” something that modern science claims to have discovered. Is there something in the Bible that refers to this supposed “recent new discovery?” Well, yes there is, and it says:

That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,  May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. Ephesians 3:16-19

Time For A Word Study:

Well, if you know anything about me by now it’s that I have to tear things apart to see what makes them work. Hey, I’m a guy, that’s what we’re supposed to do, isn’t it? The same is true when it comes to scripture. The scripture above shows us four dimensions of Yahweh’s love for us. That’s right, count them, there are four. I have no doubt that there are many more, but our puny brains couldn’t understand it anyway.

(Strongs – Breadth)  G4114  platos {plat’-os} – 1) breadth a) suggesting great extent

(Strongs – Length) G3372  mekos {may’-kos}  – Length

(Strongs – Depth)  G899  bathos {bath’-os}  – 1) depth, height; a) of “the deep” sea b) metaph. 1) deep, extreme poverty; 2) of the deep things of God.

(Strongs – Height)  G5311  hupsos {hoop’-sos}  – 1) Height, a) of measurement, b) of place, heaven, c) metaph. rank, high station.

As mentioned above, Ephesians 3:16-19 talks about the love of Yahweh toward us. It measures the height, length, width and the all encompassing dimensions of that love. That is four dimensions of His love. Science speculates that there may be as many as ten dimensions in our reality, so in actuality, there could be six other ways to show Yahweh’s love, but we probably could not understand it with our limited understanding capability.

When looking at the Greek words in geometric terms, we have to work in three dimensions to be able to understand. Those of us who have worked in any type of construction know that when working in a two plane scenario, like figuring out the square footage of a floor, you multiply length by width. When working in a three dimensional plane, like figuring out the cubic footage to lay a concrete slab, you have to multiply length, by depth by width in order to know how much concrete to order from the cement plant.

Now in a three dimensional world we have a certain advantage over a two dimensional setting in that we can see three sides to just about everything. If you look at a cube and it is tilted a certain way you can see the top, side and length of the cube. But in our perception, we can’t really see the back of such an object. We have to actually manipulate the cube to see the backside of that object, but when we do so, one of the previous aspects of the view then disappears from sight. The manipulation of the cube involves time, the fourth dimension.

Let’s examine this in the case of a sphere, like that of a globe of our very own earth. If you were some distance out in space you could make out two dimensions, length and height. We take those two angles and call them latitude and longitude. But when we look at it further, the latitude is also the width of a two dimensional view, but it in all actuality we have to call it the diameter because the earth is three dimensional. Diameter multiplied by Pi gives you the circumference; or the Breadth. Knowing that the earth is a sphere and isn’t flat we add a third dimension, which is depth. We can consider the depth as being from the beginning of the atmosphere to the center of the earth. Some might ask why we don’t consider the full thickness of the earth to be the depth? Well, we really can’t because the length measurement is considered in the latitude figure at the equator and that is the width, or the diameter, speaking three dimensionally. Also, we must remember that once you reach the very center of the earth and you continue to pass through the sphere, you are actually moving toward the outside again. If two people were equidistant on the surface of the earth and decided to check the depth at the same time, and they encountered the same barriers during their mission they would both arrive at the center of the earth at the same time. I think another way to describe it better is in the analogy of building an “in wall” book shelf system in a couple of adjoining bedrooms in a new home. It would make much more sense to construct a large two sided bookshelf and incorporate it into the wall while the house was being built. It would be the same bookshelf, but in two different rooms. Now, a few years later, if I wanted to take measurements of those shelves because I want to redecorate one of the rooms I would just measure the depth of the shelf in the room I wanted to redecorate. The depth of the shelf in the other room doesn’t matter. If I measured farther I would exceed the depth of my room’s shelf and I would be exiting my room and entering the other. Thus explains three dimensional depth measurements.

The same deduction can be seen when considering a phrase that we’ve all heard; that being a hole called a bottomless pit. If such a hole in the earth was possible it could never be called bottomless because once an object reached the center it would traveling up and out of the other side. It is true that the Bible in The Book of Revelation talks about a bottomless pit, but using the reasoning above, a physical pit cannot be bottomless. My contention is that the pit mentioned in Revelation, in the Greek pronounced; abussos {ab’-us-sos}, is a spiritual place and is not subject to all of the restrictions of our present reality. While some adhere to the hollow earth theory, I’ve had no proof that it exists. Therefore, if the Earth is a solid structure, hell would have to exist as a spiritual place. Spiritual beings (angels) don’t seem to be restricted by physical realities while they remain in the spiritual realm. When they manifest in the physical realm as physical objects they are then  bound by physical laws. This can be seen with the case of angels when they manifest as flesh and bones. They eat and walk and talk like common human beings, but when they enter again the spiritual realm they become spirits. Demons cannot manifest in the physical realm so they seek physical bodies to inhabit. So, the bottomless pit can exist, but it can’t be a physical place, it can only be a place outside of physical reality. Only spiritual beings could exist in such a place, and they must be manifest in the spiritual.

Finally we come to the fourth dimension of our sphere; that being the breadth. The Greek word for breadth, “platos” is defined as meaning “breadth,” but the definition is in such a way that it “suggests a great extent.” So, what does that mean? Normally, breadth would mean the width of something. But if one looks up the word “extent,” one finds that it means: “the amount of space or surface that something occupies or the distance over which it extends.” So, to put the meaning in its proper perspective, we could define “breadth” as; “suggests the great amount of space or surface that something occupies or the distance over which it extends.” So, it could be used to define the amount of space that Earth takes up or displaces in the space-time fabric. It could also mean that it defines the total land area of Earth or any object when the other three dimensions are added up to their full potential. A few years ago NASA launched a satellite that mapped Earth using radar. The satellite orbited the earth in such a way that every square foot of Earth was mapped accurately. It could be said that it mapped the whole breadth of the Earth. Since any perspective of an object is really only seen in three dimensions (we can’t see the other side of a solid object) then in order to see the breadth requires the fourth dimension for us to see the whole picture. If we were in a geosynchronous (stationary, always over one spot) orbit above Earth we would miss out on the whole view. But, if we use time, in that we move around the sphere of the earth, or stay put and let Earth orbit so that we can map out the hidden side, then we have exercised the fourth dimension, that being time.

I won’t go into this too much because we have another article on the site that talks about the fallacy of the “Big Bang Theory,” for the creation of the universe. We have to understand in layman’s terms what science is trying to promote when they mention the “Big Bang.”

In a nutshell, those who promote that theory say that before the universe began, there was something the size of a dot that was spinning very fast. This dot supposedly contained all of the sub-atomic particles that would some day form into matter. Anyway, this spinning dot somehow exploded and created the universe; not just the matter in the universe, but the universe itself. This material somehow (without any any intelligence whatsoever) all came together to make the elements, that formed the stars and planets and space itself as well as all of the galaxies. Now, let’s take a break, fall to the floor and laugh till it hurts. Okay, now that we’re back under control, let’s proceed. Okay, you can fall down laughing again, but come back for the rest.

The same science that is inculcating our society with the trash above then turns around and tells us that we are living in at least four dimensions and probably more. And don’t forget that all of these ten little strands of our present reality were created by the big bang too, so in addition to creating all we see, feel and experience, this supposed bang also created six other dimensions that we speculate are there but can’t understand. But as we learned above, the four dimensions that we are able to see make up what is called space-time. This has to be true because science says it and it is backed up Biblically. You can’t get much more true than that.

But do you see a problem here? Time and space have to exist together, right? So, isn’t spinning an act of time? Spinning denotes a certain rotation and rotation is measured in minutes, hours or some sort of time sequence. But if the universe didn’t exist then there could not have been space, therefore there was no time, so there could not have been a spin. And then there is the question of the ignition of the bang; a bang being the sound that happens because of an explosion. Any ignition has to have an igniter and both denote time. Then we have to examine what sound is. Sound is measured in waves and waves need a medium to travel through. That medium would have to be space. Even then, sound doesn’t move very well through space. It moves well through an atmosphere and even better through a medium such as water, but as the 1979 movie trailer for “ALIEN” once mentioned, “in space, no one can hear you scream.”

So here’s the summary of this. We had a spinning dot that couldn’t be spinning. This dot explodes without an ignition source and it caused a bang, that could not be heard because there was no space-time continuum yet. Sort of makes the idea of a Divine Creation seem a bit more credible, doesn’t it.

Actually, I just used that title to get your attention. Those of us who live in free societies (or those that pretend to be free), and have some sort of capitalistic system in place probably know about property rights. It used to be (here in America) that when someone bought property, their rights were protected not only on the surface of the land, but under the land also. So, if oil was found under your yard you had the right to drill and market that oil, or to be compensated when someone else tapped into the oil. This was known as mineral rights and had other names also. In modern times mineral rights aren’t always implied in the sale of land and those rights have to be stipulated in the land purchase agreement.

Where nations are concerned, the rights extend to other spheres of influence. For instance, a nation that is surrounded by international waters has sovereignty over the waters out to twelve miles from the low water mark of it’s coastline. If a ship of any kind has hostile intent, the nation that controls those waters has the right to destroy it without facing prosecution from international law.

All nations have what is known as their sovereign national airspace. It too extends out twelve miles horizontally out to sea. The height of a nations sovereign airspace is not clearly defined. Research has showed me that it extends to the reaches of outer space. So what is the altitude where the atmosphere ends and outer space begins? The Federation Aeronautique Internationale has established the Kármán line at an altitude of 100 km (62 miles) as a working definition for the boundary between atmosphere and space. The United States designates people who travel above an altitude of 50 miles (80 km) as astronauts. During re-entry, 400,000 feet (75 miles or 120 km) marks the boundary where atmospheric drag becomes noticeable. So, pick a number.

So now that we see that property owners, states and nations have rights to their property that extend above, below and around their property, what are Yahweh’s property rights.

Where Yahweh, and the property title of the earth are concerned; Yahweh’s proclamation have made things quite clear:

A Psalm of David. The earth is the LORD’S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. Psalm 24:1

Let’s quickly break down the meanings of the words in this scripture. The Hebrew word for earth is “eretz” and in this context, it means the whole earth. The word for LORD is Y’HOVAH, or could be rendered YHWH or Yahweh. It is capitalized when it denotes, “The LORD GOD” of Israel. The word for “fulness,” is “m’lo” pronounced {melo} and it literally means, “the entire contents.” The word for “world” is “tebel” pronounced {tay-bale’} and it could infer “the habitable part.” And finally, the Hebrew word for “they that dwell,” is “yashab,” pronounced {yaw-shab’}, and it means, “they that live, or abide.”

Taking all of the word meanings into account, there can be no dispute by anyone who is honest and takes the Bible to be the inspired word of The Living God; that Yahweh owns the earth, its entire contents, both the inner regions, the atmosphere and the habitable regions, and all of the creatures living on it. But let’s jump down and see that Yahweh’s presence is everywhere.

O lord, thou hast searched me, and known me. Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off. Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether. Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it. Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.

If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me. Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee. For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them. How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.

Surely thou wilt slay the wicked, O God: depart from me therefore, ye bloody men. For they speak against thee wickedly, and thine enemies take thy name in vain. Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee? I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies. Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. Psalm 139:1-24

The scripture above shows how Yahweh is present no matter where anyone might go or when they might go there. After all, HE’s outside of time and space so HE’s not bound by the laws of His own creation. I sort of equate it to looking at one of those trinkets that we have all seen at least once. It is a ball filled with water and it has a scene and when it is shaken little snow flakes invade the scene. Well, Yahweh probably looks at the universe like that; a tiny clear ball that when compared to eternity, is very insignificant. I could do a whole other section on this passage of scripture, but time restraints keep me from making this into one very long document.

We can look at this whole thing from two different perspectives and get the same result. One could look at it from a heavenly perspective; speaking of Yahweh’s Heaven, His abode outside of time and space. From that view nobody could really argue that Yahweh is the God of Space and Time because He (Yahweh) would be looking at His property from the grand view; not just the Earth, but His whole creation.

The other way to look at it would be from the Earth and looking outward toward the very edges of the universe. Earlier we talked about property rights of those who own the property; the mineral rights that go down under the house and such. We also examined air space rights of nations. Imagine if you would, that the lines of a nation, let’s say The United States would extend into the reaches of outer space, sort of like a raised map. Every cubic foot of airspace above this nation belongs to that nation. But on a grander scale, let’s do that with the whole Earth, but instead of stopping at the reaches of space, let’s continue to infinity.

The best way that I could explain it is for the reader to take a flashlight, turn it on and place it against the wall. Now, gradually pull the light away from the wall and notice what happens. As the light moves away from the wall, the beam against the wall gets bigger. That is because the light is diffusing. It’s basically the same thing that happens during a cloudy day. The light hits the clouds, causing the light to spread out evenly (in most cases) and casting light everywhere. That is why you can’t see your shadow when the sky is overcast. Yahweh’s property rights continue to shine as they leave the surface of the earth but they diffuse so much so that they extend to the very ends of the universe. That is how the Scripture can refer to Yahweh as the Lord of Heaven and Earth. Whether looking at it from a Heavenly perspective or of one from the very center of His creation itself, Yahweh owns the turf. The exciting part is that some day soon, He’ll come back to stake His claim of property ownership.

Finally for those who would need more proof from scripture, I present to you what is called, “Joshua’s Long Day.” Here is the scripture:

And it came to pass, as they fled from before Israel, and were in the going down to Bethhoron, that the LORD cast down great stones from heaven upon them unto Azekah, and they died: they were more which died with hailstones than they whom the children of Israel slew with the sword.

Then spake Joshua to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon.

And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day.

And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the LORD hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the LORD fought for Israel. Joshua 10:11-14

And the Book of Jasher backs up the claim:

Thou didst go forth for our salvation, with thine arm thou didst redeem thy people; thou didst answer us from the heavens of thy holiness, thou didst save us from ten thousands of people. The sun and moon stood still in heaven, and thou didst stand in thy wrath against our oppressors and didst command thy judgments over them. Jasher 89:7-8

What the history above illustrates is what is commonly referred to as a miracle. Yahweh suspended time, and in theory everything should have stopped, including the soldiers in the battle. But what Yahweh did is He showed his supremacy over time and space by allowing activity on earth to continue while suspending the time in the rest of the universe for the period of about a day. I don’t know how He did it, and perhaps He’ll explain it to me some day in Glory, but it was done. There has been some talk about those who have used computers to look at time back through history (events in time) have found Joshua’s Long Day, but other accounts tell of this finding being an urban legend, so I reserve judgment on that find until I see solid proof. But I believe the Bible, so that is enough proof for me.

Let’s take a look at the map above. Gibeon is the red dot farthest to the right. It was where the battle ensued the day before the one mentioned in the Joshua scripture above. At the time of the account in Joshua, Israel’s troops were located somewhere between Gibeon and Bethhoran (the middle red dot). So when Joshua commanded the sun to stand still he was looking to the east. Now it stands to reason that battles in Joshua’s day probably started at the same time that battles do in the present day; that being at dawn. How many times have we heard, “we attack at dawn.” When Joshua was looking east at dawn, the sun would have been very low in the sky and it would have appeared to have been right on top of Gibeon. So, we can rightfully attest that dawn was the time when Joshua gave the commandment to the sun and moon. I’ve put a red on the town of Aijalon just as a reference point for where the moon sat during the course of the time. We read that the moon was commanded to stay in the Valley of Aijalon. It is not clear whether Joshua was using that wording to mean that the moon was low in the valley, thus appearing to be in the valley, or if he meant that it was above the valley. To the best of my recollection, the only time that the sun and moon are on opposite horizons is during a full moon and I’ve only seen that during nighttimes. So, my thought in this matter is that the moon was in the sky in the general direction of the valley of Aijalon.

Now the following times and dates are pure conjecture. We don’t know exactly what season, month or day that Joshua’s long day occurred. I only use the following season, dates and such to point out a view. Let’s say for the sake of argument that the attack took place on the summer solstice of that year. In order to get proper times for sunrise we have to look at latitudes of our location. The latitude for Gibeon is roughly the same as it is for Jericho, Israel; or El Paso, Texas. Jericho’s latitude is 31.9 degrees and El Paso is 31.8 North Latitude. With this in mind, we can look up the length of day in El Paso, its sunrise time and since they are so close in latitude, we can interchange the values. On the summer solstice at that parallel, the sun rises at six o’clock local time. So Joshua probably gave the command to the sun and moon right around that time on the day of battle. Now bear in mind that the scripture in Joshua says that the sun stood still for about a whole day. The word for day, YOM means a literal day. So, the sun and moon stood still for about a full day’s time. But the word “about” means that it wasn’t an exact 24 hour period. I submit that the sun stood still for 23 hours and 24 minutes. I will explain below; but first a couple of other things.

Another miracle can be seen in Joshua’s Biblical account. I think that everyone reading this has been in a hail storm at least once in their lives. Have you ever seen the hail discriminate between people? I sure haven’t. When it falls, it falls on everyone who is outside in the storm. The miracle that I see is that Yahweh had the hail stones deliberately hit the Amorites but the stones missed the Israelites. Some say that perhaps the hail stones were actually a meteor shower. Well, then that’s even more a miracle because Yahweh caused meteors to travel millions of miles through space, fall at the exact time that they were needed to fall and only hit the bad guys. This is a good object lesson for those who would purposefully pick a fight with the God of Israel.

And what about Hezekiah’s long day. Well it wasn’t as long as Joshua’s long day, but as we can see below; Yahweh can manipulate time:

And Hezekiah said unto Isaiah, What shall be the sign that the LORD will heal me, and that I shall go up into the house of the LORD the third day? And Isaiah said, This sign shalt thou have of the LORD, that the LORD will do the thing that he hath spoken: shall the shadow go forward ten degrees, or go back ten degrees? And Hezekiah answered, It is a light thing for the shadow to go down ten degrees: nay, but let the shadow return backward ten degrees. And Isaiah the prophet cried unto the LORD: and he brought the shadow ten degrees backward, by which it had gone down in the dial of Ahaz. 2 Kings 20:8-11

Well, when I first read this I marveled. Up to the writing of this article I had never heard of Hezekiah’s long day. But a brief look at the internet found it for me while I researched Joshua’s Long Day. By looking at Hezekiah’s long day we can calculate how long Joshua’s long day probably was. Remember that in the scripture in Joshua, it says that Yahweh stopped the sun and moon from moving for “about a day.” That tells us that it wasn’t exactly a full day. Knowing that Yahweh does everything perfectly, I really don’t think that He’d leave the universe out of sync without making the time up at one time or another.

Some simple math can be used to show us how long Hezekiah’s Long Day really was. The sun dial was a circular object, thus it had to have a circumference of 360 degrees. We need to break the dial up from degrees to percentages. So, by simply dividing the degrees by 100 (for 100 percent) our calculations show us that each degree on the dial was 3.6 minutes long. Multiplying that 3.6 percent by 10 (the percentage the shadow on the dial moved back) shows us that the shadow on the dial moved back 36 minutes. Thus, that one day for Hezekiah was 24 hours and 36 minutes long. So to calculate Joshua’s day, we take 36 minutes off of a 24 hour day and we find out that the actual time that the sun stood still was 23 hours and 24 minutes.  The scripture account says that the sun “hastened not” to go down about a whole day. Hastened is defined as “accelerating,” so what the scripture was saying is that the sun didn’t start to move until that 23 hours and 24 minutes had elapsed. At that time the sun started it’s rise above Gibeon and started it’s course across the sky; hence there was another 14 hours and 50 minutes until it actually set. Remembering that the Hebrew day starts at sundown each day we have to take that into account. So, the day actually started at sundown the day before the sun stood still and technically, the next day couldn’t start until the sun set after the long day event. Here’s the scenario:

  • 8:14 PM the new day started
  • 6:00 AM the sun rises over Gibeon and is commanded to stop
  • 5:24 AM on what would normally be the following day the sun starts to move from over Gibeon and takes 14:50 hours to set.
  • 8:14 PM the sun sets and officially starts the next day.

9:46 (sunset to dawn)
23:24 (the long day)
14:50 (remainder of day after sun moves again)

= 48 Hours

I know what you’re thinking. You’re surmising that I’ve forgotten about the extra 36 minutes from Hezekiah’s long day. If we were to be good mathematicians we have to add that time into the figure above and we come up with 48 hours and 36 minutes. Well, what are we to do with that. Does the Bible stipulate a time where earth’s spin was retarded in order to bring the figures back to normal. After an extensive search, and I mean real extensive; I cannot find such an occurrence. But there is one thing that might make sense if you would be so bold as to entertain my thoughts.

It is pretty well accepted that the calendars of the ancient world changed around the year 720 BC. Before that time most calendars were made up of 360 day years. Even the Bible used a 360 day calendar as a basis for calculating time. Currently, the actual year is 365.2422 days long. But to make things easier, let’s just say that the current year is 365 days, 14.5 minutes long. Something happened circa 720 BC to retard the earth’s rotation around the sun by 5 days 14 minutes and 30 seconds.

One theory is that circa 720 BC, the sun shifted in its position just enough to affect the orbit of the earth, slowing it down to the 365+ day year that we now have. Incidentally, this is right around the time that Hezekiah’s long day occurred. Another theory that Chuck Missler from Koinonia House, at www.khouse.org provides is that Mars had a more elliptical orbit before 720 BC that would have allowed it to come much closer to the earth than it now does. He proposes that at or around 720 BC the orbits came very close and effected the yearly rotation for both planets. For earth, it slowed down our orbit and for Mars it caused it to correct its orbit to where it now is. In either case, something happened at that time to change the way that men wrote their calendars. I think that the extra 36 minutes is somehow figured into the events of that year. That would solve the problem of the extra 36 minutes and bring things back to the 48 hours for Joshua’s long day.

And finally, now some of you are thinking that the 365 day year is not what God intended for our year to be, so there is yet a discrepancy. Well, that is true, but who is to say that the 365 day year will remain that way. Both the book of Daniel and the Revelation both reckon time using 360 day years. Perhaps when Messiah Yeshua comes back he will set the orbits back into a correct stasis and the solar system as well as the rest of the universe will again be what Yahweh originally created it to be. We’ll just have to wait and see I guess.

To recap, we have shown that time is the fourth dimension. We have talked about how the four dimensions that we are aware of, are actually illustrated in the Bible by the Apostle Paul’s description of the four dimensions of Yahweh’s love for humankind. We looked at how the other dimensions really can’t operate without the dimension of time. And, we’ve even talked about how the creator of the dimension of time can manipulate it in special ways. Thank you for taking time out of your busy day to study along with me. Be blessed in Yeshua our Messiah.

If you’ve been around for any length of time or have taken any science classes or have watched any science fiction you will have heard the phrase “space time,” spoken of. If you’re even more versed in these things, you’ve heard the phrase “the fabric of time and space.” These things have always intrigued me because when one thinks of outer space and time we really don’t think of fabric. When we think of space we think of an endless dark vacuum that contains stars, planets and lots of void. When we think of time, we think of perhaps history, the time span of a loved one or maybe even how long it will take to get to work if the rush hour traffic is bad that particular morning. And, when we think of fabric, we think of garments or if we’ve been the outdoors type, we think of a tent or maybe a hot air balloon.

In a prior article on this website we talked about how one day, when the world is at its very worse, Yahweh (The Lord God of Israel) is going to step in and end time. It is the contention of some of us that HE is going to do this, perhaps in response to an attempt by Satan or one of his minions to travel back in time to try to change history and even in a vain attempt to usurp El Shaddai from HIS throne.

How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms; That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners? Isaiah 14:12-17

As far as I’ve ascertained by my study of scripture, Satan has never tried to accomplish this fete yet, but I do feel that he’s going to foolishly try it. In essence, he’s going to try to tweak the space-time continuum. But as for any more mention of that, the other article can be read.

If anyone has done any degree of reading on space-time, one has read that there are theories that tears can develop in the fabric of space-time. To get a better degree of understanding about what fabric really is, I’ve gone to an online dictionary and looked up the word “fabric,” obtaining the following result:

Main Entry: fab·ric
Pronunciation: 'fa-brik
Function: noun
Etymology: Middle French fabrique, from Latin fabrica workshop, structure
1 a : structure, building b : underlying structure : framework <the fabric of society>
2 : an act of constructing : erection; specifically : the construction and maintenance of a church building
3 a : structural plan or style of construction b : texture, quality — used chiefly of textiles c : the arrangement of physical components (as of soil) in relation to each other
4 a : cloth 1a: a material that resembles cloth
5 : the appearance or pattern produced by the shapes and arrangement of the crystal grains in a rock

The best definition for “fabric,” where time and space is concerned, is that of a cloth. Framework could be a possibility, but when one sees how the word “fabric,” is used in scientific circles, “framework,” has to be omitted. When one thinks of framework, they think of the very guts of something. I think of the framework of the house, or perhaps one could use the skeleton of the human anatomy to show what framework means. Several science websites that I visited mentioned that the authors thought that what have become known as “black holes” might be a tear in the fabric of time and space. One black hold wouldn’t tear the whole framework (what holds the rest together) of space-time fabric.

One might try to make the argument that the definition “structural plan or style of construction” might adequately explain what the fabric means. Well, having worked in construction, I am accustomed to these words. The “plan” is just another word for the blueprint of the construction project. You can tear a blueprint but it won’t effect the way that things will ultimately turn out. “Style of construction” wouldn’t work either because the universe is constructed already, and changing the style would effect changes in the entire construction project, meaning the whole universe. Hence, the only good explanation for fabric would be to describe it as cloth.

It should also be noted that when scientific minds talk about the fabric of time and space, they talk about wrinkling space time or other such things. Wrinkling doesn’t fit into the other definitions either. Cloth can indeed be wrinkled and millions of dollars each year is spent in taking out the wrinkles in clothing. The more one thinks about it, the more one comes to the conclusion that the fabric of space can only fit into a cloth analogy.

Gravity affects space-time and causes wrinkles. As mentioned above, objects that science reckons to be black holes are massive wrinkles in space-time. Other objects bend light as they wrinkle space. Below is some information taken from an educational site; the web address is: http://fermat.nap.edu/html/oneuniverse/linked_motion_40-41.html and they seem to give a layman’s view on the subject matter. Note: I copied the article from the site because educational websites are like their institutions, sort of quirky, and pages tend to go down as fast as they go up.

According to Einstein, living in the universe is like living on a huge piece of soft elastic rubber. Space-Time is a medium that has shape and form. Objects within this medium can flex and twist it. Every object in the universe pulls on the space around it, drawing the fabric of Space-Time toward its center. The more massive the object, the more it pulls. The amount of pull exerted by an object on the universal fabric is its gravitational force. So the apple falls to Earth because Earth has warped Space-Time in such a way that the apple must move toward Earth’s center. More massive planets create a deeper warp, imparting a faster acceleration to objects that wander past. The physicist John Wheeler captured these odd notions perfectly: “Matter tells space how to curve, and curved space tells matter how to move.”

Gravity and LIGHT

Just as remarkably, gravity works not only on objects but also on light. After all, like apples and cannonballs, light travels through Space-Time, too. A massive body, such as a star, bends a passing beam of light much as a subtle curve in a putting green bends a golf ball toward the hole. Einstein calculated exactly how much our Sun would deflect starlight in this way. He predicted that the effect should be noticeable during a solar eclipse. In 1919 the British astrophysicist Sir Arthur Eddington set up expeditions to Africa and South America to look for changes in the positions of stars near the Sun during a total eclipse. The displacements were extremely small, an angle less than the thickness of a dime as viewed across a football field. Even so, they matched Einstein’s prediction. At that moment, Einstein became an international celebrity. Such a displacement of light is called “Gravitational Lensing.” It occurs throughout the universe. Massive objects act like handheld glass lenses, magnifying and distorting light waves  from the stars and galaxies behind them.

And in another article, published by the European Space Agency, we read:

The collision of distant black holes generates gravitational waves, ripples in space-time. Space-time can be thought of as a ‘fabric’ in which the objects of the Universe are embedded. Those objects – stars, planets, black holes – make space-time curve in upon itself, just as an elastic fabric holding a ball would do. The more massive the object, the deeper the curve – the same as in a fabric! This is, at least, what Albert Einstein wrote more than eight decades ago. Many of the predictions derived from his theory have been proven already, but not all. For instance: Einstein predicted that if two very massive bodies moved, they would cause ‘ripples’ in the space-time continuum; moreover, those ripples would propagate at the speed of light, alternately stretching and squeezing space. These waves, called gravitational waves, have never been detected. The technology to do it was simply not ready.

ESA’s mission LISA, scheduled for launch in 2014, aims to detect gravitational waves. It will be a new way to ‘sense’ the Universe. By perceiving the movement of very massive objects within a radius of billions of light-years humans will be able to detect some of the most amazing events in the Universe, such as the collision of two distant black holes.

LISA-Pathfinder, due to be launched in 2009, will demonstrate the technology needed for LISA. For LISA to work properly scientists must be able to guarantee that a solid body can float freely in space completely undisturbed, its trajectory always constant. They will also have to be able to control the spacecraft position with an accuracy of a few millionths of a millimetre. These are the technologies to be tested in the ‘LISA Technology Package’, onboard LISA-Pathfinder.

I propose that the reason why two bodies colliding in space-time don’t create ripples (that have been detected) is because instead of the fabric being a rubber or elastic fabric, like science seems to promote, it is more like a cloth fabric. Granted, there are soft elastic materials that absorb shock. One can be seen on American television in an advertisement for a bed that claims that it is made of a space age elastic foam. They show a girl jumping on the bed next to a glass of wine and you can barely see the glass move. But if you look at the glass, you can see ripples in the wine; they’re faint, but they’re there. One has to take into account too that the foam that the young lady is jumping on is aiding in her ability to jump, being that it is slightly elastic.

But what if the lady was jumping on a bed that was made of layers upon layers of cloth; perhaps twenty or thirty down comforters. The young lady would have a horrible time trying to jump because the comforters would use up a lot of the energy that her muscles produced to make her jump. Also, when she landed back down on the comforters she would land in a texture that is so soft and thick that it would totally absorb her impact. Being inquisitive I decided to try the experiment myself. I put a thick layer of what is called egg-crate foam on the floor. Near the edge of the foam I put a glass of water. The foam was roughly the size of a piece of sheetrock, around four by six feet (24 square feet) in area. This was the softest elastic type of foam I was able to find. I dropped different objects of different weights on the foam and, depending on the size of the object, the glass either moved or ripples developed in water ladened glass. I then took three thick comforters (that’s all I had at home) and placed them one on top of the other. They were all king size comforters. I placed the glass in roughly the same area, pressing it down firmly so that it would not tip on its own. Dropping the same objects on the comforters produced what I thought it would. Only when the heaviest objects were dropped in the center of the set-up did the water in the glass show ripples, and they were but minor ripples.

To further satisfy my curiosity, I took a tennis ball and dropped it on each combination. The egg-crate foam allowed the ball to bounce back a little, but when I dropped the ball on the three comforter combination the ball just fell into the fabric, which absorbed all of the energy of the falling ball. Hence, cloth fabric works out better in the scenario.

Even modern day science uses another cloth related analogy to describe what they purpose might be a way to move through space without having to travel in a straight line for many month or years. Science is currently exploring whether anomalies called “worm holes” are real and if so, if they will be reliable ways to move through space. In many parts of the world there is a pest known as a clothes moth. The moth prefers wool but can lay its eggs on other fabric materials. The moth doesn’t eat the material, but it lays a larva that burrow its way through the clothing, making what many call “worm holes” in the fabric. Are you starting to get the correlation here? Now, let’s say that you have a wool sweater that falls to the floor in the closet. The way it lands causes a large wrinkle, so much so, that the bottom of the sweater is touching the collar of the garment. The worm, if hatched at the bottom of the sweater would start eating at the bottom and soon arrive at the collar. Had there not been a wrinkle in the garment and the worm had started at the bottom with the intention of reaching the collar before it was finished, it would have taken the worm a very long time, maybe even longer than its life time. But, because of the large wrinkle, it made the journey in a day or two. It would work the same way with a wrinkle in the space-time fabric, should a “worm hole” in that fabric be found.

Actually, engineers have been making “worm holes” for many years; we call them tunnels. We find them in many mountainous areas of the world. Living in California, with all of it’s mountains and mountain roads, I can really appreciate tunnels. Tunnels speed up travel. It’s much easier to drive through a mountain than to take the winding roads with their many switchbacks, turns and possible hazards. The mountain is wrinkle in the earth’s crust and the tunnel is the worm hole.

Having lived at the Jersey Shore (New Jersey, not the Isle of Jersey) for a few years I saw this born out in the ocean. We used to like to body surf the waves back into the shore. The hard part was to get out beyond where the waves crested so that you could pick up a fresh wave. While going out to that point we would have to contend with the waves that were cresting and crashing near the shore. It didn’t take us long to learn that it was much easier to dive underneath a cresting wave then to fight it by trying to strain against the force of the wave. In a sense, we created our own mini worm holes.

There is one factor that we have to take into account when talking about a wrinkle in time, or the larva eating the wool or even the wave. In the middle of the wrinkle there is a space where the two sides of the wrinkle are apart from each other. For instance, with the sweater, there is a place where the fabric of the bottom touches the fabric of the collar. Now the space might be miniscule, but it is still a space. Between the waves is what is called the trough, pronounced {trawf}, that is a low spot. Right in the middle of that trough there are eddies and micro-currents that are made from each wave. Even in a bed sheet wrinkle there would have to be a space.

Now in order to have a proper space-time fabric wrinkle (one that provide most benefit), the wrinkle can’t be like diving under a wave or conveying in a tunnel through a mountain. Gravity causes mountains and waves to be wider at the bottom and narrower at the top. The wrinkle that you’d need is like one that you’d find if a garment was thrown into a heap, like the description of the sweater in the upward part of this document, or as is illustrated above. The illustration above shows how such a wrinkle would be beneficial by reducing the travel length and time.

The photograph below is an actual wrinkle in a wool garment. I couldn’t provide the moth larva or the results of such an animal’s effects against a garment. Let’s look at the picture then look at some of the implications if the representation of such a wrinkle occurred in the fabric of time and space.

Now if you were that worm and you wanted to eat your way from the earth position to the destination, which way would you go. Remember that moth larva have a short span in that form before metamorphoses turns them into a moth. Of course, you’d want to eat through the bottom because that would get you from point “a” to point “b” the quickest. At least that is what I would do. I realize that not everyone thinks like I do.

But what would you find when you got to the middle of the wrinkle? You’d find a space. It might be a very narrow space, but you’d come to a point where you’d find a different environment in the situation. That presents a problem in the space-time fabric scenario. This area would be a gap in time and space, or dare we suggest it’s another dimension? This dimension wouldn’t be eternity itself, but another reality within our own universe. My suggestion is that this might be the alternate reality that beings like demons and angels (the fallen angels) happen to inhabit.

Well, anyone who takes the Bible seriously and gives it a good and honest scientific study will come to the conclusion that “real science” and scripture agree more often than not. Many early scientists were Christians. One that comes immediately to mind was Sir Isaac Newton, the man who defined gravity. It was only when science started to recognize theory to be law (as in evolution) that science and true scriptural interpretation started to part ways. And it wasn’t the scripture that changed, but scientific thought changed to make room for people who want to advance their preconceived notions.

As noted above, my interpretation of the universe, based on scriptural proofs is that the universe, instead of being like a large piece of soft elastic rubber, is more like a very large cloth blanket, maybe like the blanket that is on your bed. In the Bible verses found below you will see what I’m talking about. In either case, Yahweh describes it as cloth, so I have to go with HIS take on the matter, especially since HE is the one that created it in the first place.

Picture if you will a large blanket with nothing around it, like it is floating perfectly flat in a room that is white, but the room is so large that no walls, floor or ceiling are discernable. I use the image of a room because that is understandable in our finite  minds. But in reality, there are no boundaries to the void that the blanket is floating in. The blanket is coated with Scotch Guard. For those of you who aren’t familiar with what Scotch Guard is I will explain. The product mentioned is applied to cloth material, like couches, the fabric on chairs and so forth, and it guards against liquids or stains. The offending spill beads up on the fabric so that it can be wiped up before it could ever enter and ruin the fabric. For our purposes, we’ll refer to this as Sin Guard.

I firmly believe that before the fall of man in the Garden of Eden, there was no Sin Guard on the garment of the universe. But after Satan’s rebellion and man’s subsequent rebellion in the garden, God had to apply the Sin Guard. Now don’t go looking for a sin guard in the bible because you won’t find one, it’s just a metaphor. But after the rebellion of his creation, eternity had to become an unattainable goal for both fallen angels, demons and human beings. Thus too we have Genesis telling us that Yahweh put a cherub at the entrance of the Garden of Eden so that nobody could enter. Had Adam or Eve ever gotten hold of the fruit of the Tree of Life then humankind would have lived eternally sinful. Later on in time and space, Yeshua entered HIS creation and removed the sin-guard from the fabric so that everyone who believes wholeheartedly on HIS name can again attain heaven when they die or are translated.

In order to understand the true meaning of the scriptures we will study, we must study their meanings in Hebrew for the Old Testament passages and Greek for the New Testament passages. Only then can we see how the meanings correspond with the textual concept of the passage. For the purpose of making things a bit more simple for this author and for the reader, this section is broken into two categories. The first will deal with scriptures that talk about Yahweh’s creation of the universe. The second category will illustrate how Yahweh can manipulate His cloth universe.

Creation Of The Heavens and Earth:

Let’s read the scriptures and then check out the words. Don’t worry, in most of the cases, the words are the same. To see the meaning of a underlined word, just click on it and you’ll be taken to it’s translation and definition which are all located just below:

Which alone spreadeth (natah) out the heavens (shamayim), and treadeth upon the waves of the sea. Job 9:8

Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest (natah) out the heavens (shamayim) like a curtain: Psalm 104:2

I have made the earth, and created man upon it: I, even my hands, have stretched out (natah) the heavens (shamayim), and all their host (tsaba) have I commanded. Isaiah 45:12

And forgettest the LORD thy maker, that hath stretched forth (natah) the heavens (shamayim), and laid the foundations (yacad) of the earth; and hast feared continually every day because of the fury of the oppressor, as if he were ready to destroy? and where is the fury of the oppressor? Isaiah 51:13

He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out (natah) the heavens  (shamayim) by his discretion. Jeremiah 10:12

The Hebrew word for “heavens,” transliterated “shamayim” is the same in all of the scriptures noted above. It always denotes the physical heavens, meaning the sky, atmosphere or physical universe. It is on occasion used to refer to the third heaven; Yahweh’s abode, but only in context with what the whole body of scripture is talking about, and never about a creation in those instances, because Yahweh’s heaven is eternal and outside of time and space.

In all of the scriptures above where either “natah,” “mathach,” or “taphach” are mentioned, all of the connotations are speaking of a cloth nature in Yahweh’s creation of the time-space continuum. The terms of speech make it sound almost like when someone makes up their bed. The sheet is put on the bed and spread out. Then it is stretched tight as the bottom and sides are folded under the bed. Any way you look at it, the heavens are as a material to Yahweh, and HE treated them accordingly when HE formed them.

I found the word “labash” in Isaiah 50:3 interesting because it comes right out and says that Yahweh clothed the heavens. Another word that I found interesting was the word “raqa” which basically says that Yahweh fashioned the Earth much like a blacksmith fashions implements of iron; out of a hot forge HE worked it on HIS anvil until HE was satisfied that “it was good.”

So we’ve seen that the Bible correlates with the scientific notion that there is a fabric to time and space. Yahweh has proved it with HIS own words. Now let’s look at how Yahweh can manipulate that fabric when HE wants to.

Of course, since Yahweh created the fabric of time and space, He must be able to manipulate it to accomplish HIS pleasure. The creation is always subject to the creator, whether it be the forming of a blown glass vase, the tricking out of one’s hotrod or the management of space time fabric. Yahweh mentions several times how HE can and will tweak HIS creation when HE feels the need. Let’s look at the scriptures:

He bowed (natah) the heavens (shamayim) also, and came down; and darkness was under his feet. 2 Samuel 22:10

He bowed  (natah) the heavens (shamayim) also, and came down: and darkness was under his feet. Psalm 18:9

Since Yahweh is the maker of the universe, HE has some unalienable rights over His creation. One of those rights is to be able to come into His creation and tweak things from time to time. These tweaks are commonly known as miracles.

I particularly liked the Isaiah 64:1 scripture where Isaiah is imploring Yahweh to just tear the sky apart and to come down upon the Earth. I can only imagine the weeks or months of agony that Isaiah went through to reach the point where he would beg Yahweh to intervene and just set everything right. I’ve had weeks like that myself; stop the world and let me off Adonai!!

In the first three scriptures Melech David (King David) talks about Yahweh’s visit to earth. It is describing Yahweh’s bending of time and space to allow HIM to enter our physical universe. Jim Wilhelmsen of Echoes of Enoch; www.echoesofenoch.org has done a splendid study of this event in his study of “the Clouds of Heaven,” which I highly recommend. So, as to not steal his thunder, I’ll recede here.

One interesting thing that really got my attention is that four of the scriptures above are all related to each other. The three in the Tanakh (Old Testament) all relate to the Matthew 24 passage. In Matthew 24:29 Yeshua uses some interesting words. The word “dunamis,” which is used for powers actually connotes that it is talking about individuals, not just the energy within the universe. It means “the powers resting in or on armies, forces and hosts.” We know from above that “hosts” is used in many passages to mean angels. Of course, the heavens that are mentioned, transliterated as “ouranos,” means the visible sky, the universe and the sunlit or starry heavens. But the most interesting word in the passage is the word “saleuo” which suggests the removal of someone from a happy state of being or to move or agitate the mind to become disturbed. These things also suggest that the powers that are to be shaken are personages, not really anything like energy or physical laws.

Taking this into account and then adding the three other scriptures, we could read into the combination of passages something like the following:

On that day, the sky will roll up like a scroll, and when it does the armies of evil angels who have happily sat in the expanse around the earth will suddenly fall to earth. They will appear to fall like drops falling from the sky, some like leafs falling and some like figs falling from a tree. They will become agitated and disturbed that they have started the process of being judged by Yahweh. And Yahweh will shake the earth with a great quake, so much so that it will reverse its tilt and/or change its orbit. And finally, with the heavens bowed and rolled up like a scroll, Yeshua will enter the scene and come to save the Jewish Nation and all who believe on HIS Name.

That was sort of an encapsulated version of all that was written. Yahweh is our home builder and HE hanged the wallpaper. Someday He’ll come back to tear down the wallpaper and He’ll hang new paper; paper that is uncorrupt and pleasing to the eye, as it was before the fall of Satan and mankind perverted the creation.

Well, up until now we’ve looked at things that I feel could be backed up by science, if science looked at things from a fresh and unbiased view. We’ve also looked at things from a Biblical perspective. But now I’m going to suggest something that is really bizarre. I must emphasize with the strongest terms that this section is not backed up by science or scripture, but is my own personal view. I also must stress that it is a theory in my own mind and thoughts and is based on pure speculation. So, if you read the rest of this short section and disagree, don’t write to me with your dissatisfactions with me or trying to prove that I’m wrong. My claim is that I could be wrong, but I also could be right. For those of us who are heaven bound, we’ll find out someday when we’ll be able to walk up to Yeshua and ask Him if this was truth or speculation.

Let’s just assume that those physicists who think that the universe is really like a rubber goo, or as I have advanced to you, that it is like a super thick fabric (which the Bible seems to suggest), is really a reality. Let’s assume that the Earth is situated in that fabric, like in the center layer of that throw blanket pictured above. Now, let’s say that eternity is bathed in light. This can be backed up by doing a word study of “light” in the Bible. Light is almost always associated with righteousness, holiness and the attributes of Yahweh when those ideals are being advanced.

My proposition is this. There could be a real possibility that the far distant objects, like galaxies, star clusters and even distant objects in our own galaxy are really background light from eternity. Perhaps the fabric of time and space is woven in some intricate pattern that allows that light to show up as swirling galaxies and such. Now if I’m wrong about this, then no big deal because I offer this as a speculation, not an established fact. But if I’m right, what will be the excuse of those who refuse to believe God but believe in their speculation that those objects are galaxies and star clusters.

To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. – The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Psalm 19:1

The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the people see his glory. Psalm 97:6

Well, we’ve looked at much and studied much. Now, just like after eating a good meal we must sit and digest what we have read. By “suggest,” I mean we must ponder and pray about these things. Now that you’ve read all the above, put your transmission in “Berean” gear and check it all with scripture.

I think it quite possible (being human and faulty) that there might be some things that I missed and invite discussion about this article. But I do ask one thing. If anyone does write, and you have a disagreement with what is written, I pray that you will write with civility and good manners. We’re all adults here, and civilized ones at that, so I implore everyone to act accordingly.

Thank you for reading this article and I pray with all earnest that Yahweh, our Savior Yeshua Ha Mashiach will bless each and every reader with spiritual wisdom. I also pray that if anyone reads this and they haven’t gotten a personal relationship with with El Shaddai, through HIS Son Yeshua, they will take the time to visit the “saved” link on the main page and find out how to do so. As the world plummets into chaos over the next few years, a relationship with Yeshua will be the only thing that give inner peace while alive on earth and also guarantee eternal peace and happiness with Yahweh, as one of HIS.

The purpose of this article is to focus on Yahweh, time travel and the elimination of time during the Tribulation Period mentioned in the Book of Revelation. There are others whom I am associated with who are working on similar writings, but using different scriptures. So, in order to keep things Kosher and not tread on the toes of others, or the work that the Ruach Ha Kodesh is doing through them, we will focus only on some basic scriptures; those being in Daniel, Revelation, Matthew and Mark.

The whole impetus for this study started a bit after Amber, a member of The Delusion Resistance, shared her article about what Yahweh was showing her concerning how she believes that Satan will try to manipulate time so that he can travel back in time and reclaim all that he thinks is rightfully his. The ultimate change that he would like to make is to again try and usurp God’s authority and replace God; a foolish notion indeed. Amber’s article can be found on our Web Site’s category map and it titled, “The Revelation of Time.”

The scripture in Amber’s paper that really caught my attention was Daniel 7:25, which reads thusly:

“And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change TIMES (emphasis, Amber’s) and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.” Daniel 7:25

It is interesting that the angel that is relating this information to Daniel says that the anti-Christ will think to change “times and laws.” Let’s take a look at the Hebrew meaning of the translated words for both the words mentioned above. The Hebrew word for “time,” is:

(Strong’s – time)
 z’man {zem-awn’} (Chaldee);
from H2165; the same as H2165 – season, time

The word as used in this context can only mean season or time. Some have proposed, and rightfully so, that this means that anti-Christ will abolish holidays like Christmas, Easter and other Christian holidays. This would be applicable if the translation were to mean “season.” And since the context of the scripture talks about this evil personage “wearing out the saints of the Most High,” this meaning could be a valid one. But if it actually means “time,” it could mean that the evil one might try to actually change time. Whatever the meaning, these actions will be done to try and end the memory of El Shaddai from the populace of the world. The evil one has already watered down the meaning of Christian holidays to the point where their potency is almost that of water, but there is still a memory by some of the true meaning of Christian holidays. But if he thought that he could either himself or one of his minions could go back in time and prevent the events that the holiday’s commemorate, then there would be no memory of the events because they would have never happened. This is the whole Paradox Notion of time travel, where if you go back and change one thing, many things will change after that.Note that the word “time,” is used also at the end of the scripture. But also note, that it is a different word with a different meaning:

(Strongs – time)
`iddan (Aramaic) {id-dawn’}
Time, as in a) time of duration or b) year

The angel is actually telling Daniel that the anti-Christ will be allowed to pursue these activities for three and a half years:

  • Time – 1×1=1
  • Times – 1×2=2
  • Dividing of a time – 1×0.5=0.5 or 1/2
  • 1+2+1/2=3.5

But notice something else. The last period of time is a dividing of a time. A division can be any amount. We will look at the cutting short of the time later when we look at Matthew 24.

The Hebrew word for “law” in the passage is:

(Strongs – Law)
dath (Aramaic) {dawth}
Decree, law: a) a decree (of the king); b) law;
c) Law (of God)

This is a very interesting word. Basically, it means law as it is decreed by any king or legislative body, and even El Shaddai Himself. But we have to remember that there are laws that exist, that have existed since the Creation of the Universe, that aren’t studied in your run of the mill law school, nor in Christian or Hebrew schools. In the physical world we are governed by scientific laws that El Shaddai established when He made everything. There are many laws of physics, such as the Law of Gravity, the Laws of Thermodynamics, the Law of the Conservation of Angular Momentum and so on. Each of these physical laws pertain to our everyday life and we know them because we live them every day, even when we don’t know what they are.

Most of these laws are fully understood, but like every law, it only pertains to the reality in which it exists. Most scientists if asked if time travel is possible would probably answer no, but their answer is based on some of the physical laws and also the fact that as far as we know, time travel hasn’t been proven through scientific methods. One physicist though, is quotes as saying:

“For us believing physicists, the distinction between past, present, and future is only an illusion, even if a stubborn one.” —Albert Einstein

The thing is that all that we know, up until this moment, is all that we know. Those of us who are born again believers in Yeshua know that there is a spiritual realm. A part of us exists in that realm. It is commonly referred to at our spirit. Unfortunate for us, our fleshly existence blinds us from that reality. But there are other beings that live in that realm, specifically, angels and demons. The Bible tells us that at one time Satan (a Cherub in reality) rebelled and when he did, he convinced one third of the angels to do the same. Nobody knows the true number, but some speculate that it could be anywhere from the tens of thousands to the millions.

When one reads the Book of Enoch, one will see that when these angels rebelled, aside from cohabitating with human females, they also introduced into the world much technology. When Enoch is read, it appears to our modern minds that the technology that the ancients received from these angels was sort of primitive, and it was a perversion of what El Shaddai really wanted for his created creatures. But as we’re not doing an expository of Enoch, we shall move on.

Our premise is, if these angels brought technologies to the ancients before the flood, then they can bring knowledge and wisdom of more vast technology to modern human society. One has to wonder about all of the inventions over the past hundred years or so. Mankind went from horse drawn buggies to interplanetary exploration in just that short time. That is just one instance of the bizarre and oddly accelerated wisdom that mankind had been given.

But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased. Daniel 12:4

The inclusion of Daniel 12:4 into this study was a total surprise to me. I had remembered that there was a scripture that talked about knowledge increasing in the end-times, so I did a search and found it. I can’t just include a scripture without tearing it apart in an original language word study, and this scripture was no different. What I found surprised and thrilled me. Heck, it just plain blew my mind. Thanks Ruach Ha Kodesh, you’ll never cease to amaze me.

The angel tells Daniel to shut up the words and to seal the book. Daniel was writing down all that he saw. Any good student would do such a thing. Daniel was a learned man, at times second only to the King of Babylon. In essence, what the angel was telling Daniel was to close the book (or scroll as the case may be) and to put a seal on it. A seal was usually made of wax and imprinted with the emblem of the King who owned the book or commissioned its writing. Only on the authority of the person who possessed the seal emblem could the seal be broken. A modern day equivalent would be to lock something in a safe and there being only the safe owner and the person who owned the article locked in the safe possessing the safe combination. In the ancient world, opening a sealed document without permission was punishable by death. This was serious business.

And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals. And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, Who is worthy to open the book, and to loose the seals thereof? And no man in heaven, nor in earth, neither under the earth, was able to open the book, neither to look thereon. And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon. And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof. Revelation 5:1-5

Above we have a scroll and it is sealed with seven seals. It is indeed an important scroll having so many safeguards keeping it shut tight. And as I mentioned above, only the scroll owner, or an agent thereof can open the scroll.

I would like to propose a theory, if you will, that there is a connection between the scroll that Daniel wrote, and the one that Yeshua is only capable of opening. Could it be that they are one and the same scroll? There are so many parallels between Daniel and Revelation that it goes way beyond coincidence. Check it out and see for yourself.

Let’s take a look at the Hebrew definitions of the following words and then we’ll tie them all together at after this section of our word study.

The next word that we come to it the word “time.” It is different for the other words we’ve studied that mean “time.” In the definition just below, all instances except for option “c” could be applicable in the context of the passage.

Strongs – Time)
eth {ayth}

Time: a) time (of an event); b) time (usual);
c) experiences, fortunes; d) occurrence, occasion

The next word that we come to is the Hebrew word for “end.” This is the word that truly blows my mind in the aspect of the context of the passage. The word is:

(Strongs – End)
qets {kates}

End: a) end, end of (of time); b) end (of space)

The third word in the passage is the Hebrew word for knowledge. It is:

Strongs – Knowledge)
da`ath {dah’-ath}

Knowledge: a) knowledge, perception, skill.
b) discernment, understanding, wisdom.

Again, most if not all of the definitions fit into the context of the scripture.

And finally, let’s look at the Hebrew definitions for the word, “increase”:

Strongs – Increase)
rabah {raw-baw’}

1. be or become great, be or become many, be or become much, be or become numerous.
2. to become many, become numerous, multiply (of people, animals or things).
3. to be or grow great.
4. to make large, enlarge, increase, become many.
5. to make much, make many, have many.
6. to multiply or increase.
7. to make much to do, do much in respect of, transgress greatly.
8. to increase greatly or exceedingly.
9. to make great, enlarge, do much.
10. to shoot.

So we can see that “increase,” in this passage means just that, to become great. But if you look at number seven, there is an interesting twist to the definition. Increase could mean that many will transgress. A quick thesaurus look at transgress comes up with the following results: lapse, sin, contravene, break the rules, do wrong or violate the law. Because of this meaning, we’ll have to paraphrase two different ways.

So, if we were to tie all of these words together with their Hebrew meanings, what would a paraphrase look like? Well, let’s look at two ways to write it:

But you, O Daniel, close the book and seal the book, up until the occurrence of the end of time and space: many shall move quickly from here to there, and knowledge (wisdom and skill) will grow exceedingly.

Or, if the scenario of evil is inserted instead:

Buy you, O Daniel, close the book and seal the book, even up until the occurrence of the end of time and space: many shall run from here to there (aimlessly) and knowledge of sin and wrongdoing shall increase.

My feeling about the two paraphrases is that they could be melded into one:

But you, O Daniel, close the book and seal it up too. It will remain this way until the occurrence of the end of time and space. Many will aimlessly run from here to there and knowledge (wisdom and skill) shall increase as well as the knowledge of sin and wickedness.

So what the angel is telling Daniel is that at the end of time and space, technology will increase and that many will run around looking for the truth, but will not find it because they are looking toward that technology to solve their problems. Because they won’t be looking to Yahweh for the answers, they will adhere to worldly wisdom and reject the truth. Gee, does that sound like the days we live in? I think it does.

But what really jazzes me about the scripture in Daniel is how it ties in with the scripture in Revelation that we will soon get to.

So when I think about the possibility of evil entities giving time travel technology to humans during the last seven years of human government on earth, it doesn’t seem too impossible an idea to me.

But why would Satan need humans to create such a device if he has the technology. Couldn’t he make the machine himself? Well we have to ask the question; does time exist in the spiritual realm. In every passage in scripture where Yahweh talks about time, even where He’s referring to angels, demons and other things; He mentions time periods. All things seem to have appointed times. But time seems to be a physical property, and physical properties tend to be only reality in a corporeal world. I think that Yahweh equates everything in physical terms so that we can understand with our finite minds. In addition to all of this, we don’t know all of the restrictions that El Shaddai has placed on Satan and Satan’s minions. Maybe they can see all of the past but can’t actually interact with it. That would tend to explain how demons who pretend to be departed relatives can know so much about the person they are counterfeiting.

So since time is a physical property, perhaps in order to change it, a physical being would have to travel back in time to create physical changes. Of course, this is all speculation, but sound speculation nonetheless. Just maybe that is why all of this abduction stuff is happening. Maybe Satan and his emissaries are taking sperm and ovum to create physical creatures that could be embodied by demons who will be commissioned one day during the time of Jacob’s Trouble to start their journey back in time to fight a war against all that Yahweh has brought about. Of course, they will fail, and we will see why below in our study of a scripture in Revelation. In addition to that, we have to remember that El Shaddai has already appointed history to happen, as we see in the following scripture:

Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure: Isaiah 46:9-10

 In the passage, verse 9 ends with the apostrophe after “like me.” So, let’s look at a few words in that verse. The first word is the Hebrew translation of the phrase, “of old.” A wonderful word to say the least as it proves El Shaddai’s eternal existence.

Strongs – Of Old)
owlam {o-lawm’} or `olam {o-lawm’}

1) long duration, antiquity, futurity, for ever, ever, everlasting, evermore, perpetual,
old, ancient, world

a) ancient time, long time (of past)  b) (of future)

1) for ever, always

2) continuous existence, perpetual

3) everlasting, indefinite or unending future, eternity

In this phrase, El Shaddai is telling us to remember His past fulfilled promises. To the people whom were being addressed initially by this passage, He was reminding the reader of fulfillments like His promise to Abraham concerning the birth of Isaac, or how He told Abraham in Genesis 15:13 how his descendents would be slaves in Egypt. These are just two examples that the people of Isaiah’s time could relate to where fulfilled prophecy was concerned.

The first word in the passage that translates out in English as being God is different that the second word that translates out the same. That first word is as described below.

Strongs – God)
‘el {ale}

1) god, god-like one, mighty one  a) mighty men, men of rank, mighty heroes

b) angels c) god, false god, (demons, imaginations)  d) God, the one true God

2) mighty things in nature

3) strength, power

In this meaning, El Shaddai was saying that He was the one true God, in essence, the Almighty God, which is what El Shaddai means anyway. But we see something different with the second word translated in the English to mean God:

Strongs – God)
‘elohiym {el-o-heem’}

(plural intensive – singular meaning)
the (true) God, God

We have to remember that in Hebrew, when a noun is being described as plural, a suffix that sounds like “eem” is introduced to the word. For example, a prophet is known as a Nevi, but the collection of all of the prophetic books of the Bible in the Tenach (Hebrew Bible) is referred to as the Neviim, or Nev-ee-im. The same can be said to the portion of the Tenach which houses the writings, such as Psalms, Proverbs, Esther and others. A single writing is known as a Ketuvah. A collection of writings is called the Ketuvim, or

So if we have a word for God in Hebrew, either “El,” or “Elohah,” and it is turned into a plural we have “Eloheem.” So what does this suggest? It is a fancy way of saying what believers in Yeshua know as the Trinity.

If one were to make a paraphrase about the scripture that we are currently studying, one could express it in the following terms:

Remember the fulfillment of the prophecies that I spoke of and fulfilled in the past: for I am the Mighty One, The one and true God, and there is none else; I am the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and there is none like me, For I tell you what is going to happen far before it ever happens, and from times far in the past I have proclaimed things that are not yet done, and everything I’ve said will come to be, and I will see that it will happen, because it is my pleasure to do so.

If Satan is indeed going to try to invent some sort of time conveyance then he hasn’t read scripture very well. It is quite evident that by looking at Isaiah 46-9-10, that God has written history in advance. He has seen the end of things and has cemented them hard and fast in time’s arena. To even think that any being, either angelic, demonic or human could change any historic event to change the eventual and final outcome is on the order of moronic, imbecilic and/or idiotic. Only a deranged or insane mind could come up with such a scheme. But those terms tend to describe anyone who has practiced sin and has perpetuated it for self gain and gratification.

If the premise above is true than it will be found in more than one place in the Bible. Yahweh has written the Bible in such a way that if some of it is lost, the lost part can be found in other parts of scripture. It is an ingenious code, but we serve an ingenious God. A fellow named Billy wrote to me one day and presented the following scripture. I had seen the scripture maybe a thousand times  but never made the connection. The scripture reads:

And I saw another mighty angel come down from heaven, clothed with a cloud: and a rainbow was upon his head, and his face was as it were the sun, and his feet as pillars of fire:

And he had in his hand a little book open: and he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot on the earth,

And cried with a loud voice, as when a lion roareth: and when he had cried, seven thunders uttered their voices.

And when the seven thunders had uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not.

And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven,

And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer:

But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the mystery of God should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets. Revelation 10:1-7

What could “that there should be time no longer,” actually mean. Well, with that question fresh in my head I went to the Strongs Concordance online and checked out the meaning of the words in context with what is being said here. Okay, are you ready for some meat and potato’s? Let’s get started in a Greek word study. I’m so excited!!

The phrase in Greek is: esomai chronos ou eti

The first word we come upon is a word for the phrase, “that there should be,” is:

Strongs – That There Should Be)
esomai  {es’-om-ahee}

shall be; will be; be; shall have; shall come to pass; shall

All of these words denote what is translated into the English Bible, so there is no mystery there.

The second word in the phrase is the word “time.”   Chronos is defined as: “time,” “season,” “while,” “a while,” and “space.”

(Strongs – Time)
chronos  {khron’-os}

time; season; while; a while; space

Many English words derive from Chronos; like chronograph, chronometer; both words having to do with time or its measurement. The most common usage of the word is “time,” so we will assume that this usage is what is being referred to in this scripture. For a brief moment I thought that the definition of “space” was a noun, like outer space, but it means just a space of time in both scriptures where it is used.

The third word in the phrase is the word, “no.”

(Strongs – No)
ou  {oo}

The word is described as a “definite negative,” meaning that no means no. There could be no other meaning.

The fourth word is the most interesting to me:

(Strongs – Longer)
eti {et’-ee}

1) yet, still : a) of time

1) of a thing which went on formerly,
    whereas now a different state of things exists or has begun to exist

2) of a thing which continues at present: a) even, now

3) with negatives: a) no longer, no more

So, taking into account the meanings of the words, and the context that is present, we can present the scripture the following ways:

  • It shall come to be that time shall be no longer

  • It shall be that there will be time no more

  • Time is now a thing that went formerly, and that a different state of things now exists or has begun to exist.

  • Time, a thing that continued to the present, will exist no longer.

I think that the point is proven here. Yahweh is going to end time as we presently know it. There is a good chance that at this time the spiritual realm and the physical realm will not only coexist together, but will be present in the same plane. Spooky huh? A lot of things could be explained by this. For instance, when John saw angelic beings in the Revelation, perhaps (and this is pure speculation) everyone else after the Sixth Trumpet will see them too. The Dragon is seen in the heavens after this trumpet and Satan is cast out of heaven after this time too.

There is more in the unseen world than meets the eye; no pun intended. In the Second Book of Kings there is a story about a prophet named Elisha. Elisha was being sought after by the king of Syria. Seems that Yahweh had been giving Elisha the Syrian king’s battle plans every time and Elisha was passing the information on to the Israeli king. The Syrian king, when he finally found out what was happening decided to hunt down Elisha and kill him. So in the scenario, Elisha and his servant were hold up in one city and that night the Syrian army surrounded the city. Elisha’s servant rose up early and saw the armies and was frightened, so he asked Elisha what they were to do. And the story goes thusly:

And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do?

And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.

And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha. 2 Kings 6:15-17

It’s my contention that when Yahweh puts an end to time the two realities, both spiritual and physical will be in synchronization. At that time, everything that happens in either realm will be view by those in either realm. The sight of the evil angels, in their decadent state, along with their offspring, the demons, will be a horrifying sight to mere mortals. And imagine the horror to the evil people on earth when they see their mentors (evil angels and demons) being defeated left and right, minute by minute and so on. No wonder they will plead with the mountains to fall on them to put them out of their misery.

Amber mentioned in her article that it is her contention that Satan will try to get mankind to make a time machine so that he can go back in time to change all of the mistakes that he has made in the past; an effort to again try to attain the throne of El Shaddai. But one thing that a fellow named Billy wrote to me was the following scenario.

His premise was that if mankind was successful, through advanced technology presented to him by evil angels, in making a machine that could send someone back in time. Billy’s idea, and one that I could see Yahweh pulling off, is that when Satan finally gets the chance to go back in time, El Shaddai plays his trump card and says, “okay, I’m going to do you one better, I’ll just eliminate time. You can’t try to change something that doesn’t exist anymore.” Pretty cool huh??

Of course, any subject is easier to swallow if Yeshua happens to bear witness to it. But does Yeshua make any reference to time ending? Let’s look at two scriptures, one in Mark and the other in Matthew and see if they draw any parallels. In Mark we read:

For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be.

And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect’s sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.

And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not:

For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.

But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.

But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,

And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.

And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. Mark 13:19-26

And now let’s look at Matthew and then do another word study and such:

For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.

Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.

For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

Behold, I have told you before.

Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.

For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.

Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:

So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.

Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. Matthew 24:21-42

First, we can see that both passages tell that “the days will be shortened.” we have to look at what this means by looking at the Greek words for the phrase.

The Greek word for “Days” in the passage is:

(Strongs – Days)
hemara  {hay-mer’-ah}

of the civil day, or the space of twenty four hours
(thus including the night)

Note that the same word is used, “days,” in both instances where the word is found in the passage.

The Greek word for “shortened,” is:

(Strongs – Shortened)
koloboo {kol-ob-o’-o}

1) to mutilate

2) in NT: to shorten, abridge, curtail

The first meaning is “to mutilate.” Mutilate, as defined by the Merriam Webster online dictionary means “to cut off.” The second definition means to shorten, abridge or curtail. Curtail means to make less by, or as if by cutting off or away some part. To abridge something means to reduce in scope or to shorten in duration or extent.

Now we have to remember that Yeshua said that the “days” will be shortened. “Days” constitutes a period of time, longer than one day and unspecified in duration. So, in essence, Yeshua is saying that at some time during the Tribulation Period, time is going to be cut off, or eliminated. So again, we have the scenario of time ending. In our contention that perhaps Satan is going to try to go back and change history to favor his wanton lust for power, we can see that El Shaddai will end time as we know it.

We see something very interesting in both Matthew and Mark. In Matthew, Yeshua tell us:

Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

And in Mark, His sentiment is echoed:

But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,

And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.

And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.

Now let’s look at this thing for a minute from a scientific standpoint. It’s quite clear that El Shaddai is going to suspend time. What impact will that have on the heavens. What does time have to do with the heavens. Time is equated with atoms. The sub-atomic particles called electrons that orbit all atoms do so in a time sequence. If there is no time, electrons cannot orbit. The same is true on a larger scale with the planets in our solar system. They are basically like large electrons, orbiting our sun, which is like the nucleus of an atom. Orbits require time and space. Without time or space, their orbits would cease to be and it is possible that they would just fall from the sky. I’m not saying that they would fall to Earth, but would just lose all of their mass, energy and everything else equated with time. Even the stars would appear to fall from the heavens, not having mass nor energy. Time impacts so many things.

The Sun would not be able to shine it’s light because time will be no more. The burning of its fuel and the fusion of the hydrogen atom which happen on the sun, all need time to be possible. It is interesting that El Shaddai will allow the sun and moon to remain in our skies instead of falling like all of the other heavenly bodies. Perhaps this will be allowed in order to show rebellious mankind that Yahweh is Lord of Heaven and Earth and that HE is all powerful.

With all of the stars and planets gone from view it will be very easy to see the sign of the coming of the Son of Man in the heavens. Many scholars believe that the clouds that Yeshua returns with are in all actuality all of his saints whom Revelation says will return with him when he physically comes back to earth.

In all fairness, I have to add another take on this matter. In the Bible, there are numerous mentions of “stars,” and those mentioned are done so as if they are personages, not stellar bodies. Because of this, many believe (and quite rightly so) that the stars mentioned in the passages above could be talking about the rebellious angels. It is quite possible that this is right, but also (as we shall study below) that the true stars and constellations will be darkened in addition to the stars (angels) falling to earth.

Well to be quite frank, I really don’t know. I personally think that it will last until Yeshua returns to Earth. I come to this conclusion by observing several things.

First, the time of Yeshua’s return is referred to many times in the Old Covenant as, “the Day of The LORD.” Time has to exist in order for there to be a “day” of the LORD. Days are made up of seconds, minutes and hours – time.

Shall not the day of the LORD be darkness, and not light? even very dark, and no brightness in it? Amos 5:20

Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it. For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine. Isaiah 13:9-10

And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come. Joel 2:30-31

The Hebrew word for “day,” is as follows:

(Strongs – Day)
yowm {yome}

day, time, year: a) day (as opposed to night)
b) day (24 hour period) as defined by evening and morning in Genesis 1;
as a division of time – a working day, a day’s journey

The Hebrew word for LORD, is as follows:

(Strongs – LORD)
Y’hovah {yeh-ho-vaw’}

Jehovah = “the existing One”

the proper name of the one true God

In almost every instance where the “day of the LORD,” is mentioned it means a literal day, and it is the LORD’s day. Note that the reference in Joel says that the attributes of the period he describes, is before the Day of the LORD.

It is also interesting to note that sun, moon and constellations will be darkened. This would cause one to think that they didn’t fall from the sky, but lost their luminosity. Light travels to us in what is called “light years.” No time equals no years equals no light. Imagine coming out of a house or in this case, a cave or underground shelter only to find that everything is so dark that you can’t even see your hand in front of your face. So it will be at this time. Remember, the flashlight won’t work, nor will there be any artificial lighting, because there is no time. Of course all people will see Yeshua returning with his saints because it will be the only thing to see.

But we know that there will be time again during the Millennial reign of Messiah Yeshua. One reference says:

There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed. Isaiah 65:20

Aside from that, there are many references in the prophets concerning Millennial Israel that use references like, “at that time,” or “in those days,” or other similar phrases; all indicating that there will be time again. It appears that the cessation of time during the Tribulation Period will be a temporary thing.

So the riddle continues. I can’t answer the question of how long the period of “no time” will be, simply because there will be no time to reckon that period by. If one can figure out where the Seventh Trumpet fits into the scenario, then one could figure out roughly when “no time” will start.

It is awful interesting that Yahweh ends time and it is for the sake of “the Elect.” In New Testament terms, the Elect always refer to true believers in Yeshua Ha Mashiach. Now don’t we find it funny that just at the last trumpet blows, time ends and the Elect are kept from being deceived. What better way to keep the Elect from being deceived than to pull those of us who are left, out of the picture.

Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 1 Corinthians 15:51-52

I surely wouldn’t want to be alive on earth after time ends and the believers are removed from the earth. It will be a horrible time on this planet with the unseen world being manifest to the physical world; terrible looking demonic entities in concert with their angelic hosts torturing any people left on earth. There will be people openly committing the most heinous of sins and there will be no remorse whatsoever. People will beg Yahweh to kill them but they will not find death. It will literally be hell on earth. More can be read about the Harpazo (rapture) by reading that article on this website.

Well, I think we can all agree that there are some interesting times coming for those who dwell on the Earth. I think that the argument is pretty convincing and the scriptural evidence is sound, that there will be a cessation of time some time in the future, and it will be Yahweh orchestrated. Mankind has always strived to rid itself of Yahweh, but mankind fails to realize that when Yahweh finally gives man the freedom to run this world by himself without Yahweh; Yahweh will remove not only Himself, but his people and a lot of the Yahweh created physical laws that govern the universe. Mankind must pay the piper if it wants to sing its own song. Oh, and we all know who the piper is; Pan = Lucifer = Satan!

Thankfully, there is a way to avoid this horrible period. That way is to get a personal relationship with Yeshua. He is Yahweh and is able to save all who call on His name. This is better explained on a special page on this website that you can access by clicking on the link at the top of the main page. And to quote an old phrase that us Hippy Christians used to say when we parted company; “see you there, or in the air.” Be blessed in Yeshua’s Love.
