Lately I’ve been thinking about David and Elijah. Both of these men loved Yahweh and both trusted in Yahweh; David so much so that Yahweh said that David was “a man after mine own heart.” Elijah was faithful and often struggled with his calling in Yahweh.
Both of these men were pursued by people that hated them; they were berated and both had a price on their heads at one time or another. David was pursued by Saul who wanted to kill him and David did nothing but evade Saul even though he had chances to kill Saul and assume the Kingly Throne. The Psalms contain many of his outcries to Yahweh for help and his feelings of loneliness, distress and yet also his trust in Yahweh. Elijah was pursued by the army of King Ahab and Queen Jezebel. This evil monarchy killed all of the righteous (or so Elijah thought) prophets of Yahweh and Ahab in anguish cried to Yahweh. Yahweh answered back that:
Yet I have left me seven thousand in Israel, all the knees which have not bowed unto Baal, and every mouth which hath not kissed him. 1 Kings 19:18
So if you’re reading this and think that you’re the last survivor of a fallen away holocaust take heart, there are others out here. With that having been said, please read on.
I’ve been getting so many letters lately from people who are so frustrated over so many things that are going on. Let’s face it, this world is in a flux of madness. As Americans we’ve been given a choice of voting for a Mormon or voting for a Muslim. The Mormon has morals and values and that is a good thing, but he’s still a member of what many of us view to be an extraterrestrial cult. His god is flesh and blood and lives on a planet somewhere out in space. Voting for the Muslim is a no-brainer, it just isn’t going to happen with anyone that I personally know.
At our work places we see people who are acting out in all sorts of ways. Although they don’t have the discernment that we have as practicing believers in Yeshua, they can sense that our world is circling around a vortex and seems to be getting closer and closer to the center of that whirlpool. They cannot understand, but at the same time they don’t want to hear the truth; so sad for them.
In the realm of believers in Yeshua the Church seems to be a mess. Some pastors are refusing to preach about sin and hell because it might offend possible attendees. Some churches have written off Jews as lost forever with no chance of redemption and they state that the believers in Yeshua replace Israel. So what about Yeshua coming back to redeem Israel I ask? Are these so called believers not redeemed? Perhaps they have bigger fish to fry in the stead of hating Jews.
Then we move onto some of the Messianics who insist that gentiles become Jews before they can serve Yeshua, or the ones who say that we have to observe the Torah, not realizing that there are not just Ten Commandments, but 613 and some of them were just for Jews and some more cannot be observed since there is not a Temple anymore.
The list goes on and on; pre-trib, mid-trib or post trib is a subject that has divided churches and ended friendships. The doctrines of Calvin and Arminius has done very much the same. We kill each other while Satan leads thousands into Torments every day. Where’s the shame in Mashiach’s Church about all of this? It doesn’t exist.
My personal favorites however are those who have fire insurance. They claim to be believers in Messiah Yeshua, and they claim that their sins are “Under The Blood” of Yeshua, yet they continue to sin; trying to destroy those who they claim are their brethren, using a venomous style that probably makes Satan very proud of how he is manipulating them. I don’t know about you, but scripture tells me that my sins are “washed away” by the blood if Mashiach. Sins were covered in the Mosaic Covenant through the sacrifice of animals and those who trusted in those sacrifices as a pathway set up by Yahweh were later visited in Sheol by Yeshua who preached to them and later led them with Him to the real Paradise; namely Heaven. So for those of you whose sins are “covered” supposedly by the Blood of Yeshua go right ahead and believe that you are saints under the Mosaic Covenant, that is your right, but are you “right” by asserting your rights in that regard?
But as I mentioned earlier, it seems like evil is increasing these days and yes, it is true, it is increasing. As Americans and/or westerners we have had it pretty easy. We’ve had mushy Christianity, having a form of godliness but denying the power thereof. It seems that we’ve run everywhere for help in every matter except to Yahweh. We only reserve Him for the things that we cannot fix ourselves or the lawyers or doctors can’t resolve for us. What we seem to feel as evil escalating, our brethren in other lands have been enduring for centuries, even millennia.
Now, we expect the world to rob, steal and destroy; simply because their father (Satan) is the father of those things. It really shocks us when those whom we see as brethren do the same thing. Why be shocked? If a tree is bearing bad fruit do you expect it to produce something that you can eat? Do you expect to get peaches from thorns and thistles? We need to realize that there are just some people who are bad, they were born that way. We also need to realize that there are others who once knew the truth and walked away from it, enticed by the things that this world could give to them. Many times this type takes away from those of us who have been endowed by the Ruach Ha Kodesh with truth for those who want to hear the truth.
Take for instance my dear brother Jim Wilhelmsen. Quite a few years ago Jim wrote a book titled, “Beyond Science Fiction.” In this book Jim brought forth several ideas that were brand new for that time in the research realm that we were involved in. His book brought forth ideas like the NAZIS dabbling in occult sciences and producing the first UFO’s. His book brought forth the subject of Yahweh bending time and space in order to be able to enter our realm and he also explained the Clouds of Heaven, often spoken of in Scripture. For years our fellow researchers mocked Jim behind his back and blackballed him from speaking engagements and seminars simply because they could not accept his ideas, which incidentally are copyrighted in his book.
However as time progressed some of these (I’m not going to lackluster this) thieves began to see that Jim’s ideas did have merit and they began to incorporate his work into their own work. Moreover, they saw that many others were interested in these things and saw a way of making capital on these ideas. I won’t mention names, but if you get Jim’s book and read it, and compare it to other works that are copyrighted later you will see what has happened. One secular program that airs on the History Channel quite often even quotes one of Jim’s works word for word. Again, you’d expect that of the heathens at the History Channel, where they try to distort everything that has to do with Yahweh’s Scripture; but to see so-called believers in Yeshua is despicable.
Now, one could get mad at this, and believe me Jim has every right to be very angry, but Jim has something that the thieves don’t have; he has integrity. You see, Jim realizes that the things that were given to him were given by Yahweh; they were HIS ideas to begin with. Jim figures that it is more important for his word to get out than it is for his pride to be hurt and to fuss and worry about thieves spreading the truth. Now, if you’re looking for a Paradox, you have one; thieves spreading a truth. By the way, so that there is no mistake in the verbage of this blog entry; I am using the word thieves and Jim has not mentioned that word.
So what can we learn from Jim’s attitude? We can learn to have grace and dignity, both things lacking in Yahweh’s Church these days. We see this world spiraling down the drain and if you allow it to, it will scare the heck out of you. We need to know that when the world is falling down all around us, we are in the palm of Yeshua’s hand. We need to know that when people mock us, when they steal from us, when they take our words out of context for personal gain or for vendetta that there will come a day when all things will be judged for what they are and all people will either find peace in who they were or shame in who they were while abiding here on earth in this life. We all need to realize that when they do these things to righteous and true believers in Yeshua, they are doing it to Him too as we belong to Him. There will come a day when Yahweh will comfort us and wipe every tear from our eyes. We need to rebuke discouragement and fear because they come from the enemy. And, we need to put it all in Yahweh’s hands, to cast our burdens on Yeshua and to take on His yoke.
Things are going to get worse, I wish I could say something else, but it is the truth. The sooner that we can put our trust in Yeshua and know that Yahweh is for us and not against us, and that vengeance is His (not ours) and that he will repay every evil we will be able to walk victoriously and we’ll hear those wonderful words we’ve waited our whole lives to hear; “well done good and faithful servant.” Shalom in Yeshua!
