The Bible Helps The Brainiacs

For all the scientists out there and for all the students who have a hard time convincing these people regarding the truth of the Bible…here’s something that shows God awesome creation and shows that He is still in control.

Did you know that the space program is busy proving that what has been called “myth” in the Bible is true?

Mr. Harold Hill, President of the Curtis Engine Company in Baltimore Maryland and a consultant in the space program, relates the following development.

“I think one of the most amazing things that God has for us today happened recently to our astronauts and space scientists at Greenbelt, Maryland. They were checking the position of the sun, moon, and planets out in space where they would be 100 years and 1000 ! years from now. We have to know this so we won’t send a satellite, up and have it bump into something later on in its orbits. We have to lay out the orbits in terms of the life of the satellite, and where the planets will be so the whole thing will not bog down.

They ran the computer measurement back and forth over the centuries and it came to a halt. The computer stopped and put up a red signal, which meant that there was something wrong either with the information fed into it or with the results as compared to the standards. They called in the service department to check it out and they said, “What’s wrong?” Well, they found there is a day missing in space in elapsed time. They scratched their heads and tore their hair.

There was no answer.

Finally, a Christian man on the team said, “You know, one time I was in Sunday School and they talked about the sun standing still. “While they didn’t believe him, they didn’t have an answer either, so they said, “Show us.”

He got a Bible and went back to the book of Joshua where they found a pretty ridiculous statement for any one with “common sense.” There they found the Lord saying to Joshua, “Fear them not, I have delivered them into Thy hand; there shall not a man of them stand before Thee.” Joshua was concerned because he was surrounded by the enemy and if darkness fell they would overpower them. So Joshua asked the Lord to make the sun stand still! That’s right -“The sun stood still and the moon stayed-and hasted not to go down about a whole day!” (Joshua 10:12-13)

The astronauts and scientists said, “There is the missing day!” They checked the computers going back into the time it was written and found it was close but not close enough. The elapsed time that was missing back in Joshua’s day was 23 hours and 20 minutes – not a whole day.

They read the Bible and there! it was “about (approximately) a day” These little words in the Bible are important, but they were still in trouble because if you cannot account for 40 minutes you’ll still be in trouble 1,000 years from now. Forty minutes had to be found because it can be multiplied many times over in orbits.

As the Christian employee thought about it, he remembered somewhere in the Bible where it said the sun went BACKWARDS. The scientists told him he was out of his mind, but they got out the Book and read these words in 2 Kings that told of the following story: Hezekiah, on his deathbed, was visited by the prophet Isaiah who told him that he was not going to die. Hezekiah asked for a sign as proof. Isaiah said “Do you want the sun to go ahead 10 degrees?” Hezekiah said “It is nothing for the sun to go ahead 10 degrees, but let the shadow return backward 10 degrees.” Isaiah spoke to the Lord and the Lord brought the shadow ten degrees BACKWARD!

Ten degrees is exactly 40 minutes!

Awesome Demographics

Moses and the people were in the desert, but what was he going to do with them?  They had to be fed, and feeding 2 or 3 million people requires a lot of food.

According to the Quartermaster General in the Army, it is reported that Moses would have to have had 1500 tons of food each day. Do you know that to bring that much food each day, two freight trains, each at least a mile long, would be required!

Besides you must remember, they were out in the desert, so they would have to have firewood to use in cooking the food. This would take 4000 tons of wood and a few more freight trains, each a mile long, just for one day. And just think, they were forty years in transit.

And Oh yes! They would have to have water. If they only had enough to drink and wash a few dishes, it would take 11,000,000 gallons each day and a freight train with tank cars, 1800 miles long, just to bring water!

And then another thing!

They had to get across the Red Sea at night. Now, if they went on a narrow path, double file, the line would be 800 miles long and would require 35 days and nights to get through. So there had to be a space in the Red Sea, 3 miles wide so that they could walk 5000 abreast to get over in one night.

But then, there is another problem. Each time they camped at the end of the day, a camp ground two-thirds the size of the state of Rhode Island was required, or a total of 750 square miles long; think of it! This much space for camping. Do you think Moses figured all this out before he left Egypt? I think not! You see, Moses believed in God. God took care of these things for him.

Now do you think God has any problem taking care of all your needs? His promises are true, And when we give Him all our cares, You know He will see us through. Our God is an Awesome God!!

So when the road you’re traveling on seems difficult at best, just remember I’m praying and God will do the rest.

I’d like to preface this article with a brief semi-biographical account of how Yahweh has operated in my life and through it. I guess it all started back when I first became a true believer in Yeshua (Jesus) by way of a Born Again experience in Him back on July 21, 1979. I really didn’t know what to expect when I prayed that prayer. I just knew that I had to pray it and that the time was right. I was tired of running from my pursuer, Yahweh, and knew that it was time to face the destiny that He had prepared for me since before the foundation of all that He created in our plane of linear existence.

Ever since I was a young child I was fascinated with the future and those who claimed that they could predict it. I was one of those people who would read predictions for the new year that all of the crackpot psychics would publish in the newspapers every January. The one thing that bothered me was that they were never right. Oh sure, sometimes they would hit a bulls-eye with a prediction that was so vague that it had to come true. There could be no doubt there would be a great earthquake somewhere in the world that would kill thousands or there would be a bad hurricane that year that would destroy much property, but anyone could predict that and have a fairly wonderful chance of their prediction becoming reality. I became interested in the writings of Nostradamus and tried to make sense of them, but they too were sort of vague; and were written with an air of mystery about them. I figured that someone who could truly tell the future and with some accuracy would have to not only do so, but they would have to have a good track record. It also made sense to me that they should also make things plain and simple so that everyone could understand.

So about a year before I came to faith in Yeshua I picked up a book at some store in or around Vacaville, California which is where I lived. The book was called, “The Late Great Planet Earth,” and was written by some guy named Hal Lindsey. It claimed to have all of the answers. I got the book home and placed it on my bookshelf with the purpose of reading it some day. I moved back to New Jersey for a year and went through an awful time of dealing with who I was and where I fit in the scheme of the universe. My life was a mess. Drugs had clouded my mind. My cousin was dealing drugs and hence I had what I wanted and got it for free. What more could a person ask for I pondered. I then noticed that the narcotics squad was following me around which I surmised was due to my cousin’s business and it scared me. One night that same cousin lied to me by telling me that the powder that I was about to snort up my nose was cocaine, but it was in effect Angel’s Dust. I had a bad time that night and went into the bathroom and saw the face of a dead person in the mirror and it caused me to realize that this was not where my destiny lay; there had to be something else.

So I started to delve into some really strange stuff. I read books by a woman named Ruth Montgomery which appealed to my logic. I was told on those pages that I was a good person no matter what I did and that I didn’t have to worry about doing wrong because there was no hell and no accountability to anyone except myself. But as good as that sounded, in the back of my mind it sounded shallow and empty, sort of like the promise of a real Santa Claus is told a young child.

Anyway, after a series of small miracles happened I found myself driving back to California with my sister. One of those miracles being that we didn’t kill each other. We didn’t get along very well back then. I got back to Vacaville and read the book that I had purchased the year before. I was astonished with the content on the pages of that book. It explained to me how the God of Israel had prophesied many things and how they had come true in both the first advent of Messiah Yeshua and also in modern events; like the rebirth of Israel and other such things. It then went on to describe the book of Revelation and events that it claimed would soon come to pass. Finally, I had found someone who could predict the future, had done so in the past and had actually caused events to happen. Not only was this person a seer, He was actually the one who wrote history before it happened and caused it to happen, His name was Yahweh! This was real cool.

Of course this gave me a real thirst for prophecy and I did extensive studies of all of the prophetic books, from Isaiah through Malachi. I also became interested in the lives of the prophets. They were unusual people; not really trend setters of their time. They weren’t the type that had to keep up with the Jones’ and for the most part, Yahweh was the most important in their lives. They ate, lived and breathed El Shaddai and had only HIS purpose as the intent of their lives. I wanted that type of life and prayed about it so many times that I probably could never count the prayers. You see, I’ve always been the type of person who bucks authority; earthly authority that is. I’ve been able to do that because I know that I answer to a higher authority. Now that doesn’t mean that I act disrespectful of the authorities that Yahweh places over us; but it does mean that if HE wants a message conveyed it will be given without fear of retribution.

Since that time, Yahweh has used me in a variety of prophetic ways; either through dreams or visions and sometimes just utterances in words of knowledge. I enjoy being used this way, but like the prophets of old, the messages more often than not go against the grain of the people or organizations that I am told to write to. It’s lonely sometimes and it’s sometimes sad when people dislike me or think I’m some holy Joe because I actually do what Yahweh tells me to do. And most of the time the ridicule or dislike comes from Christians; the very people who are supposed to thirst for words from Yahweh. Yeshua’s words were true when he told the people that a prophet has no honor in his own land. But the important thing that is always to be remembered is that although people might have disdain for the messenger, they really have it for the message and the author of the message. The messenger usually takes the brunt of the abuse because he or she is tangible and available to abuse. The message is just that, a message and although it can be either accepted or ignored, it isn’t tangible (so to speak) and can’t be persecuted. And of course, the author, The Lord God of Israel, who all too often receives verbal abuse, can’t be hurt physically.

The Vision:

With that brief history behind us now I can get to the matter at hand. Back in October of 2005 I had surgery on my left ear which had been slowly going deaf for the past twenty years or so. Praise Yeshua that the operation was a complete success. I asked many people for prayer prior to the surgery and if you are one of those people, I thank all of you for your prayers. The petitions to our Father made the ear heal faster than expected. When I saw the doctor, almost a month after the surgery he was surprised that I could hear out of the ear at all. I guess it usually takes longer in most people. I told him that it was the result of lots of prayer. Being the over-educated professional that he is, he gave me the usual patronizing look; like a father that has a mixed up kid. Well then, praise God we’re all mixed up and crazy for Yeshua.

Anyway, because the ear is working so good I can hear things that I haven’t heard for years. I can hear the television at sound level four instead of the nine or ten that was needed before. My poor neighbors; what they must have gone through, oy veh! Of course I do hear things that I’d rather not hear, like the jets that fly over as they leave Sacramento International Airport. Although they’re flying high before the reach my area, I can still hear them. I find the birds quite annoying in the morning too. But, earplugs have helped me so there is relief. But, I would not trade in the effects of the surgery because of a few annoying things.

One blessed event happened about three weeks after the surgery, when I was at Church. The fellowship that I was attending at that time had communion about once a month. I wished it was every Sunday, but I guess you have to take what you can get. For the longest time, whenever we would take communion, I would hear myself or perhaps the person next to me chewing the tiny little piece of hard oval shaped tablet looking piece of bread. Sorry, but that’s the pharmacy technician coming out in me. Everything looks like some sort of pill or capsule. Then we drink our grape juice and that part of the service is over. But things have changed since the surgery.

So that Sunday the emblems were passed and we all waited patiently until everyone was served. The pastor, Mike Fraga talked about the importance of the emblems and said a few other words that escape me at the moment. After a short prayer over the bread he asked everyone to partake. I started to laugh at this time because I could hear everyone around me chewing on the hard piece of bread. Funny too was that we were all chewing in unison. After the bread, the pastor said a prayer over the grape juice and we all partook of that too.

The biggest difference about this one Sundays’ Communion is that the Lord gave me a vision. I’ve had them in church before; things like the Holy Spirit falling on the whole congregation like a large white blanket and stuff like that. This vision was different though. As I heard all of my neighbors chewing on the bread emblem I saw a vision of the demons in what I assume was their abode. It was a dark place and they were in some sort of fortification, like a castle or something of the like. It sort of reminded me of perhaps a place like Carlsbad Caverns, dimly lit and enclosed. Anyway, as the chewing went on, with each grinding bite of the bread it was as if waves were passing through that demonic realm and the fortifications were shaking and about the time the chewing stopped, the buildings had crumbled to the ground. The demons were in hysterics. I don’t know if it was because they didn’t know what was happening or if it was the anxiety of having the buildings fall after they were again rebuilt.

The sight was horrid. To begin with it was a dark and evil looking place, foreboding, a place that any sane person would not want to go to. The waves that came through the place destroyed the everything, like some earthquake; a 15 on the Richter scale came through and rumbled for many minutes. It sort of reminded me of pictures that I’ve seen of earthquake damage that happen overseas in places where the buildings are made of brick or stone. Not one stone was left upon another in any orderly fashion.

When it came time to drink the grape juice I again saw the unholy kingdom in ruins and the demonic personages were sort of starting to relax, like they were contemplating how to rebuild yet again. But the sound of the juice pouring down our throats turned into a tsunami type of wave that came into the cavernous realm and swept away the demons and their buildings. It was a vivid vision that I will probably never forget. I guess you could say that our actions are akin to what God and the Jewish people did when they marched around the walls of Jericho, but we do it in the spiritual realm.

So, being the inquisitive person that I am, I asked the Lord what this all meant. He had me flash on the Last Supper and I reflected on the words of Yeshua when he said, “this do in remembrance of me.” Then it hit me like a bolt from the blue. Remembering Yeshua and what He did for us, and the covenant that He gave us through His crucifixion and resurrection was a death blow to Satan and his little emissaries. Each and every time that we take the bread and wine (or grape juice) we are reaffirming our covenant with the Lord. We are remembering our relationship with Him and it drives the demons in the unseen world absolutely crazy. All of the work that they’ve done through the week is destroyed. All of the crap that is fed to us on television, in the newspapers and magazines; all of the stuff that we hear on the radio or hear from the unsaved at work or at play is all knocked down and washed away because we yet again acknowledge that Yeshua was bruised for iniquities and we are healed by His stripes. The blood of Yeshua has washed all of that stuff away and we again recognize that, “although our sins were as scarlet, yet we are as white as snow.”

Can you imagine the frustration that happens in the demonic realm when we take communion. First, as mentioned above, it destroys all of their work when we acknowledge our Lord and what He did for us. Second, it reminds them of the crucifixion; how they made the biggest blunder in the whole universe by influencing their human puppets to crucify the Son of God. Then they’re reminded of the Resurrection when Yeshua conquered their realm of death. And thirdly, it reminds them of their future doom. They’re reminded that some day in the near future, they will all be cast into the Lake of Fire to be tormented for eternity. What a blessing we get when we take communion.

I am convinced that each day that we move closer to the return of Yeshua, He’s going to reveal to each and every one of us that everything we do has some sort of implication in the spiritual realm. That should be enough to make each and every Christian walk a very sober walk with Yeshua.

Unworthily Taking Communion:

I had always wondered why Paul gave such a stern warning to people, telling some to not partake in the Communion if they weren’t grounded in Yeshua. Well now the answer is so clear. Imagine not having a right relationship with Yeshua and yet affirming His sacrifice. That person is in effect saying, “well, I don’t accept what you did, and I don’t acknowledge that it is for me, but I’ll celebrate it anyway.” It would be akin to crashing a wedding reception without being invited. It is in effect making a mockery of the ceremony in order to be self acknowledged and socially accepted. Here’s what Paul said about the matter:

For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come. Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body. For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.
1 Corinthians 11:26-30

Another way to look at it would be from a warrior’s point of view. Imagine being on the bad side of a conflict and hearing that the general of the good side is having a party for his soldiers. So, being on the bad side you still enjoy a party and want to participate. You dress in the uniform of your foe and sneak into the party. The host of the party realizes that you are the enemy and at the same time your own commander finds out that you’ve switched uniforms and thinks you’ve gone over to the other side. The good general will treat you as a spy because you’re out of your own uniform and your own general will treat you as a deserter and traitor. You’re dead meat any way you look at it. There’s no walking the fence where the spiritual battle between good and evil are concerned. You’re either on one side or the other. Don’t be deceived; God will not be mocked!

So the next time any of us takes Communion, we should realize that in addition to it being done in remembrance of our Lord Yeshua and what he did for us, we should also remember that we’re fighting a battle in spiritual warfare. We create hellquakes that have very valuable implications. You know what, I think that the next Communion Service, I’ll take two pieces of bread and two vials of grape juice and really frustrate those who are out to destroy us. Vive’ Le Resistance!!! Blessed be the name of Yeshua Ha Mashiach!!!

On September 20, 2009, the President of Israel; Benjamin Netanyahu spoke to the United Nation, admonishing them for their inaction toward terror against Israel and for allowing the Iranian dictator Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to preach hate there.

Only Benjamin Netanyahu could admonish the U.N. with such tact and grace.

Mr. President, Ladies and Gentlemen,

Nearly 62 years ago, the United Nations recognized the right of the Jews, an ancient people 3,500 years-old, to a state of their own in their ancestral homeland.

I stand here today as the Prime Minister of Israel, the Jewish state, and I speak to you on behalf of my country and my people.

The United Nations was founded after the carnage of World War II and the horrors of the Holocaust. It was charged with preventing the recurrence of such horrendous events.

Nothing has undermined that central mission more than the systematic assault on the truth. Yesterday the President of Iran stood at this very podium, spewing his latest anti-Semitic rants. Just a few days earlier, he again claimed that the Holocaust is a lie.

Last month, I went to a villa in a suburb of Berlin called Wannsee. There, on January 20, 1942, after a hearty meal, senior Nazi officials met and decided how to exterminate the Jewish people. The detailed minutes of that meeting have been preserved by successive German governments. Here is a copy of those minutes, in which the Nazis issued precise instructions on how to carry out the extermination of the Jews.  Is this a lie?

A day before I was in Wannsee, I was given in Berlin the original construction plans for the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp. Those plans are signed by Hitler’s deputy, Heinrich Himmler himself. Here is a copy of the plans for Auschwitz-Birkenau, where one million Jews were murdered. Is this too a lie?

This June, President Obama visited the Buchenwald concentration camp. Did President Obama pay tribute to a lie?

And what of the Auschwitz survivors whose arms still bear the tattooed numbers branded on them by the Nazis? Are those tattoos a lie?  One-third of all Jews perished in the conflagration. Nearly every Jewish family was affected, including my own. My wife’s grandparents, her father’s two sisters and three brothers, and all the aunts, uncles and cousins were all murdered by the Nazis. Is that also a lie?

Yesterday, the man who calls the Holocaust a lie spoke from this podium. To those who refused to come here and to those who left this room in protest, I commend you. You stood up for moral clarity and you brought honor to your countries.

But to those who gave this Holocaust-denier a hearing, I say on behalf of my people, the Jewish people, and decent people everywhere: Have you no shame?  Have you no decency?

A mere six decades after the Holocaust, you give legitimacy to a man who denies that the murder of six million Jews took place and pledges to wipe out the Jewish state.

What a disgrace!  What a mockery of the charter of the United Nations!  Perhaps some of you think that this man and his odious regime threaten only the Jews. You’re wrong.

History has shown us time and again that what starts with attacks on the Jews eventually ends up engulfing many others.

This Iranian regime is fueled by an extreme fundamentalism that burst onto the world scene three decades ago after lying dormant for centuries. In the past thirty years, this fanaticism has swept the globe with a murderous violence and cold-blooded impartiality in its choice of victims. It has callously slaughtered Moslems and Christians, Jews and Hindus, and many others. Though it is comprised of different offshoots, the adherents of this unforgiving creed seek to return humanity to medieval times.

Wherever they can, they impose a backward regimented society where women, minorities, gays or anyone not deemed to be a true believer is brutally subjugated. The struggle against this fanaticism does not pit faith against faith nor civilization against civilization.

It pits civilization against barbarism, the 21st century against the 9th century, those who sanctify life against those who glorify death.

The primitivism of the 9th century ought to be no match for the progress of the 21st century. The allure of freedom, the power of technology, the reach of communications should surely win the day.   Ultimately, the past cannot triumph over the future. And the future offers all nations magnificent bounties of hope.  The pace of progress is growing exponentially.

It took us centuries to get from the printing press to the telephone, decades to get from the telephone to the personal computer, and only a few years to get from the personal computer to the internet.

What seemed impossible a few years ago is already outdated, and we can scarcely fathom the changes that are yet to come. We will crack the genetic code. We will cure the incurable. We will lengthen our lives. We will find a cheap alternative to fossil fuels and clean up the planet.

I am proud that my country Israel is at the forefront of these advances – by leading innovations in science and technology, medicine and biology, agriculture and water, energy and the environment. These innovations the world over offer humanity a sunlit future of unimagined promise.

But if the most primitive fanaticism can acquire the most deadly weapons, the march of history could be reversed for a time. And like the belated victory over the Nazis, the forces of progress and freedom will prevail only after an horrific toll of blood and fortune has been exacted from mankind. That is why the greatest threat facing the world today is the marriage between religious fanaticism and the weapons of mass destruction.

The most urgent challenge facing this body is to prevent the tyrants of Tehran from acquiring nuclear weapons. Are the member states of the United Nations up to that challenge? Will the international community confront a despotism that terrorizes its own people as they bravely stand up for freedom?

Will it take action against the dictators who stole an election in broad daylight and gunned down Iranian protesters who died in the streets choking in their own blood? Will the international community thwart the world’s most pernicious sponsors and practitioners of terrorism?

Above all, will the international community stop the terrorist regime of Iran from developing atomic weapons, thereby endangering the peace of the entire world?

The people of Iran are courageously standing up to this regime. People of goodwill around the world stand with them, as do the thousands who have been protesting outside this hall. Will the United Nations stand by their side?

Ladies and Gentlemen,

The jury is still out on the United Nations, and recent signs are not encouraging. Rather than condemning the terrorists and their Iranian patrons, some here have condemned their victims. That is exactly what a recent UN report on Gaza did, falsely equating the terrorists with those they targeted.

For eight long years, Hamas fired from Gaza thousands of missiles, mortars and rockets on nearby Israeli cities. Year after year, as these missiles were deliberately hurled at our civilians, not a single UN resolution was passed condemning those criminal attacks. We heard nothing – absolutely nothing – from the UN Human Rights Council, a misnamed institution if there ever was one.

In 2005, hoping to advance peace, Israel unilaterally withdrew from every inch of Gaza. It dismantled 21 settlements and uprooted over 8,000 Israelis. We didn’t get peace. Instead we got an Iranian backed terror base fifty miles from Tel Aviv.  Life in Israeli towns and cities next to Gaza became a nightmare. You see, the Hamas rocket attacks not only continued, they increased tenfold. Again, the UN was silent.

Finally, after eight years of this unremitting assault, Israel was finally forced to respond. But how should we have responded? Well, there is only one example in history of thousands of rockets being fired on a country’s civilian population. It happened when the Nazis rocketed British cities during World War II. During that war, the allies leveled German cities, causing hundreds of thousands of casualties.  Israel chose to respond differently. Faced with an enemy committing a double war crime of firing on civilians while hiding behind civilians – Israel sought to conduct surgical strikes against the rocket launchers.

That was no easy task because the terrorists were firing missiles from homes and schools, using mosques as weapons depots and ferrying explosives in ambulances. Israel, by contrast, tried to minimize casualties by urging Palestinian civilians to vacate the targeted areas.

We dropped countless flyers over their homes, sent thousands of text messages and called thousands of cell phones asking people to leave. Never has a country gone to such extraordinary lengths to remove the enemy’s civilian population from harm’s way.

Yet faced with such a clear case of aggressor and victim, who did the UN Human Rights Council decide to condemn? Israel. A democracy legitimately defending itself against terror is morally hanged, drawn and quartered, and given an unfair trial to boot.

By these twisted standards, the UN Human Rights Council would have dragged Roosevelt and Churchill to the dock as war criminals. What a perversion of truth. What a perversion of justice.

Delegates of the United Nations,

Will you accept this farce?

Because if you do, the United Nations would revert to its darkest days, when the worst violators of human rights sat in judgment against the law-abiding democracies, when Zionism was equated with racism and when an automatic majority could declare that the earth is flat.

If this body does not reject this report, it would send a message to terrorists everywhere: Terror pays; if you launch your attacks from densely populated areas, you will win immunity. And in condemning Israel, this body would also deal a mortal blow to peace. Here’s why.

When Israel left Gaza, many hoped that the missile attacks would stop. Others believed that at the very least, Israel would have international legitimacy to exercise its right of self-defense. What legitimacy?  What self-defense?

The same UN that cheered Israel as it left Gaza and promised to back our right of self-defense now accuses us –my people, my country – of war crimes?  And for what?  For acting responsibly in self-defense. What a travesty!

Israel justly defended itself against terror. This biased and unjust report is a clear-cut test for all governments. Will you stand with Israel or will you stand with the terrorists?

We must know the answer to that question now. Now and not later. Because if Israel is again asked to take more risks for peace, we must know today that you will stand with us tomorrow. Only if we have the confidence that we can defend ourselves can we take further risks for peace.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

All of Israel wants peace.

Any time an Arab leader genuinely wanted peace with us, we made peace. We made peace with Egypt led by Anwar Sadat. We made peace with Jordan led by King Hussein. And if the Palestinians truly want peace, I and my government, and the people of Israel, will make peace. But we want a genuine peace, a defensible peace, a permanent peace. In 1947, this body voted to establish two states for two peoples – a Jewish state and an Arab state. The Jews accepted that resolution. The Arabs rejected it.

We ask the Palestinians to finally do what they have refused to do for 62 years: Say yes to a Jewish state. Just as we are asked to recognize a nation-state for the Palestinian people, the Palestinians must be asked to recognize the nation state of the Jewish people. The Jewish people are not foreign conquerors in the Land of Israel. This is the land of our forefathers.

Inscribed on the walls outside this building is the great Biblical vision of peace: “Nation shall not lift up sword against nation. They shall learn war no more.” These words were spoken by the Jewish prophet Isaiah 2,800 years ago as he walked in my country, in my city, in the hills of Judea and in the streets of Jerusalem.

We are not strangers to this land. It is our homeland. As deeply connected as we are to this land, we recognize that the Palestinians also live there and want a home of their own. We want to live side by side with them, two free peoples living in peace, prosperity and dignity.

But we must have security. The Palestinians should have all the powers to govern themselves except those handful of powers that could endanger Israel.

That is why a Palestinian state must be effectively demilitarized.  We don’t want another Gaza, another Iranian backed terror base abutting Jerusalem and perched on the hills a few kilometers from Tel Aviv.

We want peace.

I believe such a peace can be achieved. But only if we roll back the forces of terror, led by Iran, that seek to destroy peace, eliminate Israel and overthrow the world order. The question facing the international community is whether it is prepared to confront those forces or accommodate them.

Over seventy years ago, Winston Churchill lamented what he called the “confirmed unteachability of mankind,” the unfortunate habit of civilized societies to sleep until danger nearly overtakes them.

Churchill bemoaned what he called the “want of foresight, the unwillingness to act when action will be simple and effective, the lack of clear thinking, the confusion of counsel until emergency comes, until self-preservation strikes its jarring gong.”

I speak here today in the hope that Churchill’s assessment of the “unteachibility of mankind” is for once proven wrong.

I speak here today in the hope that we can learn from history — that we can prevent danger in time.

In the spirit of the timeless words spoken to Joshua over 3,000 years ago, let us be strong and of good courage. Let us confront this peril, secure our future and, God willing, forge an enduring peace for generations to come.

Okay, so I made a play of words, but I must explain that play on words before people take out of context what I have written. The Yiddish word “plotz” has several meanings, one of which means “aggravation.” It is equivalent to someone saying that they were so aggravated that they had a cow, or a conniption fit or something of the like. Plotz sounds like “plots” of which we all know the meaning; like a conspiracy or something akin to that. So, in essence, the title reads, “Is being a Zionist Kosher? Let us not have a cow or subscribe to conspiracy theories (plots).”

For those who might not know what “Kosher” means here is a little primer. Kosher means “clean and acceptable.” In the Bible it is the world that is used when Yahweh describes the condition of the animals that He would accept for the atoning sacrifice for sin. In essence, it means without spot or wrinkle. Yeshua was Kosher during His time on Earth; meaning that He was sinless and perfect. So what we mean by our title is, is being a Zionist something that Yahweh would find acceptable and in His Will.

Having been in ministry for quite a few years I have seen my fair share of urban legends, falsehoods and rumors run through the mill. With the breakdown of our society and the Judeo/Christian ethic that held it together for so many years, comes a very complicated and dangerous blame game. We’ve seen a complete flip flop in thinking; moving from sane thought to insane thought that our forefathers would have never believed possible. Races blame each other for the ills of society and political faction do the same. When our society wasn’t so warped we saw that the problem with our society’s ills was that each person was a fallen person and that sin was the culprit; working in our hearts and manifesting in our ill behaviors. In a sort of way, sin united us and our realization that we needed a pardon from that sin united us even more.

Today however, people deny sin and the penalty thereof even though that penalty manifest itself like a gazillion candlepower neon sign that nearly blinds us. The vast majority of society trudges on, blaming factions of society for the ills of society when in fact every person is somewhat just as guilty as the next and on and on. While most peoples have been the subject of scorn and/or persecution, none has seen more tsuris (Yiddish for sorrow) than the Jewish people. From the time that Jacob (later called Israel) formed his family of twelve sons there has always seemed to be a person, a people or a nation that has persecuted the Jewish people.

About a year ago Yahweh led Jim Wilhelmsen and my wife and I to start a ministry titled “Remnant Call.” The purpose of this ministry is to bring believers in Yeshua together in a chat room forum where we can fellowship and learn. Neither of us have funds available which would enable us to have a private forum, so we had to opt for an open forum. This means that anyone with a PalTalk account can come into our room. We have been quite tolerant, allowing anyone to stay as long as they abide by our rules and don’t cause trouble. We get a variety of people and some of them lack social skills and sooner or later we end up banning them from the room.

The two groups that cause us the most grief are the Judaizers and those who blame the Jews for everything evil in the world. The purpose of this article isn’t to address the gripes of the Judaizers. That will someday be covered in another article. The purpose of this article is to address those who group all Jews into a group that is called “Zionists.” We have been around to realize that when people hate other people there tends to be some sort of perversion of facts that either leads to the hate, or adds fuel to a smoldering hatred that exists in that person already. A brief look at the history of mankind shows what hate really does. Yeshua used a metaphor where he likened sin to a little bit of yeast taking over a whole loaf of dough. Since hatred is a sin, this metaphor works well to explain how it takes over a person. If anyone lets a little hatred into their heart, and they don’t deal with it drastically, it will grow out of control; much like a spark from a lawn mower can start a devastating forest fire.

The word “Zionist” seems to play into a lot of discussions these days. As I mentioned we see it come up a lot in our chat room; but it is found many times in various places on the internet as well as on radio talk shows and in everyday conversation amongst friends and enemies. Sadly, it can even be heard in a negative manner in some churches; especially in churches where “replacement theology,” is accepted as valid doctrine. Replacement theology says, in a nutshell, that Yahweh has written off Israel forever and that the Church replaces Israel as heirs of all of the promises that Yahweh made to the physical descendants of Jacob. Nothing can be farther from the truth and we have addressed that issue in several articles on this website, The Delusion Resistance.

Since we’ve noted that hatred is always based on a perversion of a truth; and if hatred of Jewish people is based on Zionism; then we need to look at the true meaning of what Zionism is. A good and factual definition of Zionism is found on the Wikipedia Encyclopedia found on the internet. The definition and history of Zionism is:

Zionism (Hebrew: ציונות‎, Tsiyonut) is the international political movement that originally supported the reestablishment of a homeland for the Jewish people in Palestine. The area was the Jewish Biblical homeland, called the Land of Israel (Hebrew: Eretz Yisra’el). Since the creation of Israel, the Zionist movement continues primarily as support for the modern state of Israel. Zionism is based on the foundation of historical ties and religious traditions linking the Jewish people to the Land of Israel, where the concept of Jewish nationhood first evolved somewhere between 1200 BCE and the late Second Temple era (i.e. up to 70 CE). Two millennia after the Jewish diaspora, the modern Zionist movement, beginning in the late 19th century, was mainly founded by secular Jews, largely as a response by European Jewry to antisemitism across Europe, especially in Russia. The re-creation of a Jewish national homeland was also strongly advocated by American scholars, such as Louis Brandeis, as a solution to this “Jewish problem” and a way to “revive the Jewish spirit.”

It is a type of the broader phenomenon of modern nationalism. Initially one of several Jewish political movements offering alternative responses to assimilation and the position of Jews in Europe, Zionism grew rapidly and after the Holocaust became the dominant power among Jewish political movements.

The political movement was formally established by the Austro-Hungarian journalist Theodor Herzl in the late 19th century following the publication of his book Der Judenstaat. The movement seeks to encourage Jewish migration to the “Land of Israel” and was eventually successful in establishing Israel in 1948, as the homeland for the Jewish people. Its proponents regard its aim as self-determination for the Jewish people. The proportion of world Jewry living in Israel has steadily grown since the movement came into existence. Today roughly 40% of the world’s Jews live in Israel. A similar number live in the United States. [Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zionism]

So as we can see from the definition and history above, Zionism came in two parts; both related to each other. At first it was the mechanism by which Jews (and some Christians), before the Holocaust, sought to find a homeland in Israel for the Jewish people. After the Holocaust, and the birth of the Nation of Israel, it was the mechanism that supported Israel and tried to convince Jews to move out of the Gentile nations, and into our own nation. This is the true meaning of Zionism. If you are a Christian and you believe in Israel as a home for Jewish people, then you are a Zionist; plain and simple. There are people of every race, creed and color who agree with the tenants of this movement, and they too are Zionists.

We talked earlier that people with hate in their hearts tend to pervert the truth. We saw this during the rise and the power of the Third Reich in Europe. Hitler, Germany and many in Europe bought into the lie that Aryans were the master race and that all other races were tainted with simian (apelike) genetics. This dehumanized just about anyone who wasn’t considered Aryan by the Nazis. When one group of people considers another group of people to be less than human it makes it much easier to justify the maltreatment or extermination of that group of people. To them, gassing and incinerating people that they considered undesirable is no different than catching dogs and cats on the street and euthanizing them. That philosophy has existed in Europe for many centuries; that continent being a mass graveyard that proves this point to be correct.

We read the true meaning of Zionism; but what is the perversion that has driven so many into hatred for Jewish people. For centuries people were superstitious and they believed a lot of lies about Jewish people. One lie was that Jews would kidnap Gentile children and perform ritual sacrifice on them. If a plague or sickness would come to a village or region many times rumors would circulate that the Jews had poisoned the local drinking wells. Many such things came upon the Jewish people for most of our time of exile in the nations of the Gentiles. With the arrival of science and common sense thinking the superstitious beliefs about Jews stopped, although they still arise from time to time in backward areas. Around the turn of the 20th Century there arose a rumor that powerful Jews had banded together to take over the world and to enslave all non-Jews. The rumor circulated via a book that came to be known as “The Protocols of The Elders of Zion.” Here is a definition and history of this tool of deception and hate:

The Protocols of the (Learned) Elders of Zion (in Russian: “Протоколы Сионских мудрецов” or “Сионские Протоколы”) is one of many titles given to a text purporting to describe a plan to achieve global domination by the Jewish people. Following its first public publication in 1903 in the Russian Empire, numerous independent investigations have repeatedly proved the writing to be a hoax; notably, a series of articles printed in The Times in 1921 revealed that much of the material was directly plagiarized from earlier works of political satire unrelated to Jews. Nevertheless, some people continue to view it as factual, especially in parts of the world where anti-Semitism, anti-Judaism, or anti-Zionism are widespread. It is frequently quoted and reprinted by anti-Semites, and is sometimes used as evidence of Jewish conspiracy, especially in the Middle East.

The Protocols are widely considered the beginning of contemporary conspiracy theory literature, and take the form of an instruction manual to a new member of the “Elders,” describing how they will run the world through control of the media and finance, replacing the traditional social order with one based on mass manipulation. The work was popularized by those opposed to the Russian revolutionary movement, and was disseminated further after the Russian Revolution of 1905, but achieved worldwide popularity after the 1917 Bolshevik October Revolution, when the idea that Bolshevism was a Jewish conspiracy for world domination sparked far-ranging interest in the Protocols. It was widely circulated in the West in the 1920s and 1930s, and while continued usage of the Protocols as a propaganda tool substantially diminished with the defeat of the Nazis in World War II, it still has currency in the arsenal of contemporary anti-Semitism. [Wikipedia Encyclopedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Protocols_of_the_Elders_of_Zion]

By the definition written above we can see that some political satyre written about others was perverted and change to look like it talked about the evils of Jewish people. We’ve seen this in our own day. Here in the United States we constantly hear about how history is being rewritten. For instance, the Founding Fathers of our nation; once revered as patriots and men with strong moral and ethical attributes (which they really possessed) are now seen as evil white people that owned slaves (and allegedly mistreated them), that were not really Christians, but were deists and/or members of the Masonic Order; and were conspirators that embarked on forming a Luciferic empire to take over the world. Interestingly enough, two of the planks of the Communist plan to change a society is to change the history and debase the memory of the founders of the nation. Interesting too is that the “Protocols” document came from Russia, was revered in Nazi Germany and is preached in the Middle East (required reading in some Muslim schools in Middle East), these are the three areas of the world where there has been vehement hatred and persecution of Jewish people. Yeshua Ha Mashiach (Jesus Christ) said something that applies aptly to this work of hatred and deceit:

“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you will know them. Matthew 7:15-20

Some might argue that the scripture above is talking about prophets that bring false reports and that “Protocols” is not a prophetic work. We strongly disagree with that assertion. A prophet is a messenger; therefore a false prophet is a messenger that brings corrupt messages. In order for a message to be corrupt it has to be a corruption of a genuine message. That brings us to the two definitions that we have above. The true meaning of a Zionist is a person who supports Israel and supports the immigration of Jews to Israel. The false message is that Jewish bankers and all Jews are involved in a worldwide conspiracy to bring about Jewish domination of the world. This in effect is a breaking of the Ninth Commandment which says:

Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour. Exodus 20:16

Yahweh feels so strong about things like the “Protocols,” and people who perpetuate its lies, that He had Solomon pen His distaste for falsehood; so much so that He calls these things an abomination, as we see in the next scripture:

A worthless person, a wicked man, Walks with a perverse mouth; He winks with his eyes, He shuffles his feet, He points with his fingers; Perversity is in his heart, He devises evil continually, He sows discord. Therefore his calamity shall come suddenly; Suddenly he shall be broken without remedy. These six things the LORD hates, Yes, seven are an abomination to Him: A proud look, A lying tongue, Hands that shed innocent blood, A heart that devises wicked plans, Feet that are swift in running to evil, A false witness who speaks lies, And one who sows discord among brethren. Proverbs 6:12-19

All of the words underlined above are either attributes of the preachers of “Protocols,” and/or are descriptions of their actions and intent when it comes to their preaching or teaching of that demonic gospel. Sadly, most of those preachers and teachers can’t see the error of their ways, or they refuse to listen to their conscience, which becomes hardened after years of neglect. Even more sad is the payment that they will receive from Yahweh in regard to their hatred and malevolence. They’ll receive sudden calamity and will be broken without remedy. In other words, they will be so debase that they cannot or will not be able to come to repentance and upon their death they will go directly to torments, awaiting the second death; eternal separation from Yahweh and His Love.

I do not state that there aren’t rich Jews that are involved in high level banking that are involved in a conspiracy to take over the financial world and they just might be bent on dominating the financial markets. But there are people who aren’t Jewish who are bent on the same goal. The thing to realize here is that they have very little if any affiliation with the Nation of Israel or the vast majority of Jewish people worldwide. If there are a few Germans, Italians, Japanese and Chinese who are also trying to corner the financial markets and take them over, does that mean that all peoples of those lands are corrupt like them; certainly not and I think all would agree with that. The same rules should be applied to the Jewish people, don’t you think?

The same sort of accusations have been made for the past two millennia in regard to the crucifixion of Yeshua Ha Mashiach. One of the favorite mantras of the accusers of Jewish people is to claim that Jews are “Christ Killers.” If anyone had done any serious Bible study on the matter they will always come to the realization that first, Yeshua said that He was laying down his life:

“Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This command I have received from My Father.” John 10:17-18

Yet another fact that people who call Jews “Christ Killers” fail to see is that most of the harm done to Yeshua was done by the Romans. They scourged him with the flagrum, beat him, tore the hair from his face, nailed him to the cross and drove the spear into his side. Finally, if they wanted to press the issue still farther, and insist that the Jewish people are Christ Killers, then they should thank the Jewish people because it is the death of Yeshua that provides the sacrifice of blood that takes away the sins of everyone who accepts the sacrifice of Yeshua as their atonement. Without the death and resurrection of Yeshua there would be no way for mankind to be reconciled to Yahweh and no hope of resurrection of the believer at the end of days. The Jewish involvement in the crucifixion brought forgiveness to the descendants of Jacob and the Roman involvement brought forgiveness to the gentile world. Yahweh, in His fairness to all of mankind made sure that all of those who are descendants of Adam will have the chance for redemption, if they choose the redeemer.

Just like today’s scenario, where the act of a handful of Jewish bankers is assigned to the whole of Jewry, so did the acts of a few Jewish religious leaders back in the time of Yeshua put a stigma on all Jews. It was the Jewish leaders who handed Yeshua over to the Romans. If one would research the Jewish bankers of today, they will find that although they might be of Hebraic ancestry, they have little of nothing to do with ninety nine percent of Jews. All of them are secular and most of them have a rabid distaste of their Jewish brethren. They deny Yahweh, His laws and precepts and if they were living during the time of Moses, they would have been in the company of those who died during the rebellion of  Korah, Dathan and Abiram, when the land opened up and swallowed the opponents of Moshe and Yahweh during the rebellion at the foot of Mount Sinai.

This blame game; where the majority are blamed for the sins of the few, is not a new thing. For centuries the Roman Catholic Church and the Orthodox Church committed or condoned atrocities that brings much shame on the name of Yeshua in the eyes of the world. For the past two thousand years unbelievers and/or pagans in sheep’s clothing have been the authors and perpetrators of Inquisitions, pogroms, purgings and exiles on the Jewish people. The sad thing about all of that is that these things are often labeled as “Christian” acts. Imagine if you will that I decide that it is cool to be like the Armenian people. I start to dress like an Armenian, furnish my home with traditional Armenian furniture and even learn how to speak Armenian. People start to think that I am Armenian because of all of my actions, but in reality I am not. So one day I decide that I want to rob two or three banks in my town and one of my neighbors is in one of the banks and recognizes me. They spread the word around the neighborhood of what I have done. He or she says that the Armenian guy robbed the bank. Now because Armenians aren’t too well known in our part of the country and even though I’m not Armenian, the first inclination of most of my neighbors is to think that most Armenians are thieves and upstarts.

The story that I just told, although fictional is pretty typical of the way that people think. If you watch the History Channel or Discovery Channel and you see a documentary of church history it will have a lot of material of the misdeeds of the Roman Catholic Church, but they will always say that it is a history of the “Christian Church.” The R.C. Church, although it wears the clothes of “Christianity,” really had very little in common with Biblical Christianity. It has about as much similarity with the First Century Church as a pepperoni pizza has with a Polish Cookbook. We don’t assert that true believers in Yeshua were not guilty in some of these atrocities, and we feel sorry about the ignorant acts committed by Christians apart from the RC Church; but the fact is that the majority of persecutions of Jews and other peoples in the name of Yeshua were not committed by true believers in Yeshua, but by wolves in sheep’s clothing. We must remember also that the true believers in Yeshua were also persecuted by the RC Church; upwards of seventy million lost their lives to that juggernaut and all things considered, Christians have suffered much worse at the hands of Roman Catholicism than any other group.

Part of my ancestry is Italian; my surname bears out that fact. I spent the first fifteen years of my life in New Jersey, and most of that was in Northern New Jersey; close to New York City. Most of those reading this article know that New Jersey has a bad reputation for being the Mafia capital of the United States. This knowledge causes people to cast dispersion on us. For instance, when I was a young child my parents would rent a bungalow down by the shore in New Jersey. Almost any family that could afford such a thing rented a bungalow for a week or so down near the shore. At one point my parents were told that there was a nice bungalow available for rent. Friends of the family told us about this small home just a block away from the ocean. The was a glitch however; the owner of the home didn’t rent to Italians because of negative preconceptions that he had of all Italians based on what he had either heard, or experienced himself by way of someone of Italian heritage he had met before. The only way we were able to rent the bungalow was to have my maternal grandmother sign the rental papers; she had a German surname from a previous marriage.

In the year 1974 my dad moved he and I out to California; to a smaller town at the edge of the Sacramento Valley. I attended high school in that town and I was constantly besieged by people who wanted to know if my family had Mafia connections. After people got to know me they dismissed such notions. The notion that all Italians from New Jersey have Mob connections has dogged me all of these years. One boss even went so far as to ask me if I could hire someone to break an employee’s legs because she was giving him a lot of grief and since she was a minority woman it would be nearly impossible to dismiss her from her position at the company. I never knew if he as joking around or was serious, but I gave him my well known disclaimer, telling him that if I had mob connections I would be making more money than he was paying me. The sad thing, and what almost all humans are guilty of, is that they judge the a group by what a minority of a group does. The framers of the United States Constitution put into effect that when it comes to law, all people are innocent until proven guilty. Ever wonder why they did that? Well, it is because it is human nature to judge a person before they know the facts about the case. People tend to harbor a “shoot first and ask questions later,” attitude. It is really unfortunate that people never learn the correct way until they are the ones looking at the smoking end of a gun.

Believing that all Jews are set on world domination is akin to thinking that all Irish people are drunken louts, and that all Scottish people are cheap, or that all Germans are stubborn or that all the French are arrogant. It is no different than thinking that all Chinese are Maoists, or that all Russians are Bolsheviks or that all Americans are liberals. It is no different than the multitude of stupid little labels that people place on other people to make themselves feel more important than the others, or make themselves seem more human than every other nationality, race or creed.

No one can ever say that each nation, each people and each religion hasn’t suffered to some degree for who they are and what they believe. The history of Ireland and Great Britain is rife with Catholics and Christians spilling each other’s blood. The same can be said for the rest of Europe. Some people might feel that I rail on the Catholics too much but one must understand that I rail against the organization, not the congregants (lay people) of the RC Church, who for the most part are wonderful people unless they act unrighteously under the edicts of the laity of the church. My wife was born into a religious Catholic family in Mexico. Most of her family is still strong in the Catholic faith, but they are some of the most wonderful people I have ever met. Some Catholics in Mexico aren’t that nice however, and at the urging of the RC Church in Mexico they commit atrocities.

One recent event tells this story. We got an e-mail from a brother in the Mexican State of Oaxaca (pronounced wa-hah-ka). In the letter our Christian brother told us of an account where the Catholic hierarchy of his town gave charge to the church members that they should persecute the Christians that we would call Protestants. Here’s how it works. Every town has a main church and that church has a saint that they revere. Times are set aside to have a fiesta in honor of that saint and the celebratory way is enhanced with alcohol. The maker of the alcohol is very powerful in the town and makes a lot of money from the purchase of strong drink. When a person becomes reborn via the Ruach Ha Kodesh (Holy Spirit) their tendency is to stop drinking because they see it for the sin that it is. Of course Christians (Christiano’s) are inclined to preach to the unsaved relatives and friends which leads to salvation for those people and they stop drinking too. This puts a dent in the pocketbook of the powerful liquor baron who donates quite heavily to the local RC Church that starts to feel the money pinch too. So then a message or series of messages is preached in the RC Church where the congregants are told that the converts to Christianity are hurting the Church upon which time the RC Church faithful, who follow the priests almost to the point of idolatry go out and harass the Christians, demanding that they renounce their faith in Yeshua and in many instances they kill the Christiano’s when they refuse to recant their faith. The local police do nothing because they prosper from the liquor baron’s money and they’re deeply Catholic too so they obey the wishes of the RC Church in the town. Yes, folks, this is happening on the other side of our southern border, but we rarely if ever hear about it. The brother that wrote the e-mail managed to flee the village during the carnage so that he could get word out to the Christian Church worldwide. We haven’t heard anything since the original letter.

It also cannot be denied that other nations have had periods of horrible history. Whether it be the hundreds of millions that the Maoists killed in China or the tens of millions that Stalin killed in the Soviet Union; or the Killing Fields of Cambodia’s Pol-Pot Regime we cannot even imagine what the total count will be when all things are finished on the last day. It cannot be denied however that the Jewish people have been the most dogged and the most harassed and the most murdered people in the history of mankind. The Jewish people have always been a small remnant of mankind. Even in our current day, there are only around thirteen million Jewish people living on Planet Earth. That is less than 0.002 percent of the whole population of the world. In 1939 there were 18 million Jews worldwide. After the holocaust there was only 11 million. That means that 1/3 of the entire Jewish population was murdered. To put that into our modern perspective, if the same percentage of people in the United States were exterminated (33.3 percent) then we would lose about 110 million people. In the same scenario, China would lose 429 million people, India would lose 379.5 million people and on a smaller scale that might be more familiar to many reading this; the New York metropolitan area would lose almost 6.3 million people.

However, when you look at the Jewish people it cannot be denied that they have been singled out many times in history to be the scapegoat of the ills of nations, kingdoms and in current times, the entire world. While they have been, as we saw above, called Christ killers one could rightly look at the flipside of the coin to see that there are more insidious forces perpetuating these events. When we were kids in school, or amongst a group of adults and we did something wrong there was always an adult that asked, “okay, who did that?” As a child, born under original sin it was always the norm to think of ways to get our of trouble. The natural thing was to point at another kid or to pull an adult aside and blame him or her, even if it was us that committed the infraction. So how does this play into our whole point? It is simple. Think of the worse entity you can possibly think of, and with most of us Lucifer (Satan) comes into our thoughts immediately. He is the most evil because he has proven that time and time again throughout history. But, what if he wants to avoid the blame and he needs another people to take the blame; blame it on the Jews of course. We know that Yahweh knows Satan’s method of operation and that he is evil, so who is Satan trying to convince? Well, he wants to convince mankind that one group of mankind is trouble and that they are the source of all evil in the world. The trouble with this is that mankind falls for it each and every time. They’ll persecute the Jewish people, then they have a short period of mourning and a generation or so later the same stupid thing happens again.

The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun. Is there any thing whereof it may be said, See, this is new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us. There is no remembrance of former things; neither shall there be any remembrance of things that are to come with those that shall come after. Ecclesiastes 1:9-11

Now we’ve seen where anti-Jewish thought comes from, both it’s original author and its human perpetrators, let’s look to see if being a TRUE Zionist is kosher and biblical. If people believe as we do, that the Bible is the Word of Elohim, then the words and the ideals within its pages are the express will of El Shaddai.

And I will cause the captives of Judah and the captives of Israel to return, and will rebuild those places as at the first. I will cleanse them from all their iniquity by which they have sinned against Me, and I will pardon all their iniquities by which they have sinned and by which they have transgressed against Me. Then it shall be to Me a name of joy, a praise, and an honor before all nations of the earth, who shall hear all the good that I do to them; they shall fear and tremble for all the goodness and all the prosperity that I provide for it.’  Jeremiah 33:7-9

“But do not fear, O My servant Jacob, And do not be dismayed, O Israel! For behold, I will save you from afar, And your offspring from the land of their captivity; Jacob shall return, have rest and be at ease; No one shall make him afraid. Do not fear, O Jacob My servant,” says the LORD, “ For I am with you; For I will make a complete end of all the nations To which I have driven you, But I will not make a complete end of you. I will rightly correct you, For I will not leave you wholly unpunished.” Jeremiah 46:27-28

And again:

Therefore say, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “Although I have cast them far off among the Gentiles, and although I have scattered them among the countries, yet I shall be a little sanctuary for them in the countries where they have gone.”’ Therefore say, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “I will gather you from the peoples, assemble you from the countries where you have been scattered, and I will give you the land of Israel.”’ Ezekiel 11:16-17

In the three scriptures above we see that Yahweh made specific plans to bring all of Israel back to the land that He promised to give to Abraham, Yitzak and Ya’akov. These are his plans and not the plans of mere men. The scriptures above are just three of many, many scriptures citing the fact that Yahweh did indeed make plans way ahead of time to return the sons of Ya’akov back to their land. So in essence, this makes Yahweh the original Zionist and the founder of Zionism. For those who slam Zionism and ascribe it to being a conspiracy of rich Jewish bankers this becomes quite a problem because they in effect place Yahweh into that same cabal.

Anyone who has rejected Moses’ law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace? For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. And again, “The LORD will judge His people.” It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Hebrews 10:28-31

In Jeremiah, chapter 23 we find scripture that is similar to the ones above, but we also have mention of a specific person who will save Israel and Judah, and will call them back to the Eretz Israel. We know that this person is Yeshua Ha Mashiach (Jesus Christ) and we know that from the following passages, that now only will he come back to bring justice to the world, but he will come to bring back ALL of Israel and Judah to their ancestral homeland, that was promised to Abraham, Yitzak and Ya’acov.

Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth. In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS. Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that they shall no more say, The LORD liveth, which brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt; But, The LORD liveth, which brought up and which led the seed of the house of Israel out of the north country, and from all countries whither I had driven them; and they shall dwell in their own land. Jeremiah 23:5-8

As we mentioned earlier, Yahweh was the first Zionist, and not only that, He is the most zealous Zionist that has ever existed. He made many promises to save all of Israel and to deliver them from their adversaries. It would therefore be only natural for Jews, and all descendants of Yitzak and Ya’acov to be the same way, simply because it is their inheritance. It is also natural that all believers in Yeshua who love Him would be the same way; partly because we have been grafted into the Jewish tree and partly because we want to mimic Yahweh because we love Him and because wanting His will is an act of righteousness.

So to answer the question we asked in our title, “Is it Kosher to be a Zionist,” is a resounding “YES.” There is only one kind of Zionist; that being a person who desires that the physical descendants of Ya’acov possess the land that they have been promised by Yahweh for millennia. We can sum it up with one phrase that nails shut the coffin of the adversaries of Yahweh; “If Yahweh said it, I believe it, that settles it.” If you are such a person, then you are automatically blessed by Yahweh Yeshua. If, after reading what has been presented in this article you still persist in your pride and arrogance, and you still believe that the Jews are all conspirators, then perhaps you’re born to perdition. Jesus told his disciples that if someone was not for Him, they were against Him. Since His express will is for all of Israel to be in their God Given Land, then we belong there. If you think otherwise, then you have to agree that you are working for Yeshua’s adversary, namely Satan. Might we suggest that you ask Yahweh to take the blinders off of your eyes so that you can see the truth and so that you can repent of your rebellion. The ball is in your court now and your eternal state depends on what you do with this information. We pray that you make the right choice.

“Up, up! Flee from the land of the north,” says the LORD; “for I have spread you abroad like the four winds of heaven,” says the LORD. “Up, Zion! Escape, you who dwell with the daughter of Babylon.” For thus says the LORD of hosts: “He sent Me after glory, to the nations which plunder you; for he who touches you touches the apple of His eye. For surely I will shake My hand against them, and they shall become spoil for their servants. Then you will know that the LORD of hosts has sent Me. “Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion! For behold, I am coming and I will dwell in your midst,” says the LORD. “Many nations shall be joined to the LORD in that day, and they shall become My people. And I will dwell in your midst. Then you will know that the LORD of hosts has sent Me to you. And the LORD will take possession of Judah as His inheritance in the Holy Land, and will again choose Jerusalem. Be silent, all flesh, before the LORD, for He is aroused from His holy habitation!” Zechariah 2:6-13

This is why I love being a Jew: Written by Dan Sporn from Israel :

Our condition has never been better than it is now! Only the television and the media make people think that the end of the world is near. Only 65 years ago, Jews were brought to death like sheep to slaughter. NO country, NO army. Only 60 years ago, seven Arab countries declared war on little Israel, the Jewish state, just a few hours after it was established.

We were 650,000 Jews against the rest of the Arab world. No I.D.F. (Israeli Defense Forces) or Air Force. We were only a small group of stubborn people with nowhere to go.

Remember : Lebanon , Syria , Iraq , Jordan , Egypt , Libya , and Saudi Arabia, they all attacked at once. The state that the United Nations “gave” us was 65% desert. We started it from zero.

Only 41 years ago, we fought three of the strongest countries in the Middle East , and we crushed them in the Six Day War.

Over the years we fought different coalitions of Arab countries with modern armies and huge amounts of Russian-Soviet ammunition, and we still won.

Today we have a beautiful country, powerful army, strong air force, and a thriving high tech industry. Intel, Microsoft, and I.B.M. all develop their business here.

Our doctors have won important prizes in the medical development field. We turn desert into prosperous land. We sell oranges, flowers, and vegetables around the world.

We launched our own satellite! Three satellites at once! We are in good company; together with the USA (280 million residents), Russia (220 million residents), China (1.3 billion residents) and Europe (France, England and Germany – 35 million residents), we are one of the only countries in the world that have launched something into space!

Israel today is among the few powerful countries that have nuclear technology & capabilities (we will never admit it, but everyone knows).

To think that only 65 years ago we were disgraced and hopeless. We crawled out form the burning crematoriums of Europe, we won in all our wars. With little bit of nothing and we built us an empire from nothing.

Who are Khaled Mashal (leader of Hamas) or Hass an Nasrallah (leader of Hezbollah) try and frighten us? They are amusing us.

As we celebrate our independence, let’s not forget what this  is all about; we overcame everything:

  • We overcame the Greeks
  • We overcame the Romans
  • We overcame the Spanish Inquisition
  • We overcame the Russians pogroms
  • We overcame Hitler, we overcame Germany, we overcame the Holocaust
  • We overcame the armies of seven countries

Relax chevray (friends), we will overcome our current enemies.

Never mind where you look in human history. Think about it, the Jewish nation, our condition has never been better than now. So let’s lift our heads up and remember:

Never mind which country or culture tries to harm us or erase us from the world. We will still exist and persevere.

Egypt? Anyone know where the Egyptian empire disappeared to? The Greeks? Alexander Macedon? The Romans? Is anyone speaking Latin today? The third Reich? Did anyone hear news from them lately?

And look at us, the Bible nation – from slavery in Egypt, we are still here, still speaking the same language. Exactly here, exactly now.

Maybe The Arabs don’t know it yet, but we are an eternal nation. All the time that we will keep our identity, we will stay eternal.

So, sorry that we are not worrying, complaining, crying, or fearing. Business here is beseder (fine). It can definitely be much better, but it is still fine. Don’t pay attention to the nonsense in the media, they will not tell you about our festivals here in Israel or about the people that continue living, going out, meeting friends.
Yes, sometimes morale is down, so what? This is only because we are mourning the dead while they are celebrating spilled blood. And this is the reason we will win after all.

Please feel free to send the link of this page to all of your friends, Jew and gentile everywhere in the world. You are all part of our force to keep our existence.

This webpage may help some of us lift our heads up and be proud to say:

Delusion Resistance Note: While the letter above was written by someone who is obviously secular in opinion, it does show the determination of the Jewish People, but more importantly, it shows the determination and the miraculous power of El Shaddai who through a mighty hand has delivered the Jewish people over the millennia and who will soon fight for Israel and ultimately come back to redeem us as a people set apart unto Himself. Baruch Ha Shem Ha Mashiach Yeshua, Baruch Ha Shem Yahweh. [Blessed be the name of our Messiah Jesus, Blessed be the Name of the Lord God of Israel!]

Here are overlooked facts in the current Middle East  situation. These were compiled by a Christian university professor.

BRIEF FACTS ON THE ISRAELI CONFLICT TODAY…. (It takes just 1.5 minutes to read !!)

It makes sense and it’s not slanted. Jew and non-Jew – it doesn’t matter.

  1. Nationhood and Jerusalem.  Israel became a nation in 1312 BCE., two thousand years before the rise of Islam.

  2. Arab refugees in Israel began identifying themselves as part of a Palestinian people in 1967, two decades after the establishment of the modern State of Israel.

  3. Since the Jewish conquest in 1272 BCE., the Jews have had dominion over the land for one thousand years with a continuous presence in the land for the past 3,300 years.

  4. The only Arab dominion since the conquest in 635 C.E. Lasted no more than 22 years.

  5. For over 3,300 years, Jerusalem has been the Jewish capital. Jerusalem has never been the capital of any Arab or Muslim entity. Even when the Jordanians occupied Jerusalem, they never sought to make it their capital, and Arab leaders did not come to visit.

  6. Jerusalem is mentioned over 700 times in Tanach, the Jewish Holy Scriptures. Jerusalem is not mentioned once in the Koran.

  7. King David founded the city of Jerusalem. Mohammed never came to Jerusalem.

  8. Jews pray facing Jerusalem. Muslims pray with their backs toward Jerusalem.

  9. Arab and Jewish Refugees: In 1948 the Arab refugees were encouraged to leave Israel by Arab leaders promising to purge the land of Jews. Sixty-eight percent left without ever seeing an Israeli soldier.

  10. The Jewish refugees were forced to flee from Arab lands due to Arab brutality, persecution and pogroms.

  11. The number of Arab refugees who left Israel in 1948 is estimated to be around 630,000. The number of Jewish refugees from Arab lands is estimated to be the same.

  12. Arab refugees were INTENTIONALLY not absorbed or integrated into the Arab lands to which they fled, despite the vast Arab territory. Out of the 100,000,000 refugees since World War II, theirs is the only refugee group in the world that has never been absorbed or integrated into their own peoples’ lands. Jewish refugees were completely absorbed into Israel, a country no larger than the state of New Jersey.

  13. The Arab – Israeli Conflict: The Arabs are represented by eight separate nations, not including the Palestinians. There is only one Jewish nation. The Arab nations initiated all five wars and lost. Israel defended itself each time and won.

  14. The P.L.O.’s Charter still calls for the destruction of the State of Israel. Israel has given the Palestinians most of the West Bank land, autonomy under the Palestinian Authority, and has supplied them.

  15. Under Jordanian rule, Jewish holy sites were desecrated and the Jews were denied access to places of worship. Under Israeli rule, all Muslim and Christian sites have been preserved and made accessible to people of all faiths.

  16. The UN. Record on Israel and the Arabs: of the 175 Security Council resolutions passed before 1990, 97 were directed against Israel.

  17. Of the 690 General Assembly resolutions voted on before 1990, 429 were directed against Israel.

  18. The U N was silent while 58 Jerusalem Synagogues were destroyed by the Jordanians.

  19. The UN was silent while the Jordanians systematically desecrated the ancient Jewish cemetery on the Mt of Olives.

  20. The U.N. Was silent while the Jordanians enforced an apartheid-like a policy of preventing Jews from visiting the Temple Mount and the Western Wall.

These are incredible times. We have to ask what our role should be. What will we tell our grandchildren we did when there was a turning point in Jewish destiny, an opportunity to make a difference?

Delusion Resistance Note: We posted this list as a countermeasure to all of the negative press and the propaganda that has unfortunately even filtered down into the Christian Church. We hope that by reading this, those who have a unfounded bias against Israel will realize that they are the good guys in this whole big mess. If after reading this you are still anti-Israel or anti-Jewish or both then that is between you and Yahweh. If you are that way then I would not want to be in your shoes on Judgment Day.

Personal Testimony of Dr. Max Wertheimer

Former Rabbi of Temple Israel

In Dayton, Ohio.

Born in Germany of orthodox Jewish parents, my earliest childhood impression was of my parents rising in the morning very early in order to spend a long time reading the Hebrew prayers. Even in the cold winter, before fires were kindled for their physical comfort, they carried on faithfully these early devotions.  Insofar as their knowledge of God was concerned, they were a devout and God-fearing couple.

From the ages of five to fifteen my training was in a Jewish school, in Orthodox Judaism.  A scholarly Hebrew instructed me in the five books of Moses.

I went to the Gymnasium for my classical training and later was apprenticed to a manufacturer, doing office work.  My associates at that time led me into the sinful pleasures of the world, and although I attended synagogue and read my Hebrew prayers on the Sabbath, I drifted from the faith of my fathers.

A parental decision to send me to America to pursue my classical education brought me to Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati, Ohio.  I graduated in 7 years, having meanwhile taken my degrees in letters and Hebrew literature, and 4 years later my Masters degree.  We studied the Old Testament, translated it from Hebrew into the vernacular, went through Jewish history and beginning to the present day, and learned the oral laws.

After finishing the rabbinical course we were publicly ordained and inducted into the rabbinical office.  My first call was to Dayton, Ohio, where I officiated as rabbi for 10 years, during which I made many friends and received many tokens of love, which I treasure highly.

In my Friday evening lectures I spoke on social, industrial and economic questions, monotheism, ethic culture, the moral systems of the Jews, etc.  In the Saturday morning addresses I took weekly sections of the Pentateuch, followed by a corresponding section of prophets.  On Sunday I taught Sunday School from eight in the morning until five in the evening, with one hour intermission for dinner.

In 1895 a series of meetings was held in the Christian Church of Dayton, with various denominational pastors giving addresses on their religion.  I stood proudly before the audience of professing Christians and told them why I was a Jew and would not believe in their Christ as my Messiah and Savior.  I gloried in Reformed Judaism that acknowledged no need of an atoning sacrifice for sin, a religion of ethics, which quieted qualms of conscience through a smug self-righteousness.  In the audience sat an humble aged woman, a devout Christian, who was deeply stirred as she listened.  “O God,” she prayed, “Bring Dr. Wertheimer to realize his utter need of that Savior he so boastingly rejects.  Bring him if necessary to the very depths in order that he may know his need of my Lord Jesus Christ.”

What unforeseen forces were brought into action of that woman’s heart-cry!  How perfectly satisfied with life I was that day: I had a young, attractive, accomplished wife, was rabbi of the B’nai Yeshorum Synagogue, had a beautiful home, a comfortable income, a place of prominence in the community, had become and honorary member of the Ministerial Association, was a member of the Present Day Club, served as chaplain in the Masonic Lodge, and was a popular speaker before women’s clubs, schools, civic organizations, etc. Had you visited my library at that time you would have found a wide range of reading. I had every book Bob Ingersoll wrote, read them, and corresponded with the author. I was an oft-invited guest speaker in every denominational church in the city.  I was satisfied with life!  My wife and I enjoyed the musical treats. We had a large home, two servants, and a beautiful baby boy and daughter, Rose.

Suddenly there came a change! My wife was taken seriously ill, and in spite of many physicians and specialists, she died, leaving me a distraught widower with two little children. After the funeral, I put Rose in the care of my mother-in-law, advertised for a house keeper for myself and boy, and found myself the most miserable of men. I could not sleep. I walked the streets, striving to forget the void, the vacancy in my heart and life. My dreams of a successful career and serene domestic life were shattered. Where was comfort to be found? The heavens were brass when I called on the God of my fathers! How could I speak, as a rabbi, words of comfort to others, when my own sorrow had brought me to despair. I investigated Spiritism, but found it utter fallacy. I attended meetings and read the literature of Theosophy and Christian Science, only to find it futile and hopeless. My experience was comparable to Job’s when he cried: “My days are swifter than a weaver’s shuttle, and are spent without hope” (Job 7:6).  The tenth year of my rabbinical office drew to its close.

I decided not to accept re-election, and resigned.  I wanted to think over things! I would study! Where is the spirit and soul of one who was such a gifted pianist, who gave charm to life, who made existence so sweet? What had become of all the faculties, the intents and purposes of that active keen mind? I turned to my Bible!

I studied about Judaism, but it answered no questions, satisfied no craving of my heart. Then I began reading the New Testament and comparing it with the Old Testament.  Many passages were read, pondered, meditated upon.  One made a definite impression: the fifty-third chapter of Isaiah, eleventh verse, last clause: “By knowledge shall My righteous servant justify many, for He shall bear their iniquities.” Here was the only mention of that phrase, “My righteous servant,” I said to myself: “Who is that righteous servant?” I argued: “Whoever that ‘righteous servant’ of Jehovah is, of one thing I am sure: he is not Israel, because the prophet declares Israel to be a sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a leprous nation.  The righteous servant of Jehovah must be One who is holy. If it isn’t Israel, who could it be?” I decided it must be Isaiah.  But in Isaiah 6 I found it could never be the prophet Isaiah for he confesses himself to be a guilty sinner and a man of unclean lips in God’s sight.

“My righteous servant.”  Who could it be? Then I began to study the context of the 53rd Chapter and in Isaiah 50:6 I found, “I gave My back to the smiters.” I pondered that: Who gave his back to the smiters? In the beginning of the chapter it says, “Thus saith Jehovah.” Jehovah is the only speaker in the chapter.  Jehovah gave his back to the smiters? Had God a back? When and why was it smitten? Who smote it? Further I read: “ Who gave his cheeks to them plucked off the hair.” And still further: “I hid not My face from shame and spitting.” What did all this mean? Who had been so abused? When? Why? Did Jehovah have all these human characteristics? I studied more and more various prophetic utterances. In Psalm 110:1 it is written: “The Lord said to my Lord, Sit Thou at My right hand until I make Thine enemies Thy footstool.”  Here was David himself, speaking of his own seed and calling Him  “Lord.”  How did He get up there?  Why didn’t God specify?  Why didn’t He speak so plainly to Israel that every Jew could understand?

In confusion I decided to begin at the first chapter of Isaiah and read the book through.  I was stopped at the ninth:  “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government shall be upon His shoulders; His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”  Here was a most incomprehensible thing!

I was faced with the doctrine of the Trinity.  We Jews have a popular monotheistic slogan:  “Sh’ma Isroel, Adonai, Eloheynu, Adonai, Echod.”  The word “echod” means one.  Upon that word the doctrine of unity of Jehovah is rooted and grounded, the entire philosophy of Judaism is based.  Taught by the rabbis for ages, that word “echod” means absolute unity.

Now I could not believe it; my teaching was wrong!

I began to study the word, and I discovered it meant, not absolute unity, but composite unity.  Let me illustrate: Adam and Eve became one flesh; the Hebrew for one flesh is bosor Echod, a composite unity.  Moses sent twelve spies into Canaan, and they returned bearing a gigantic bunch of grapes.  That cluster of grapes is called in Hebrew Eschol-Echod.  With hundreds of grapes on the stem it could not have been an absolute unity; they are called in Hebrew “one cluster.”  Composite unity.  There was an uprising of the tribe of Dan, and their carnalities disgraced Jehovah and His name and character.  The other tribes rose in rebellion and asked God which of them should go forth first to fight the Danites.  God answered: “Let the tribe of Judah go first.”  That is what I want you to see: at that time Judah was composed of 700,000 fighting men, and they “stood up as one man” (In Hebrew: Ish Echod).  Here again composite unity:  thousands acted as one!

These and other Scriptures showed conclusively that Echod cannot be an absolute unity.

God revealed Himself to Abraham as Almighty (El Shaddai).  The first letter of this word is “Schin”: it has three strokes joined as one. This letter is on the top of the phylacteries and on the casing of the door posts.  Jews have always taken this letter as symbolical of the “Godhead” because it had three strokes  (one for each Person in the Trinity), joined together as one, to show unity.  But another question troubled me:  if He who was on the cross was truly an incarnation of “Jehovah”, then who was in Heaven?  I turned to the eighteenth of Genesis.  Abraham had three visitors; two angels and the third he addressed fourteen times as “Jehovah.”  Later two went away, but the third said to Abraham:

“Shall I hide form Abraham that which I shall do? I am going down to Sodom and Gomorrah to see whether to see whether or not they have done altogether according to the report which has come to Me.  If not I will know I am going to destroy the cities.”

Abraham interceded for them, the Lord went His way, and Abraham went home. Now here is the point: We find Jehovah inspecting the moral condition of Sodom and Gomorrah and refusing to spare them because not even ten righteous citizens could be found within their borders.  But in this same chapter we have this statement: “ Then Jehovah rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from ‘Jehovah’ out of Heaven.” How and why could there be two Jehovah’s, one walking the streets of Sodom and another in heavenly places?  It must be one omnipresent Jehovah!  Then if that were true, He could simultaneously both in Heaven and with and in Jesus on the cross.

Another problem succeeds it: “ Why is the name ‘Jesus’ never mentioned in Hebrew Scriptures?”  I studied this question.

Imagine my surprise when I found that 275 years before Christ, King Ptolemy Philadelphus summoned men from Palestine, and bade them translate the Hebrew Scriptures into Greek vernacular.  They took the Pentateuch first and when they came to the name “Joshua” they translated it the book ofYesous”, written with a circumflex over it to show there had been a suppression of Hebrew that could not be expressed in Greek.  When Joshua went into Canaan with the other eleven spies, he was called “Yehoshua” (Jehovah is the Saviour).  That is exactly what the word “Jesus” means.

I could hold out in unbelief no longer; I was convinced of the truth of God as it is in Christ Jesus.  I cried:

“ Lord, I believe that Thou as Jehovah Yesous hast made the atonement for me. I believe that Jehovah Yesous died for me.  I believe Thou hast made provision for me!  I believe Thou hast the ability and power!  From henceforth I will publicly confess Yeshua as my Saviour and Lord!  Thus after months of searching I was convinced that Jesus was the righteous servant of Jehovah (Jehovah-tsidkenu),  “The Lord our righteousness!”

On March 30, 1904, I publicly confessed Christ in the Central Baptist Church, and having been licensed to preach, doors readily opened to me.  I was persuaded to enter Southern Baptist Seminary in Louisville, Ky., from which I graduated after a year of study.  Mr. Icenbarger, at my request, called a council of Dayton Association of ministers, and 35 Baptist pastors assembled in Central Church questioned me relative to my personal faith and doctrine.  My ordination took place that evening, an my first call came from Ada, Ohio, where I served as pastor for five years.  From there The New Covenant Mission of Pittsburgh, of which Maurice Ruben was founder and superintendent for many years, called me to be their pastor-evangelist.  After two and a half years of this ministry, I was convinced that God was calling me to a wider sphere in preaching the Gospel to both Jew and Gentile, depending upon the Lord for the support of myself and family. In 1913, we returned to Ada, the little flock over which I had been under-shepherd for five years, being very dear to our hearts.

I started out in Bible teaching and God was ever faithful.  Were I to write of all the manifestations of His goodness and grace, it would fill a book.  Critical operations, publication of my books, supplying all our needs, He never failed to care and provide.  In Christ I have found my only abiding comfort for every sorrow.

As a rabbi I had yearned to give the bereaved some hope on which to lean, but how could I give that which I did not posses?  I gave sympathy, but in times of ‘heart aching grief’ and tragedy, sympathy is of little comfort.  But to the heartbroken how satisfying and glorious are the words of our Lord Jesus Christ:

“ I am the resurrection and the life; he that believeth in Me, though he were dead, yet shall he live; and whosoever liveth and believeth in Me shall never die.”

And again:

“Verily, verily I say unto you: He that heareth My Word, and believeth on Him that sent Me, hath (posses now) everlasting life and shall not come into condemnation, but IS passed from death unto life.”

There is but one eternal life.  There is but one source of eternal life: that is God’s Son.  What a great and glorious message we, His redeemed ones, are commissioned to deliver today.

Prophecy – The Ultimate Morale Booster:

From time to time I come across interesting factoids that I feel could help to bolster the faith of other believers or maybe even prove to those who are searching for the truth that the God of the Bible is the one true God, and that His ways are perfect.

Of course, God has already done this in His word, The Bible, but there are so many people (Christians inclusive) that for whatever reason can’t or won’t pick up the Good Book. I also feel that there are some who thirst for such things and God is faithful to give such revelation. Now, I cannot say that I take any credit for what is written below. As a matter of fact, I have heard something on the subject sometime in the past, but the Lord brought it to mind and told me to write and expound on it.

One of the most sure things that we have to boost our morale in the faith department is prophecy, and the fulfillment thereof. I’ve always been impressed by God’s track record with prophecy. You really can’t argue over 100 percent after all. But the things that most impress me is the subtle little things that sometimes get looked over. The things that almost look like code, or the foreshadowing things that one has to dig and find are the things that excite me.

Gather Round The Tabernacle Boys, or;
The Numbers that Numbers, Numbers:

God led the Israelites out of Egypt and after a period of adjustment and testing He gave the Law which was a code to govern Israel. We here in America and other parts of the world have laws that derive from the laws that the Almighty laid down for Israel.

The laws that God gave to His People were very precise. He was judicious about everything, from simple laws about what to eat, to medicinal laws and also civil and capital laws. One set of commands that God gave was to dictate how His People should camp around the Tabernacle. For those who do not know what the Tabernacle was; it was a sort of traveling temple that the Israelites carried around. It was a place of worship and sacrifice and atonement. It was utilized until Solomon was given the chore of building a more permanent structure called the Temple; once the Jewish people were stabilized in the land.

The first thing that perplexed me about the camping situation was; why have any form of camping arrangement at all. People tend to stay with their own kind anyway. Also, I thought that it would be better to have the campers encircling the Tabernacle, sort of akin to the early settlers of America circling their wagons when they camped at night. It just made more sense to me to do things otherwise. But, I have to remember that God always has better ideas than me and He has a purpose for everything.

So, upon examination, I noticed that God gave instructions for certain families to stay in certain areas. He told Judah, Issachar and Zebulun to camp in one area; Reuben, Simeon and Gad in another; Ephraim, Benjamin and Manasseh in a third, and Dan, Asher and Naphtali in a fourth area. The Levites stayed with the Tabernacle because it was their job to be Priests and caretakers of everything concerning the worship center. The Tabernacle was the heart or the center of the camp.

Numbers 2

The Arrangement of the Tribal Camps

1 The LORD said to Moses and Aaron:
2 “The Israelites are to camp around the Tent of Meeting some distance from it, each man under his standard with the banners of his family.”

3 On the east, toward the sunrise, the divisions of the camp of Judah are to encamp under their standard. The leader of the people of Judah is Nahshon son of Amminadab.
4 His division numbers 74,600.

5 The tribe of Issachar will camp next to them. The leader of the people of Issachar is Nethanel son of Zuar.
6 His division numbers 54,400.

7 The tribe of Zebulun will be next. The leader of the people of Zebulun is Eliab son of Helon.
8 His division numbers 57,400.

9 All the men assigned to the camp of Judah, according to their divisions, number 186,400. They will set out first.
10 On the south will be the divisions of the camp of Reuben under their standard. The leader of the people of Reuben is Elizur son of Shedeur.
11 His division numbers 46,500.

12 The tribe of Simeon will camp next to them. The leader of the people of Simeon is Shelumiel son of Zurishaddai.
13 His division numbers 59,300.

14 The tribe of Gad will be next. The leader of the people of Gad is Eliasaph son of Deuel. [1]
15 His division numbers 45,650.

16 All the men assigned to the camp of Reuben, according to their divisions, number 151,450. They will set out second.
17 Then the Tent of Meeting and the camp of the Levites will set out in the middle of the camps. They will set out in the same order as they encamp, each in his own place under his standard.
18 On the west will be the divisions of the camp of Ephraim under their standard. The leader of the people of Ephraim is Elishama son of Ammihud.
19 His division numbers 40,500.

20 The tribe of Manasseh will be next to them. The leader of the people of Manasseh is Gamaliel son of Pedahzur.
21 His division numbers 32,200.

22 The tribe of Benjamin will be next. The leader of the people of Benjamin is Abidan son of Gideoni.
23 His division numbers 35,400.

24 All the men assigned to the camp of Ephraim, according to their divisions, number 108,100. They will set out third.
25 On the north will be the divisions of the camp of Dan, under their standard. The leader of the people of Dan is Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai.
26 His division numbers 62,700.

27 The tribe of Asher will camp next to them. The leader of the people of Asher is Pagiel son of Ocran.
28 His division numbers 41,500.

29 The tribe of Naphtali will be next. The leader of the people of Naphtali is Ahira son of Enan.
30 His division numbers 53,400.

31 All the men assigned to the camp of Dan number 157,600. They will set out last, under their standards.
32 These are the Israelites, counted according to their families. All those in the camps, by their divisions, number 603,550.
33 The Levites, however, were not counted along with the other Israelites, as the LORD commanded Moses.

34 So the Israelites did everything the LORD commanded Moses; that is the way they encamped under their standards, and that is the way they set out, each with his clan and family.

Now before we go any farther, we have to realize something. The numbers that are used below refer only to the men of the tribe. That would be every male that was fighting age, middle age and elderly. With that in light, let us proceed.

I also noticed that God was specific about the locations. For instance, He told the group associated with Judah, whose population by way of numbered men was the largest at 186,400 persons, that they had to camp east of the Tabernacle, in the direction of the rising sun. Now it is clear that God tells them to camp on the East side. So, let’s picture a rectangle for where the Tabernacle would reside. This includes the four walls of the Tabernacle compound and everything inside. A rectangle has four sides. Now, lets picture that the rectangle’s sides are a fixed width.

We know the dimensions of the Tabernacle compound. God told Moses that the length of the compound (the south side) was to be 100 cubits long. A cubit is the measurement from the fingertip of the outstretched hand to the end of the elbow. Most scholars consider this to be around 18 inches. That is the measurement we will use for out figures. If you do the math, the sum total of the length is 150 feet. God said that the east side should be 50 cubits long which works out to be 75 feet. So we have a 2 to 1 ratio in the measurements.

So, on the eastern direction the population would stretch eastward for as long as it takes the whole number of persons to live comfortably, and likewise with the other directions. Now, we must remember one thing. God specified the direction of east. That is a tight quadrant because just a few degrees from east in either direction you run into different coordinates. Getting off the mark to the north would put someone at east north east; or in the other direction east south east. God is always specific on what He would have His people do, so I believe that when the Israelites complied with His wishes, they were exact in their measurements. So, if the eastern direction was five miles in length, it would remain the same width for the whole line until the population of that group had come to an end point. The same would be true for the other directions with their respective lengths and populations.

Now it is interesting to note that directly on the other side of the Tabernacle was the smallest group in population. It was the group who was under Ephraim, whose total population or men was 108,100. If a line were drawn from the end of the Judah group to the end of the opposite group, Judah’s group would comprise 63% of that line while the Benjamin side would comprise 37% of the line. So, let’s take another line and cross our first line right around the two thirds mark on our first line. You’ll see that it makes a cross!

So, you’re probably wondering where I’m going with all of this. You’ll see in a few minutes.

We must now focus our attention on the other two sides of the Tabernacle; the north and south sides. On the north side was the group we’ll refer to the Dan group. Their number was 157,600 persons. Their opposites directly on the other side of the Tabernacle; the group we’ll call the Reuben group numbered 151,450 persons; a difference of 6150 people, which in a setting this large is really negligible, considering it’s only around a 2% difference.

I know that 2% is almost trivial, but it still didn’t jive with with I am trying to find. If the layout of the Camp arrangements is a foreshadowing of the Cross which Jesus hanged on then it would have to be precise. Knowing that one side of the horizontal is longer than the other by 2% had to have an answer. There could be an answer in the total populations of the groups. We have to do a bit of math here, so bear with me.

Before we look at populations we have to take several things into account. The Israelites had just come out of bondage, and it was a harsh bondage overseen by a brutal Pharaoh. It is doubtful that very many elderly persons existed in the population because they would have been pressed into service of Egypt too, and just like in Nazi Germany, there was probably no regard for those of substantial age. Therefore, those exiting Egypt were probably young, with the oldest being at best what we today call “middle aged.” So, elderly people should not factor too much in our calculations. Now we remember that the numbers listed in the scriptures are only the men. So, add to each man a wife and to be conservative, we will add two children to each man, making a family unit of four. That would mean that the Dan group would comprise 630,400 people. Adding any elderly people who would have survived the brutality of Pharaoh and the number increases. Doing the same thing to the Ruben group increases their number to 605,800 persons.

Now, this number still leaves us the same percentile as we had above; a 2% difference. You don’t have to be Einstein to figure that out. But, we have to make other considerations. Some men in any given group might not be married. Some families might consist of more or less than two children. Death by disease or natural causes could have reduced some families or groups. So, it is not out of the realm and perhaps very conclusive that although the size of the groups are different where counting them by the number of men is concerned, the size in total of the whole of the population could be exactly the same, or within decimals that would be ludicrous to count. Thus, the line that ran north and south from the tabernacle could have been of equal on both sides of the line that ran east and west.

But for argument sake, let’s just say that the populations were different, still by two percent. The skeptic would say, “ah ha, I’ve got you now,” meaning that God had made an imperfect cross and that it can’t represent a type of prophecy of, what at the time of the Tabernacle, was still a future event. So, being as inquisitive as I am, I had to do some figuring.

At first I thought about attributing an error to the makers of the actual cross that Yeshua would have hung on. Perhaps they made a 2 percent mistake when measuring the center of the horizontal piece of the cross. That is still a possibility, but I doubt it in this instance. The Romans were remarkable engineers, and I doubt that those in the same empire that built the Coliseum and the aqueducts with incredible tolerances would have trouble centering on a piece of wood. Even the least adept in construction knows that to find a center you draw a line from cattycorner to cattycorner, from all four corners and you’ll find the center of something. But we do have to factor in that a human made the cross and humans do error, so I don’t totally discount this explanation, but I have a more esoteric explanation.

Remembering that the purpose of this article is to explain that the encampment of the Israelites around the Tabernacle was foreshadow of the cross, I had to look at the human physique. We are not symmetrical by any means. Almost everyone has one foot that is larger than the other. Most have a leg that is longer than the other and in my case, one ear is unnoticeably lower than the other. Our internal organs are the same way. With the exception of our kidneys, we have just one of each internal organ. And that brings us to the heart, which is off center from the midline of our chest.

It is interesting to note that God likes to refer to our hearts. He searches our hearts, writes His laws on them and when we come to faith in Yeshua, He gives us a new heart.

The sacrifices of God [are] a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. Psalm 51:17

For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name [is] Holy; I dwell in the high and holy [place], with him also [that is] of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.  Isaiah 57:15

A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. Ezekiel 36:26

God pays a lot of attention to the heart. He uses the term to denote the very center of our being.

If we want to go a bit deeper into the mysteries of God we can look at the position of our physical hearts and see how it is representative of our spiritual heart. As we have mentioned, our hearts are a bit off center from out sternum. But what else in our lives is off center?

Let’s take at the word sin itself. Where did the word come from and what did it mean in the old English vernacular. The word is actually an old archery term. Back in the days of knights and fair damsels one sport was to target shoot with arrows. The popularity of the event was right up there with jousting and sword fighting. The targets were very similar to the ones that are used today. There was a target to shoot at and it had a center spot. The word “bullseye,” wasn’t actually used back then. It is a 17th century word that denotes a dot that’s smaller than a circle which protrudes to look like a bulls eye.

Anyway, the objective of this game was to see if one could hit the center spot with one or more arrows, and the one who did that the most won the game. Of course more people missed than hit the center spot. When a person shot an arrow and they missed they were said to have sinned. The word actually means “off of center.” So, when we sin, as we know it in it’s present form, it means that we’re not quite right; we’re off center and we can’t attain perfection, at least without Yeshua.

So perhaps, and this is only my speculation; our hearts are off center because we are born with a sin nature and the very essence of a man’s being is off center with what is right in God’s eyes.

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? Jeremiah 17:9

Now this two percent might still sound like a small amount to be off, but let’s look at something. Instead of percentage, let’s look at it in geometric terms. Let’s take a protractor and place it on a horizontal line. If the protractor were big enough it would have a 2 degree mark on it. We’ll make a line from the two degree mark and carry the line out. At first it seems like a small difference, almost infinitesimal. But as we move in the directions of both lines we notice that the lines start to move farther and farther away from each other. The two degree line is like sin, it cannot ever join the horizontal line unless someone intervenes and corrects situation. Yeshua is our master drafting person. When we accept Him as Lord and Savior, through a born again action, he erases the 2 degree line and draws us on the zero degree line, or perhaps for most of us it is 180 degrees. But I digress.

Another Possibility:

There could be another reason though, why there is a 2 percent difference between the populations on each side of the tabernacle. To investigate this we have to associate someone very special with a cross. Of course, we associate the cross with the crucifixion of Yeshua Ha Mashiach, and pretty much the world has for the past two thousand years.

Yeshua would have been hung on the vertical centerline of the cross. If he was on that centerline, as I suppose, His heart would have been off centerline because that is the way that we are built.

I did a little experiment one day to prove something to myself. I measured the total girth of my outstretched arms, fingertip to fingertip, and the measurement is 69 inches. That would make the center of my sternum 34.5 inches. I then looked at a lot of x-rays and anatomical pictures and such to see just how far off center the heart tends to be. I surmised that in my case that the center of my heart is just short of 1 and 1/2 inches from the center of my sternum. I then did some math and came up with the sum of the difference (1.325 inches) was 1.92 percent. Now, that’s pretty close to 2 percent.

So, if my postulation is true, then the populations of tribes in their positioning around the Tabernacle was a direct prophecy of a one day future Messiah, God Himself, hanging as a sacrifice for all mankind. No correction has to be made for family numbers, number of offspring or elderly populations. Praise the Lord of Heaven and Earth!!

In Closing:

In closing I’d just like to make a couple of encouragements. First, I would like to encourage anyone who, before this, was sort of waffling on a commitment to follow Yeshua as the Messiah. We all know that God went through a lot of effort in supplying Yeshua as the Lamb for the crucifixion. That in itself is enough to come to faith in Him. But, knowing that He went to such detail to point mankind in the right direction so many times by way of pre-type examples is truly astounding. So, I encourage you, if you haven’t made that decision yet to do so right now. If you want to know more about doing this, just go to the “saved” link on the front page of this website.

If you are a believer in Yeshua, and have become Born Of The Spirit then I encourage you to look at the Bible; the wonderful plan that He’s given to us. There are infinite things in His Word to refresh us every morning. Ask our Lord to reveal to you all of the majestic wonders that He has to brighten our minds and bolster our faith. I promise to keep posting them on this site and pray that as they come to you you’ll share them with me and allow me to share them with others on this site.

And in closing, let me bestow on you blessing from God our Father, and our Lord Yeshua Ha Mashiach.
