Welcome to the Opposing The Matrix website. The purpose of this page is to familiarize you with our radio broadcast. We hope that you will enjoy listening to our broadcasts and that you will find it interesting and/or educational. We operate outside of the box compared to most radio broadcasts, that is that we talk about politics and religion and we’re not afraid to broach subjects that people see as offensive, hurtful and/or outright bizarre.
Our online radio station has existed for over fourteen years. We have appeared through a variety of formats including Paltalk, Blogtalk Radio, MixLr, Spreaker and now we are on Acast and Podbean. In addition, there are what seems like innumerable sites that carry our RSS Feed and are up to date with current broadcasts. In addition, the archive page for all of our shows, from 2010 to current are available on our delusionresistance.org website. Finally, all of the broadcasts, both video and audio are available on the Opposing The Matrix, Rumble site. Brian and I usually record the broadcast on Monday nights and it usually uploaded to Spreaker, Podbean and Rumble that night, or early the next morning, real early.
History:
Opposing The Matrix started at the end of 2010, when an acquaintance named Matthew Miller allowed us to use some of his bandwidth to air our broadcast. Jim Wilhelmsen was the cohost at that time and other times afterward. After we became familiar with talk radio we started our show on Blogtalk Radio. This worked fine for us for two or three years until the cost of the service became difficult to meet. Blogtalk is a nice service, but ridiculously overpriced.
We were introduced to a network named GWOW Radio, whose admin asked us to couple with his show. We gladly accepted the offer because it was free and they did the administrative work. I accredit this ministry with helping us to get our feet wet and set us on our own course. After a while GWOW Radio went off the air due to a conflict of the producer’s work schedule and family commitments. We continued on using MixLR for a while until the format started to produce audios that were subpar upon which time we did Skype shows and uploaded them later.
After a few years of uploading we started using Spreaker, which was a vast improvement, as long as you just used a simple headset with a microphone. Feeling the urge to become a little more professional I acquired a mixer board (a real one, not the one that I used originally) and things seemed to go well, but issues began to occur. We ran into recording problems and Spreaker became a real nuisance to use. It became hard to interface it with Skype and there were close to 25 choices that had to be made with mic inputs and speaker inputs.
In 2020 I became fed up with Spreaker, although I kept the format because we had a lot of listeners. We began to do Skype shows offline and uploaded them later. Late the same year we started to use Skype to make video blog shows which we would upload to Spreaker, PodBean and YouTube. YouTube caused me grief because they had deemed our show offensive from time to time, stating that we violated community standards. Toward the end of the year I made the switch to Rumble and shut off the YouTube account. Rumble listeners welcomed us with open arms and the broadcast took off. In 2022 I became aware of Acast that was offering the same services as Spreaker, except for free, so I switched to Acast.
We’d like you to be aware that as of the middle of 2001 our blog has gone solely video, meaning that there are no audio files to place in any of the audio formats that we were storing our files. The older audio files are still available on those sites however. We have come to learn that the video format is liked much more than the audio format so we will continue to continue to present live-stream on Rumble and Twitch and forego the audio shows.
Hosts:
I have been the main host for the whole duration of the show, and I still am. Relationships come and go as do cohosts. Jim Wilhelmsen cohosted for a few years and then said that he needed a sabbatical, stating that he felt that our interests were going in different directions. After a year or two he came back to cohost again. While Jim was gone my pastor (at that time) cohosted for a couple of months but became busy so he had to leave. Wilhelmsen and Erik Smith stayed with our show until late in December. Again it appeared that we were going down different roads and our association had to be terminated.
After Jim left there was a flurry of speculations that occurred about the departure. To set the record straight, I attest that there were no words exchanged in anger although some were cast in my directions. Fact-of-the-matter is that Opposing The Matrix has always been a show that endorses doctrinally sound content, in other words, we can back up our claims with factual scripture that is confirmed by other scriptures. While I do agree with Jim on probably 99% of things, the issues that he was going to address were talked about many times and it was decided that they were too controversial to bring onto Opposing The Matrix. However, at the end of the year, Jim forced the issue and announced that he was going to bring up these subjects which I saw at the time, and still see, as stretching Biblical Scripture to a very thin line. With this in mind, I canceled the show, hoping to address it with Jim but was told that I was seen as an unfaithful friend that betrayed his trust. Knowing Jim for over 15 years I knew that these words put a final nail in the coffin regarding our association.
A few months before Jim left we brought Brian Fernandez onto the show. Brian is an excellent researcher both in the Bible and in paranormal things like UFOs, Alien Abduction and other anomalous things. Brian, like myself, is a Messianic Jew. We hold tight to the doctrines of Orthodox Christianity while we allow the Holy Spirit to work through us as well as keeping the Feasts of Israel and the Sabbath. We realize that what we do isn’t for everyone, but we also realize that there is a freedom in Messiah to worship as one sees fit as long as the worship remains toward the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (Yeshua or Jesus) and doesn’t violate Biblical principles or cause discord among the Saints.
The Future:
We are excited to explore all of the mediums that are out there to broadcast our show. I know that this is really reaching for the stars, but maybe someday we’ll be syndicated so that we can reach many more people. We feel that with all of the craziness, false doctrine and with a massive circling around the bowl that we will be addressing many topics in the future that we never imagined in present day. We are living in a time of falsehood and deception, what the Bible calls a “Strong Delusion,” and we hope to be around to warn people about the deception of the flesh and this world system, and we hope to offer people hope and a way to find peace from the anxiety and woes that the world is buffeting everyone with. We hope that you journey with us.
